  1. Hi Alan After dealer fix it only recovered the trips when I had realised location services were disabled & I switched them on every I started car. So from mid Feb until mid March no trips recorded 🙄 which is understandable as that was when I didn't realise location services were disabled.
  2. Hope they are as helpful at Gatwick as Lexus Coventry & the biccies are up to scratch!
  3. I installed update accepted T&Cs and everything seemed fine BUT a few days later I realised none of my trips were showing in the Lexus link+ app. Also no location of car as it just said location unavailable while car is switched on & in motion ??it was parked and locked on my drive!!! There are posts about this update issue on the NX thread too. So after reading them I then realised there was no trip data in the app. as location service switched off in Info. & Security in car settings so switched it on accepted T&Cs and my journey was logged and car location worked again in app. BUT when I next used the car location services off again 😱 After a few times of switching it back on accepting T&Cs every time I started car in the forlorn hope that it might eventually sort itself out I rang dealership. (Didn't have these problems with a previous update sometime in 2023). Service tech. ran through things with me & I had to re.synch my account to the car. Everything seemed fine until car switched on again and back to the same scenario of location services being off 😡. Fortunately I'm only 11 miles from the dealership & I had some spare time this afternoon. So I sat having coffee and eating their biscuits while it was sorted. Apparently, the car was removed from my account in the app. and then put back on - sorted! Hope this helps but the moral of the story for me is that if I can't sort it easily myself then I'm off to see the lovely helpful people at Listers Coventry.
  4. I've chosen where I park for years not just to protect the car from dings but to get more exercise. Most people like to park as close to a supermarket entrance (or anywhere else) as possible I do the opposite parking as far away as possible. If I can't do this then I choose what type of vehicle I park by. When I had a sports car I would never park by a SUV as they are so much higher the chance of a door ding I felt was more of a risk. Awhile ago I was chatting with some friends about the fact that I would get back to the car and there would be loads of empty places around where I was parked but someone would be parked next to me. A female friend said that she was not very good at parking so always parked next to another car as that helped her to judge her position in the bay. Now before you all say anything I'm a woman too and perhaps some male drivers do the same as my friend. There are good and bad drivers irrespective of whatever gender they identify as (careful use of words on my part here !!) After my friend comment I have employed another technique in car parks. I try to find an end spot by a kerb (or bollards) then park as close as possible so I'm well over in the space. It also means at least one side of the car is protected. Like Boomer parking at the edge is a good idea as it means you don't get people walking in-between parked cars - think bag buckles etc. On another note - I was in a pub car park in my previous car, had just got out but was getting stuff out the boot. Another driver was attending to get in the space by me & I had to tap on car bonnet to stop it from going into the side of me. She was very apologetic saying she wasn't very good at parking & gratefully accepted my offer to park the car for her. Needless to say I popped back after a couple of minutes & moved my car elsewhere. Surely someone has made a cotton wool cover that I can wrap my car up in !!!!
  5. So many variables driving style, weather, roads used i.e. mostly motorway or mixture or just local. I've had my current Fsport coming up for 6 months I took delivery on 1st April working out MPG the old fashioned way dividing miles travelled by gallons (divide litres by 4.546 to get imperial gallons). So FYI here is the data so far in order some of the figures are over a couple of fill ups when I've been on holiday. 1st 3 months of ownership > 49.96, 53.76, 48.55, 55.01, 51.84 which equates to 50.64 mpg overall. from beginning of July to date 54.13, 53.73, 54.97 the car now has approx. 4000 miles on the clock. So as Don C has said the mpg improves as you put the miles on. I've owned a variety of Japanese made cars & found that they like running hot and mileage improves significantly on long journeys. I got 50mpg out of a Subaru Impreza 2lt on a long journey but I was 'hypermileing' I'll admit that I take childish pleasure of using sport mode when at traffic lights & elsewhere now and again. Its my first SUV style car having owned a long line of hot hatches & sports cars but I'm very impressed with its handling and performance.
