  1. 42410-30040 https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/4241030040 Best price seems around £100 cheaper than the front fully shipped. Its definitely worth the wait for non urgent work in my opinion. Realistically it takes around 3 weeks sometimes as amayama dont always hold stock. They order it from toyota once they receive your order then ship it to you. But if its in stock i reckon it may come faster.
  2. ~240 usd for a front one on amayama. https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/4355030071 Its double the price on Lexuspartsdirect
  3. I think all IS cars come with tpms built in. Not sure if the lower variants don't have it. But mostly all have it and if you want it displayed on the instrument cluster then you can add this type of module from china https://a.aliexpress.com/_EJkKpoJ Thread on this here https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/132372-digital-lcd-display-tyre-pressure-module/#comments
  4. Thats 540 a month or ~6500 a year every year. You won't be changing shocks or tyres every year. Also that seller made me an offer for those shocks i linked above he wants to sell them for 150 now. Perhaps offer him that. At least you will have one shock really cheap.
  5. 64725-50071 is the part number you are looking for. Google search it various sources will come up where you can buy it.
  6. Quite surprised to hear that amayama is more expensive than lexus. Anyway im sure if you search the part number in google and scour the internet you will come across deals to be had. Here is one example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355620279628?itmmeta=01J09RH1D2QBNJEWYP8QDK0SFN&hash=item52cc9ed54c:g:~ZYAAOSwqZJmFZrl&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8EFJNTib%2B7wOpRNianwN8qrtZFnC2j2%2B759ApwO6fWx18mFdLcrvblfJeB5YOuwh12jQQxWPvGvfTe9LLHcxPUkWipuS3luU3cQ8yo9enlm5rqHsGORDyuxnsJz%2Fa%2B5%2F31BCBlqfEnBD4%2FeZU9DSI2%2BBrh1SBA1ULQuFLs0gKv2RQWXTVBvirPmAdOwiWi8FiZEcBeHPwrqSKq%2FscQ3T3Pe1VAmXsnxH4D7DdAOsW0sAt6ftK%2Bla%2BqMudAFw0Ua8svCuZb6rxZV0J%2B%2F6vTVQe%2FCKpbl74Lh%2BLe0CmjMJGY3lrlGqfBYB5OuHe3kh1wtxxw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8yWxLiCZA
  7. Yeah try that. And i totally understand. Its getting harder and harder to choose which car to buy with companies these days primarily offering SUVs and arguably not as well made as older cars. If you're happy with the car and plan to keep it for the next 5-6 years then spending ~3k on it makes sense. Thing to note is that £600 will only get you a replacement cell. I think most battery repair places also offer a reconditioning of the remaining cells for ~1200 or so. I believe they run it on some machine to get rid of the deposits that form inside that reduce the battery life e.g on a normal lead acid battery sulfation is what kills it and some machines can boil off these deposits. I feel like its something similar that they do for the NiMH batteries to kind of restore them to get the best performance. Maybe speak to one of these places and get a quote as this might make sense vs replacing 1 cell only to find out a year later that another one has conked off. Also on the shocks consider ordering them from amayama or other places where you can get original parts cheaper and fit them at a local indie that will save you a ton of cash as in my experience the cost of parts at lexus is sometimes double or even 3x the price of what you can expect to pay elsewhere.
  8. Depends on why you want to change cars? Are you bored of the gs450h is it that you just want to experience something different now? If so then that rationale works. Else from a purely financial pov retaining your existing car is always the better option. Sounds like your decision to replace the shocks is not due to faulty shocks but because you think it might improve the ride quality? If so then i would say defer this job until there is an actual issue. If its actually damaged then i would say get a new car as thats nearly £3000 you will be putting into this car that could go towards you driving something newer. As far as fixing the battery goes. Independent garages/companies will replace the bad cell and recondition the other cells. So in theory it should last a good few years but like with anything else things can go bad again and you will be supported only upto the warranty period the company provides. So in theory you can get mayne another 2-3 years out of this car by spending £1200 or so on reconditioning the battery. At this point the car will be 20 years old already and you may want to change it then if not now.
  9. The 2013 2014 models are notorious for failing water pumps. Mine failed in the centre at the bearing. I have heard of a few others failing at the bearing as well. Lexus later had a new part number for the stretch belt. So one hypothesis is that the older belt was causing the bearings to wear prematurely causing leaks.
