  1. It could be a cell is down so it charges up to 12V but when there's a load put on it it can't hold 12V.
  2. Yep, the pre face lift RC is not susceptible to the canbus theft issue.
  3. Hi David I may join you at some point but I fear without the RC as it's going on Friday to be replaced with a Toyota Hilux. Loved the RC but after trying to to make the RC work I realised that trying to carry a passenger and everything I need to take to events the RC is just not big enough.
  4. Actually it was a "WOW nice car" as he almost fell off his bike while trying to look at the car over his shoulder.
  5. I really enjoy mine, quiet yes but that can be effected by tyre choice, I run Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric on the rear (puncture at 6 in the morning leaving me with not a lot of choice and a 25 mile motorway journey in front of me) mind you they are very good tyres, still have Bridgestones on the front. Check what spec you go for either F-sport or Tukomi are the choice to make but try and get on with the Mark Levison audio if audio is important, however I find the standard audio in mine fine. The RC300h will never beat a hot hatch or its like off the line but pop it in Sport+ when your moving and it has got a little spirit under the bonnet, it's best suited to winding A roads running in Sport or Sport+ mode just watch the right foot as it wants to push. Oh and because of the spirit when in S or S+ the fuel consumption does increase. I tend to use S+ for over taking, S for a fun drive and normal/comfort for every day driving, tried Eco and that was terrible, throttle response was slow and fuel economy was worse than normal mode. If pushed on a bend it will understeer. As far as I'm aware they are reliable cars, except for the Lexus fuel tank filler hose recall (check it's been done) I've not had any issues. The Sonic red (code 3T5) is not any easy colour to spray so if you find one with minor paint damage it may be more expensive than you think to respray, not sure about the other colours. Oh if you get one looking like mine you do get comments (good), I've had cyclists shout out, some others stare trying to work out what the car is then come up to me and one guy asked if he could have s*x with it!!!! Not sure if the last one is good though.
  6. Yep Sonic Red code 3T5 is a special paint and not easy to match when doing resprays which adds to the cost of repairs. It is indeed multi layer with I believe silver as a base then a clear type red over that but with a bit more to it than what I just explained.
  7. Have a look here https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/lexus/rc300h
  8. @DAW No problem, I'll be heading back there soon myself as they have sourced black wheel and locking nuts for my wheels. I've been looking since getting the wheels done, I managed to find wheel nuts but had no luck finding black locking nuts. These guys with their contacts made a few phone calls and can get them. If you go they are located next to a Toyota dealer (Steven Eagell) and behind a Gulf petrol garage, there's a body shop, mechanics workshop and EMP exhaust workshop all in the one place. EMP did my custom axle back Powerflex exhaust.
  9. @DAW David I got these done by Herts Wheels they also do tints and wraps which how I first found them, they are based in Frogmore near St Albans worked out at £400 for all 4 wheels. Link to their site https://www.hertswheels.co.uk/
  10. You cloud go the option I did to my OEM wheels. (With new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric's on the rear)
  11. I do approx 16K miles per year in my 2018 RC300h F-Sport I average around 42MPG doing 25mile each way commutes mainly in 'Comfort' mode, don't use Eco mode as that is worse on fuel economy and slower to pick up on acceleration. The best speed for economy is 73MPH indicated which is actually 70-71, my speedo reads 2-3MPH fast, I average 550mile to the tank and on premium fuel normally get 2MPG better than on regular but I normally only use premium every third fill. Remember the RC is a GT not a sports car but in Sport + mode it can bring a smile and flick it into that mode for a quick overtake. Recently I fitted a custom axle back performance exhaust and a K&N air filter, the car does seem to have found a few more horses and the traction control does also cut in a lot more than it used to (rear tyres and in good condition, don't know for how long though!), in sport + mode with hard acceleration I can even now hear induction noise and also the engine now revs more freely. It was noticed and mentioned by the mechanics fitting the exhaust that the standard one has a restrictor just before the final back box, that restriction is no long there on mine. I have the standard audio which if listening to the radio is fine and at 'normal' volumes is ok but turn it up to ear bleeding levels and it distorts and gets tinny, I keep it down and am happy even on motorways. Standard SAT nav is fine I've had worse, only issue I have is you need to know the street name not just the postcode to find a route which doesn't always work when going to events located in the middle of the country.
  12. An audible and visual change; Power Flex custom axle back, there is now noise when ever the engine is running and the restriction that is in the OEM pipe has been removed. The engine now rev's more freely and it feels like it has released a few horses! No horrid drone and still fairly quite when at idle but boot it and all hell lets loose. It got cleaned after I took the photo
  13. I've found Formula E to be boring and I'll admit I also find F1 boring I used to enjoy F1 but the difference between the cars is so great that the lower teams have no chance. For my racing excitement I turn to the Oz V8 Supercar series. Oh the 1000 in the Bathurst title equals 1000Km. In this race they even change brake pads on a pit stop!
  14. @NemesisUK @Jgtcracer Service carried out on Monday and tracking checked, no issues and the tyres still have 4.5 - 5mm tread depth so I'll not be changing them for at least a year as they had 5 - 5.5mm last year.
  15. Well the issue is my tires do not yet require replacing but the tracking issue was highlighted when I had the wheels done. It's going in for it's 5 year service in two weeks so will get done then, if there is excess wear on a tire then I'll change them. Errr..... while at a petrol garage filling up yesterday had two guys walking past to their vehicle stop and look the car over nodding then one asked if I'd mind if he had s*x with it!!!!!! 😝