  6. Hiya I think this is a safety feature as if the car is stopped and in park all will be available. When on the move scrolling through the touchscreen to find the album or playlist you want would be too much of a distraction. Especially if like me you have a lot of albums and playlists on your phone. So available actions when moving are less. Just ask Siri and problem sorted for example "Hey Siri play album Steel Wheels by Rolling Stones" obviously this involves remembering the name of albums or playlists ! An option for long journeys is to make a playlist of sufficient length time wise , a modern equivalent to those mixtapes of the 1980's but perhaps unlike me you are too young to remember them 🤣
  7. Many thanks David & Mark for the replies
  8. Eventually Lexus UK have replied to dealer to say that due to ongoing part delays they are no longer supplying towbars for the UX. Dealership are arranging for a refund to be made (hopefully that won't take so long to organise!). So has anyone out there used an 3rd party to fit a detachable towbar / any recommendations. I'm beginning to think no one that drives a Lexus rides a bike, perhaps not the image Lexus wants. But then I've noticed that pictures of various makes of SUV on manufacturers websites no longer feature anyone with a bike. Maybe a reflection of the widening divide between different road users.
  9. When I originally ordered my UX in February 2022 I specified a tow bar + electrics for my bike carrier. When the car came in November 2022 guess what! no tow bar, dealership rang me before I picked up the car & said they would order in for fitting. Now I've had an email from salesperson as follows ;- "The tow bar is causing me lots of problems as Lexus have now removed all the part codes and Lexus have basically said due to constant part delays, they have removed all options. The main part of your tow bar is on back order and I have raised a case to make sure they are actually planning on fulfilling the order." Is there anyone out there with any info. on whether a tow bar + electrics are available anywhere or even possible anymore? Anyone in a similar situation? I'm at the point of giving up on this. Putting bike on a roof rack is not an option & tailgate mounted carriers are not an option either. As a vertically challenged weakling not in the first flush of youth of the female gender I have to stand on a stool to wash the roof of the car! So getting a roof box and shoving the bike in the boot is perhaps not an option either. Then I've thought about getting a fold up bike but I would want one that rides similar to my hybrid Specialized. Obviously the price of fitting the tow bar+electrics was part of the purchase price so if I do give up on ever getting it fitted I will need to negotiate refund or extras. I'm wondering whether that would be a world of grief.
  10. Obvious settings that can be personalised depend on model I had a 72 reg plate for 4 months before getting my 23 reg plate and made the following notes so I could set up the new car quickly MPG change to reset after refuel on trip meter A, I like to reset meter B manually after service so I have an idea of years milage LTA = lane trace assist set to centre to lane PCS = pre collision sytem adjust sensitivity down volumes turn down/ turn off screen tap sounds steering wheel set to tilt & Telescopic auto headlights lights - set sensitivity to dark dynamic radar cruise - curve speed reduction adjust to lowest warning for over speed limit set to 3 steering out of lane warning set to nudge not vibrate as I have an F Sport the very first thing was to turn off the ASG (stupid false engine sound generator) its all about personal preference though at the end of the day, enjoy your UX
  11. Hiya, my UX F sport MY23 picked up late November has Bridgestone Alenza 011 RFT & so far so good. I haven't thought OMG tyre noise is terrible ! in fact perhaps quieter than my previous car a Subaru Impreza on Bridgestone Turanza but the Subaru symmetrical AWD (power to all wheels at all times) probably makes for more noise anyway. Also not missing the AWD yet
  12. Hi Barry, yep to GAP or not to GAP giving me headache! Try gap insurance.co.uk of the ones I've investigated they seem the most up front in explaining their policies. My insurance with General Accident covers me in the first year for replacement in the case of total loss. It's been a bit of a conundrum as I'm in a strange situation where another car is on order which the finance will continue on just a straight swop use the car I have until next one comes.
  13. I’ve visited this thread several times in 2022, now I’ve got my UX thought I would detail progress dates of my order fyi although maybe not relevant for current orders. Order placed at dealer 25/2/22 expected delivery then was end July start August! Lexus link updates 7/9/22 started building car, 26/9/22 finished building car, 28/1022 on its way (ie at portbury), 15/11/22 has arrived 22/11/22 picked car up from dealership - a palindromic date to remember for my first Lexus a UX F Sport originally ordered with premium plus pack but all those extras are now standard as car is a 23 MY. BTW dealership honoured original deal re. Pricing, trade in, incentives, PCP figures within £150 of original quote sweet!