  10. Just so you know. The inverter coolant and engine coolant have completely different water circuits. The pump driven by the belt is the engine coolant pump you check the level of engine coolant by looking at the reservoir bottle on the front above the radiator(red in pic below). The pump making noise from your original post is the inverter coolant pump. This is a plastic electric pump not driven by the belt and is meant to cool the inverter. The level of this coolant can be checked looking at the bottle near the throttle body (blue) So if your engine coolant water pump is leaking that won't reduce the inverter coolant. Also that wont impact draw from the 12v battery as nothing critical runs off the 12v battery. Its only function is to start the car and power the alarm, security system, lights etc. BTW that noise from your original post may not necessarily be the inverter coolant pump and could also be the high pressure fuel pump (for direct injection) building pressure. Anyway good that you caught your warepump leaking. Get it replaced under relax.
  11. Yes im pretty sure thats normal. I am not sure what it is exactly but suspect its the inverter pump running. I remember hearing this noise when the car is on but the engine has stopped. But might be worth asking when you visit lexus next just so all of us know what it is.
  12. Is it possible to make a hole on the original fuse cover to allow the wires to pass but still close it? If so that may be something to consider.
  13. Heres another thread that might help with installation.
  14. Buy they already have other terms and conditions that specifically void your warranty if the car is not used in ways it is meant to e.g racing / towing more than the specified weight etc. Plus there is a mileage limitation + time limitation e.g the relax warranty is valid only for 10k miles or 1 year to prevent overuse e.g driving it as a taxi - But even those that stick within their specified framework sometimes get short changed for "fair wear and tear" which to me doesn't make sense.
  15. I didn't do it myself. It was done by the dealer who sold me the car. But from what i understand from others on this forum its a straightforward swap. Nothing needs to be coded. Some early models had an issue with the head unit failing after a battery swap so would recommend switching it off before changing the battery or better yet pull the fuse before changing.
  16. I think if it says it is covered and you have the relax warranty then it should be covered. They cant make excuses to get out of it. They most likely cant claim fair wear and tear as its a parking sensor. Dont think it is meant to wear out. On a separate note i dont totally understand how or why warranties have this fair wear and tear clause. Surely if the manufacturer is saying they warrant the car for xx years and they say xx part is covered then they believe that those parts shouldn't go bad within that period?
  17. Yes clean it with a leather cleaner like autoglym. The idea behind a specialised leather cleaner is that it doesnt contain harsh ingredients but can still dissolve and remove stains or grime that cant be removed by dry cleaning like dusting or vaccuming. Also after that you could condition it with a leather balm of some sort like autoglyms leather conditioner. Despite the top coat leather is naturally porus and the conditioner gets in the pores to restore natural oils etc making the leather soft / slightly puffy but this is only if it is real leather. Alternatively you can use a wax polish to shine and protect. Some come with added colours to help restore your finish. If its one of the artificial leathers then they arent as porus or absorbent from what i understand and you could still clean it with autoglym but after that you could use a wax type product.
  18. Confirming the battery linked above is the one I have. One thing though is the vent tube doesnt fit it probably needs an adapter or something maybe it came with one but the used car dealerthat fitted the battery probably didn't bother. I have heard of people calling up yuasa and being sent an adapter free. I have just left mine disconnected for now.
  19. Sure thing. Il double check when i go to the car next but am pretty sure its this one https://www.yuasa.co.uk/ybx3053.html. Looks like its less than half the price and it fits and works perfectly.
  20. I think people should stop buying the original battery if thwy dont drive regularly. Sounds like there are several reports on this forum of issues if not driven regularly. I have a Yuasa sealed silver calcium battery that im sure is cheaper than the original and i also use my car infrequently ie just about 30-40 mins 3 days a week and have not had these issues(touch wood). Ive gone on holiday and left the car standing with the battery connected for close to a month without issues. The wifes jazz also has a yuasa and its been 6 years now no issues.
  21. Sorry didn't mean to dissuade you. Its definitely doable but just takes time and patience. I would say set aside 3 hours if you plan to do it and wear gloves if you have to put your hand in there to pull the wires.
