  1. Or press and hold the lowest button on left hand steering wheel controls. It cancels the current warning message. The icon is indicated in the lowest part of the warning message. The same button cancels messages like 'low screen fluid' etc.
  2. I didn't realise that either. Suppose you have driven entirely in EV mode, say for half an hour, will the engine still require warming up before you need the power for an overtake. Or does the battery keep it warm, perhaps with an oil heater, even though the engine is not running? It is a difference between my previous IC cars where the power output is the same and the hybrid where there is a noticeable difference between EV and HV.
  3. Yes, it is my first Lexus and first Hybrid and I felt the same. I only occasionally want to go fast for a safe overtake and quickly found that EV was not the best. I usually select HV to ensure the engine is running, or will start quickly, and I have Sport acceleration, sport suspension and low AC programmed into the custom button (F Sport) so I can select custom with a press on the button and select HV. I have not yet experimented with dropping a 'gear' on the paddles. I think Colin may be right in that it feels slower and takes a little time to wind up.
  4. Has anyone else adopted this? I found if I did not need the nav then the I would use the energy flow diagram but this can be quite distracting. I have been using main display off for a week or two and it works well for me. The speech lady seems to understand me pretty well - much better than the voice control on previous makes - so that helps a lot. If you touch the lower part of the screen the climate control pops up and then closes again after adjusting. The camera comes on with reverse gear and when set to auto (got that tip on here) comes on at slow speeds for parking and goes off afterwards. The nav screen will come on and stay on when you input a destination by voice. At any time you can bring the main screen back on just by touching it.
  5. I agree the display can be hard to use while driving and a distraction. I have been using the energy flow screen when the Nav is not in use but this can be distracting. I have recently started experimenting with the display off and making myself use the voice control more. There is plenty of information on the dash and heads up display and even a small energy flow schematic that can be selected. The screen will come back on just by touching it but it also comes on automatically for some operations - for example the camera and for voice control and then switches off again. I find the voice control very good in comparison to previous manufacturers, that I rarely used, and the range of functions is wide. For example asking 'her' to turn off the seat heating is a lot safer than hitting that small button three times in succession.
  6. Found a useful bit in the guidebook - started the car with the selector in Neutral and it has reset everything back to normal. So far the only lasting indication is the trip odometers reset to zero.
  7. Thanks. I think it was just coincidental that I was in HV, as you would always want to know the state of charge and remaining fuel.
  8. Hybrid mode. Runs the engine more. Had not used it much before but I don't think its connected to the missing parts of the dash.
  9. My 450h+ is a month or so old. Returned to the car today after a walk and as we were both wet and cold started the car in HV to get some heat. I have not used that before. After a few minutes drive I noticed that both sides of the dash display were empty - no battery charge level and no fuel gauge. Passing thought - not likely - that maybe the display was different for HV. Tried the alternates with same result. Switched car off and on when I got home but gauges still missing. I'll phone Lexus in the morning. Any ideas or anyone had that problem?
  10. Picked up my 450+ last month. So far so good and I was well prepared having kept an eye on this forum for the last year or so. Information has been great. Perhaps you can help me with the following question. My display screen has a multitude of small scratches on it, which are mostly invisible except in the right light and with the screen off. It is as though someone cleaned it with grit in the cloth. I can see that there is a film protecting the screen. It is very well fitted but visible by the two circles around the temperature knobs. My question is should this have been removed at delivery or is it a more permanent fixture to protect the glass? I am reluctant to remove the film until I have an answer and my dealership has so far not come up with one. Any thoughts?
  11. Hi, Is anyone holding back the value of the second key fob or wheel nuts until they have been supplied? It goes a little against the grain to pay the full cost when Lexus has not fulfilled their contract. Perhaps the dealers at least would have some small incentive to hurry them up.
  12. Thanks for the further replies - all good info. I have a much clearer picture of what I need now.
  13. Thanks for the replies everyone - that's really useful info. I'm now thinking that it makes sense to have the installation so there is a choice for a fast charge if needed and a slow charge to help preserve the battery. And of course for the future possibility of a full EV. The Lexus spec says the car comes with a 6.6KW AC charger with Type 2/Mennekes inlet, I'm guessing that refers to what is onboard the car and I would need to buy a cable with the wall unit. It also comes with a Household charging cable (7.5m, BF socket). Is the household charging cable complete with 'granny charger' or is that something different?
