If Lexus have any sense and respect for customers, the keys are small enough to airfreight at relatively zero cost.

seeing the attention to the left wheel arch, those are CANBUS attacks. Hopefully not so easy on the new NX models and a metal plate is being retrofitted on the RX. Should be available for the older NX too, perhaps with a bit of pressure on Lexus U.K.

Stats on NX 450h+ Predicted EV Range
BillSt replied to Harrier Man's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
In Spain so temps do not fall below 10C at night and typically 17C daytime. EV range 46;44 but cannot understand the Total range with A/C being so much lower than Fuel range. Just assume the app is totally unreliable. -
Still waiting for second key but had these fitted by dealer when I received my car in August They do exist.

New Lexus Link + app released 18th Aug
BillSt replied to imgo's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
It may be that Lexus are changing their end of the software/data and that requires a new download and reconnect of the apps. Possibly even the car is changed. Both iOS and Android versions stopped working, would not accept passwords, until I contacted Lexus U.K. and then deleted both apps and reinstalled with a password change of my Lexus account. -

New Lexus Link + app released 18th Aug
BillSt replied to imgo's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
It seems that a new updated version may be out today (13/12/23). I had to delete both Android and iOS apps and also reset Lexus login password then reload apps. They did recover data. Yet to see if the charge time bug has been fixed. -
My dealer did not. Another dealer did. Guess which dealer I will use in future.

The single key was supplied with a numbered tag. This was supposed to allow a replacement key to be available quickly.

Insurance renewal - pleasant surprise
BillSt replied to BillSt's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Insurance largely depends upon the group. Cost of car, cost of repairs, availability of spares and importantly, built in active safety systems; which is why Tesla and our NX are actually in a low group compared to cost of car. After that companies will get whatever they can. https://insurance-edge.net/2023/01/05/thatcham-research-lists-its-top-ten-ncap-rated-cars-of-2022/ -
20inch Runflats vs 18inch non-runflats
BillSt replied to Richard77's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
With my X3, the biggest gain was the road noise when I changed to non runflats. With the silenced windows of the NX Takumi, the road noise is so much lower anyway. The main reason I might lose the 20” runflats will be the difficulty getting replacements if I did get a puncture. 18” 50s are much easier at the moment. -
Car seat stretching
BillSt replied to Richolf's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Only done about 3k miles but have ventilated seats. No sign of any stretching but my detailer did treat them just after I got the car. I tend to slide into seats and did have stretching on both Merc and BMW. I’m also about 100kg. I would agree with above. Lexus need to sort yours. -

My dealer had trouble finding this setting. Known as the Summer setting. -
20inch Runflats vs 18inch non-runflats
BillSt replied to Richard77's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I had an X3 with runflats. Changed to non runflats and found big difference. Was very concerned initially that my NX450h+ came with 20” runflats and was expecting to need to swap them for 18”. But found it OK. Most of my usage has been in Spain with rather better roads than U.K. however. -
Did you still get the card key in June? I did see someone report receiving one early August.

New Lexus Link + app released 18th Aug
BillSt replied to imgo's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I am using the granny plug in a 15A socket (EU), spare from water heater now replaced with solar thermal. It takes 7.5 hours to fully charge from 0 miles EV with the car set on low. The actual current is measuring at 2.3kw. I have not tried the high charge rate yet as I am running through a 15m extension cable. No warming of cable or connectors even at 30C outside. Seems no point in getting a wall box as I intend using solar voltaic with battery to charge overnight. -
I received my 450h+ Takumi in August. I queried the lack of card key when collecting the car and was told by Lexus UK that they had withdrawn it from the spec. as it could not carry the latest security chips. (I do not believe that but what can we do) I have seen a US post that those not receiving a second method of using the car such as card key, would get priority with the second key fob - yet to see any sign of that in the U.K. i did get the locking wheel nuts (edit bolts!) correction with the car (and the paper manual) - lucky there but did miss out on the upgraded sound system. On the Harry Junior point about the summer programming of key lowering all windows and opening roof, I spend the winter in southern Spain so have used that. Well worth asking for it to be done. We use it even at this time of year if car has to be left out in the sun. Saves flattening the battery with Climate, if the app do deign to work.

New Lexus Link + app released 18th Aug
BillSt replied to imgo's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Has anyone found a way to get a reasonable charge time without going to the car? Car tells me 5 hrs. App tells me 45days. It seemed to have been updated last night as the charge time was in thousands of hours. -
12V battery problem
BillSt replied to David Williamson's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Previous cars, BMW X3, Auris and RAV4, all had an automatic switch that disabled all extras except the alarm, whenever the battery became low. When returning to the car there was a message on screen to say that had been done even though there was still enough energy in the battery to start the car, perhaps somewhat reluctantly. Also, with BMW, if airbags had been deployed, all doors were unlocked. Not sure if this occurs with Lexus. Seems a pity that Lexus could not manage the same but may be due to the motor generator requiring more power. -
Lexus Link+ upgrade to MyToyota
BillSt replied to dts439's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Nothing new there. I was around when Microsoft were developing MSDOS and Windows from SmallTalk. Exactly the same in those early days before they discovered Betatesting. Our problem is that Lexus UK are doing their own mickeymouse development and not relying upon what has already been done and tested in the USA. -
Is there any point in having a strong password?
-
Many use their phone to access bank accounts. Facial recognition and biometric scans are secure enough for that so why not for car?
