In the USA, it is possible to use the Link app to start and drive the car. We are happy for the cellphone to keep our bank access secure with secure recognition systems, how can it not be secure for our car? Lexus UK just making the car only fully useful for one driver.

I still have a 15yr old Garmin alongside the Lexus screen. At least with that I have some selection.

The key card, like many US vehicles, may not have the latest security. Here is the reply I received from Lexus U.K. when I complained I had not received the key card that was in the original specification. I would happily have taken the lower security version while waiting for the second fob.

I did go to a reputed auto locksmith. He investigated and said he could only get the key from Lexus but they were available at £591. Like you it is a real issue for me and I paid up the money. Two weeks later the locksmith came back and said that Lexus had removed the availability of the remote fob. They had supplied the useless blade though. He could recover the cost of the fob but the blade had already been cut so I could not be refunded for that. As far as I’m concerned it is not the fault of the locksmith. We both have been scammed by Lexus - again!

No idea about the NG!! Could be the link version that is giving me problems … will try to ring Lexus UK and ask. reloading the Toyota app does seem to have changed. I did try numerous reload and reset in the U.K. but this is the first download while in EU. It does get further but now it is telling me to charge cellphone battery. 18% not enough so will try tomorrow. Thanks again for help

OK, many thanks again for your help. The Climate does indicate MY24, although extra Fast/eco selection. Also does glove box colour. Not sure about the switches alongside the Hold button. Someone had reported they had swapped over sides on MY24. After selecting Climate, I then had to accept terms & conditions that I had not seen before so maybe something there. Will try more experimentation tomorrow and maybe try to read the 2,800 pages of manuals again. …. So it may well be that the major issue I have is with the Link + I will try EU Toyota app later.

I have been told that it is MY24 (confirmed in email from dealer) but not sure of anything I am told by Lexus now. It is Takumi but does not have ML sound and has original switch positions . Advanced Park Assist is enabled in the car software as is Remote Park.

Many thanks for trying it on yours. I will try downloading the Toyota app while in EU and see if that will work. I may have to attempt to get help from Lexus.es. It does not give me any confidence in help from Lexus UK. The link app is “normal” in EU - but only in Miles not Kilometres! Guidance reverts back to Miles so gives mixed messages on hud unless you reset manually to Km every time you start the car and that is just “unfortunately”. For a £65,000 car that is just rubbish support.

It seems that Lexus UK have decided we cannot have remote park in the U.K. They first tried to tell me that it was illegal and against EU regulations but when I got my MP involved, they then retracted and said it was their mistake and just a Lexus UK decision.. But they have no intention of letting us have it back. ….

The Lexus + app only works in Miles!. Not possible to reset to kilometres if first registered in U.K. So all history and guidance remains in MILES Lexus UK say that is how it is! ( see comment below) And of course the car is registered in U.K. so you cannot download an EU app Are Lexus trying to make their MY24 NX450h+ useless in Europe? It is not just the app … also the route guidance! Try driving with a hud correctly showing km but all the guidance overlay in miles! It possible with a completely counterintuitive manual setting (not the auto setting of region that you are in) to get it into kilometres but it resets into miles whenever you switch off the car. You have to set it back to manual Miles then reset it to manual Km every time you get in the car! I am quite definitely in the South of Spain at the moment. But… Based on regional location …. Only MPG (Imperial) is available. Again Lexus UK no help….

Is this just the U.K. or is it in the EU as well? It seems Lexus is determined to destroy any good reputation in the U.K.

Where it would be particularly useful is the unpark facility if it were allowed on our LexusLink app as they have in the USA and Canada. Great when cars park too close! But disabled in the U.K.

Simply change to existing policy. Change of vehicle, no other change. When I changed the car a few weeks ago, I got a rebate from 22/23 policy that was as much as the new annual increase! One question that was specifically asked : had I added any extra security to the car - I got distinct impression that adding further security Increased the insurance charge!

Something seems to change every night. Features added or removed. very definitely work in progress. I wish they would just give us the USA version. so much more available there, such as start and drive without any key, (great to just use cellphone if you only have one key) park and unpark ( very useful for tight spaces where difficult to enter/exit car)

So changing from a RAV4 to NX450h+ Takumi, I expected an increase both from car type and substantial annual increase. The actual increase was £22 for the year. No changes to terms. 4% 🙂 🙂 🙂 So it would seem insurers (such as NFU) recognise that the NX is a safer car on the road. 🙂 It may be due to added security with the one key switching off transmission if left alone lying on table for a few minutes (not had that confirmed)

I have used it on leaving a parking space - not trusted parking entry yet. It seems quite slow and is very noisy with warnings.