  22. I did...i bought a wire pulling kit on amazon especially for this it still didnt help. The main issue was even with that method the connectors / plugs on the chinese loom were broad and since there were 3- 4 of them, they would get stuck mid way and i had to put my hand in there to pull it through. But depending on your factory head unit you might have fewer connectors. I think the premium nav headunits have fewer connectors. I have a 2014 executive so mine came with the knob and it had 3 or 4 connectors that needed to be plugged into the head unit plus the sockets for the 3 -4 factory wires to plug into. Also attaching an image of what i mean by it didn't fit properly as you can see it was meant to slot under the top part of the dash but it sticks out a bit. But seems like this is specific to the brand i purchased and a nunoo unit should be good.
  23. Good it does help boost your DIY confidence. And its a Toyota in the end its one of the easy to work with cars. The connectors should be fairly obvious as the sizes of each plug / socket are unique. Essentially all you are doing is plugging any wires that originally went into your factory head unit into the chinese wiring loom and then then from the chinese wiring loom back into the head unit again. Basically creating a bypass through the android screen. Trust me all that is easy the real difficult part for me was passing the chinese loom through that tight space from the screen to the head unit. Once installed it does look nice though but for me the novelty wore out quickly and I started to have buyers remorse partially because of the fact that mine didn't fit correctly. Hence if you're buying id recommend getting the 1st option with reviews and pictures of others having fitted it. I think nunoo and navirider were brands i seen that had good reviews but i stupidly went after fancy higher specs.
  24. A TPMS light on the dash is an MOT fail unfortunately. So you will need to sort it before your next MOT. As mentioned above changing the battery can be done as a DIY but it needs time. Like you will need to take the TPMS sesnor home and solder in the new cell. Its not an easy swap you can do at the tyre shop. You can consider ebay etc to find genuine sensors cheaper. Here is one such example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314744520503?itmmeta=01HZG5FVHP6MNND3Q0HH1M0ZCP&hash=item49483c3f37:g:wlkAAOSwNI9mK1~G&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0GuK%2F%2BN6e0QBbvSWqRObXT0nK6--QeF08obMxMcQF06e3FRMUe%2F51Lk4zAIxbQc6yTiQAfnm3vNU2tzLZuUifFLT7j9Zh%2FykXDpjj3KFWZY%2FPxBUmTcxK1%2B43PjPxHhZmGm%2FAPShejypLlEfpeoZk%2F2QsZwYokrSLiatdZN%2BBmNM3DG447nNjf8BL5qNpI%2BGbgxLnAV7Era5LkI2gnjqb9tl5yGZ2%2BUDFenD3PBLw4nZ5XB1AYqj1zn59EWpgioUC%2BsKUtqhp6UHHX3wchZl1oQ%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_S4v4X8Yw
  25. Yes you can use the normal factory Bluetooth for audio but i dont think your phone can simultaneously send audio to the factory system and use the Bluetooth to connect to android auto. Also when connected to the android side of things e.g when using android auto the audio on your factory system by default switches to aux. So I dont think there is a way of running your songs through the factory unit while having maps etc up on the android unit. Unless I am wrong. I only had it for 3-4 days before uninstalling it and returning it. Perhaps someone who has one currently can shed more light on this. Also i dont think you can get stuck halfway. At the most you might not be able to push the wires through and decide to call it off and reassemble the factory unit back. The USB you shared wont work as that is a wireless adapter i.e if your system already has wired android auto/ car play then you can make it wireless with this usb. It doesnt add it to a system that doesnt have it. A universal unit might work if you really need a larger screen. But its pretty much the same as using your phone. Perhaps order one on amazon or something see if you like it else return it. I think a brand called carpuride is quite popular in this space. Personally I just find using the phone very convenient. You just need a good mount. You can play spotify and run maps simultaneously when connected via Bluetooth. Google assistant actually understands voice commands and it works for changing artists etc as well on spotify. Plus if you're playing from a playlists you can switch tracks etc using the steering buttons. With the ~500 i saved from returning the android unit and putting in a bit more i was able to upgrade my phone to the latest s24u during the pre order discounts and this phone is something i use most of the time so its not £500 locked in the car and it just made more sense to me than investing that much in a gadget that i would use only when in the car.
