  1. Some websites say if you have that code they can fix it, so they must know what causes it. Im assuming its a fractured joint on a component or something because of all the heat cycling the thing gets in the boot of the car. This place is one that seems to already know what to do with them while others will "take a look" which isnt easy with an intermittant problem. https://electronicrepairs.com.au/product/lexus-rcf-mark-levinson-amplifier-repair-3180/
  2. You can do a diagnostic test that will see if its the amp or not. Next time you turn on the ignition & theres no sound hold the MENU button & turn the headlights on & off 3 times. If you get a code B15C3 its the common amp issue. Sounds like its the amp anyway though.
  3. I used techstream to change the power window options so when i hold the unlock, the windows come down & it beeps & when I hold the lock it puts the windows up & beeps.
  4. Pricey. Wonder what the lead times on big parts are.
  5. I very much dont understand the hatred for the old infotainment, i think its so much worse to have to reach forwards to press the screen, compared to move your finger on the track pad, not to mention if they put the heater controls into the screen too. The pre updated infotainment dashboard on the LC is also much nicer with that textured piece & the screen behind the glass.
  6. maybe it does some sort of system check every 10th start or something, do not question the Lexus.
  7. "On 6th July 2022, speed limiters became a legal requirement for all new cars manufactured in Europe. From 7th July 2024 onwards, all car manufacturers will be legally required to ensure any cars on sale in their showrooms have speed limiters fitted. This means that any showroom cars without speed limiters will need to have the technology retrofitted."
  8. I work at Toyota uk & I can tell you that they recently completed a project for Hilux, they made a load of Hydrogen powered Hilux prototypes & I see a hydrogen powered passenger bus driving around the plant too so just based on my own eyes, id say they didnt give up on hyrdogen at all. Im sure there must be a business & financial & advertising, cabon offestting/net zero benefit to it all for them to continue when its not very profitable though.
  9. Supposedly the Landcruiser is an exception, it seems to be generally considered as beingvbetter than the lexus version. New Landcruiser looks pretty good tbh & I'm not into 4x4s
  10. I had the same vvti issue on an old Nissan with an sr20 engine.
  11. I'm not sure self parking is a thing. Sounds like a huge liability for a car company, you'd at least have to have a human behind the wheel ready to take over when the ai tries to delete you.
  12. From my experience recently, the oem & aftermarket are similar prices & a least you know oem will be 100% the right part. £75 for a tpms from lexus direct for my rcf
