  1. Only the ‘Takumi’ has auto folding mirrors. In my premium pack, i got the sunroof but no heated steering wheel. These things don't bother me, but when you pay extra, it's just a common courtesy to know what you're getting. My dealer had no idea about good manners and subsequently most of the staff have left along with the manager. I'm determined to get the dealership at my level like the takumi level of service it might take some time as there is still one other person I don't like there, but I'm getting there little by little
  2. i think your best bet is to look at the UX models in the showroom and if like yours then you can be sure there is no fault. However, if yours is different in any way then there is a fault and the dealer must fix it
  3. If you post a better photo of the fault, then the members might be able to assist you further
  4. It's not wise to go against the dealer. If you think there is a fault, then you need to tell head office and put in a complaint. They will send someone out for another inspection. If the rubber seal is at fault, it will look in some way faulty under a microscope
  5. Thanks for the update, Justin
  6. Indeed Barry as i said above, the so-called Lexus special service is only available in Japan everyone else gets what they're given even if they paid additional money like i did with the premium pack plus it makes no difference as the UK staff don't care about that type of thing, they know nothing to start off with what they're doing in a car showroom like a Lexus only god knows
  7. As i say, this so-called Lexus thing of quality of service is only for the Japanese market and for those that live in Japan
  8. i like him and for me, he's very accurate with his views on electric cars
  9. This is lee and this is his pet hate, his Porsche Taycan
  10. i'm with Lexus, but at £700 a year I'm not sure, I'll stay. i don't mind paying extra, but think it's a bit over the top
  11. Also, no heated steering wheel another forgetful moment
  12. That's Japanese manufactures for you to be frank, the UK management woulden't even know about that stupidity and am sure it's just a typical Japanese oversight as for getting it working in your car no problem with a qualified dealership most aren't, and you will get a blank look as for myself, I just live with it
  13. I'm afraid I get shocking service, they don't like me as i reported to the chief executive of continual bad service all round and upset everyone with staff leaving that was a good thing at the time and have not been back yet as the manger and service manager still remain in place. If i won't a quiet life, i'd send them all home Tim, the lead in the servicing of the cars thou is very good and I guess you dealt with him
  14. A day job at Gatwick Lexus is around £1000 and ask for Tim. i have only met him once, but he has vast experience and came across as genuine. The dealer overall is not great, so take care. As i say Tim is excellent so would only choose him to do any type of work and if not walk away
  15. Short distances in the winter, expect to get around 40 MPG long distance 50 MPG long motorway 60 MPG
  16. Hi friends one of the switches on the headliner dashboard says "off" i presume this means the car alarm? If so, does it light or give some indication when on or off as it has no click to the switch thanks
  17. i have the Dunlop run flat made in japan very quiet on all surfaces
  18. Personally, ed Australia has a far better work-life balance and that's a big step forward, especially when getting started in life with your own home. Sure, New Zealand is a much better fit for my daughter, but she went with her friends from uni having lost all faith in this government. She's unlikely to come back as there is nothing here for her
  19. Indeed, peter, not good but will keep trying
  20. Just an update on my meeting with the chief executive of Lexus. He's been very busy with ongoing problems and hasn't got back to me, so I must therefore presume our meeting at some point has been cancelled. I will of course let you know if that changes, but from my lifelong experiences of meetings with chief executives it's unlikely to take place as in general they don't care for the public at anytime and that's been my experiences of chief executives across the board they are mainly lawyers and accountants by educational degrees and are not at all good at talking to the public or of any use in a customer focused group Sorry about that, but these things happen with good intentions going nowhere. I think my youngest daughter summed up the problem, working for one of the government's agencies. She found the mp's and lords not what she expected patronizing, condescending, raciest etc and not only quit after 4 years of working with the rubbish she has now quit the country for Australia well that's education for you and that's what young people will do, they're not prepared to just stand idol and take the nonsense this government dishes out she's doing very well in Australia, just a pity it came to that, but I did warn her what the government was like as i myself am retired from the establishment she did the right thing thou, and that's to work it out for herself and not just to take my advice. Better to try something and fail or to spend the rest of your life thinking if only
  21. Having said that, it still from time to time says the password is in correct. I no longer use the Lexus connect as it's nothing special
  22. Many thanks peter much appreciated 🙂
  23. Does anyone here put any type of Silicone grease etc on the seal of the sunroof on their UX car. The reason I ask is that the seal is rather slim and in a vulnerable place with regard to the extremes in the weather
  24. Thanks guys 🙂
