  1. As my MP has stated, the vote will be a clear win for Sir Keir, so stop wasting your time. Get over it, he says
  2. The majority of retirees are homeowners, thus they might actually be £900 wealthier. However, what about the older people who rent? This is from a housing association, and it increased by approximately £600 this year and £600 last year. However, it's likely that Sir Kier overlooked both those individuals and the increase in council tax.
  3. I have the Dunlop, made in Japan, which I find excellent low noise. £285 each supplied and fitted by Lexus
  4. The local conservative mp's are sending out emails to all on their database, so keep an eye for this with regards the winter fuel allowance
  5. On a side note, with UK labour in turmoil on most matters come November, it might work to Donald Trump's favour. He can say, "Look at UK labour; voting for the Democrats and unions will spell disaster for the USA."
  6. How do come to that conclusion. I would have thought most labours mp's will do the right thing and vote in favour of the pensioners
  7. Keir Starmer 'bows to pressure' for vote on winter fuel allowance cuts (msn.com)
  8. Presumably, the elderly population will have to establish a political party akin to reform, which was necessary because the general public's opinions were disregarded. It's possible for extremely skilled retirees to lead the pensioners party, but who knows how it would work out. I have done volunteer work for the community for 45 years, both locally and virtually. Those who asked me to volunteer online claim that I am more effective to others because I have always performed volunteer work for free at great personal expense, which many would consider foolish. I would agree.
  9. Indeed, Steve, there will be no debate despite the signatures being over the 1000,000 threshold for a debate?
  10. The mp's won't care they have 5 years of earning £91,346, plus expenses, and then just move on. Those that get re-elected will be laughing and for some they will stay on the gravy train for life that's £4,864.79 take home monthly and the payback of the student loan where applicable
  11. They have all complained to sir Keir, but he's not listening and told them to move on subject closed
  12. I got the same thou verbally from my new labour mp, as I know the mp very well. Like me, he said you're wasting your time
  13. Throughout history, the pensioners along with the long term sick and disabled have always suffered the worst from all political parties and that will never change.
  14. I can't quote the past, I'm just going on the present. You do have the right to change your mind over time if you find that the way forward is not working. This is where she finds herself today, with a mandate for not going back. Trumps views have never changed, so the USA folk need to be mindful of that, as it could be their downfall if elected.
  15. She covers all the basics and more with a true belief. This is the type of mp we so desperately need in the UK to be able to go forward
  16. This is the message Keir should have sent out but fell well short
  17. If only we had an MP that sounded positive. This country never has had one, and there lies the overall problem with the UK should someone ever come across a positive clip from a mp, then do please let it be shown
  18. I just use Gatwick Lexus because the staff overall are OK. Especially the lead service engineer, who is a master and knows everything about Lexus cars. Having said that, this does depend on you, your background, and how you fit with your personality into the business model
  19. There has never been a conservative, period, who has been comparable to Tim Walz or Kamala Harris. People claim that UK MPs are boring and that Americans talk better. That's absurd. My daughter had to leave the nation for Australia after spending five years in the Westminster bubble because the atmosphere there was so toxic and nasty that she encountered the same people everywhere she went, with the lords patronising and condescending her. Tim and Kamala know all about people as do i having spent 50 years of my life in public service. If i could have spoken like Tim, then i would have been the prime minister on a liberal ticket as a labour ticket in the UK is just as negative as the conservatives hence Nigel Farage now having to join in because of the negativity
  20. There is no denying that the Labour Party has performed poorly. We were all aware that their manifesto had contained nothing noteworthy prior to the election, and the only thing that could be certain was that it would change. Since the cabinet members of the conservative party were all extremely negative and out of touch, just like Trump, the public was unable to support them. Elections should be positive, like we see in the USA right now with Kamala Harris and Tim talking about positive change, not like ours, which are every five years negative and leave us in the same bad situation as the previous five years. What I say is that if you are unable to speak to your people in a speech like Tim and Kamala Harris, then just keep your mouth shut and go away and get out of politics.
  21. i have the Dunlop that came with my UX in 22 which I find quiet. £285 each supplied and fitted by Lexus
  22. We will need to see how the promises of Kamala Harris's positions on 10 key issues pan out if she becomes the next president
  23. You need to remember they can't back track on this as the country's broke. You can only get money by stopping pensioners and sick and disabled benefits, and that's the end of it and always has been.
