  1. Very Wise... Get your Car To A lexus Dealership who can pinpoint the problem Scientifically...
  2. AL.. Get A Milenco Steering wheel or Stoplock pro Steering lock.. Any Rank Amateur will have great difficulty Stealing your lexus.. If its a professional car thief However ITS OFF.....Ps Install a CCTV covering 24/7 where your car is parked I have one and if anybody approaches my car day or specifically Through the night I KNOW ABOUT IT...Cost you from Ring A small monthly subscription But WELL WORTH IT Hope that Helps Sir...
  3. IF You Think About It.. The default setting is Passenger doors and Boot will not be opened unless the driver is in the car and opens his door or presses the global unlock button This is to prevent say.. a young child trying to inadvertantly open the passenger doors or open the tailgate..However this can be changed in the settings menu.If However the passenger door handle is acivated twice this will open the appropriate door under any circumstance...
  4. Would Agree To A point. .If A Professional Thief Wants Your Car Then.. ITS OFF ..Steering Locks CCTV And the like Won't Be any Good..However remember that the Majority of Car Thefts Are committed by Amateur Criminals Opportunists Who stumble across a prime vehicle.. Just like your Lexus.. Relay Theft poses a big problem to the police as the criminals are using technology to Highjack your key fob signal ..so don,t make it easy for them ..Always put your car keys in a tin box or faraday pouch and don,t place your keys Where a thief can easily find them or target the keyfob signal.. In short do everything possible to make Your pride and Joy Safe and Secure... I Personally like CCTV but Take your Point..Ron.. Happy New Year Sir..
  5. The Answer To Your Question Is NO To the best of my Knowledge The key fob Emits a Contact Signal Constantly when Acivated And the only way to stop this emission is by switching your key fob OFF or puting your keys in a Faraday Pouch or tin type box.. ps Good idea to install a camera connected to ring and have it monitor your parked lexus 24 hrs a Day This does require a small subscription to Ring BUT in my opinion WELL worth it.. Hope that Helps !!
  6. Hi Lex My Strong advice is Forget about other garages or Mechanics It needs looked at by a Lexus electrical Technician If you dont do this it will cost you much more in real terms.. But Its Your Call..!!!
  7. I Would get Your Lexus to Your Local Dealership This Needs checked Out Soon As...!!!!!
  8. Would the Haynes Manual be of Great use here.. It would Illustrate the correct procedure on how to replace This Component... Just a Thought.!!!
  9. Adrian.. Just a Thought Do you put a steering wheel lock on the car at night Some of these are pretty heavy and tend to put pressure on the steering wheel at at a predisposed angle Worth mentioning just in case this is pulling the steering wheel off alignment...Ron Merry Christmas To You and all The Family..
  10. Possibly.. The Start Of Phaecal Cataracts Depending on Your age.. Usually The first signs of this are Bright lights Affecting the Quality of your Vision ..Good idea to get Your Optician to check this out.. Also if you are Pre-Diabetic this can pose further problems with your eyesite...Worth a visit even just to rule out these possibilities.....
  11. Andy.. Have a look at the Milenco steering Wheel lock .I bought mine several months ago and in my opinion it fits the bill exactly Great fit on the wheel between the Two struts and looks good .Bit pricey but does the job..worth a look but remember Andy if a professional car thief wants your car Its AWAY..Ring cctv security 24/7 on your car is another recommendation i would make...Seasons Greetings Ron

  14. For Me.. It must be The Samsung upright Hoover we bought a Few years ago.. Looked great.. But was so Heavy It was like pushing a tractor And there customer service was Diabolical The worst i have EVER come across..
  15. Steve.. I Can Really Understand your Absolute frustration with this and i know exactly what you are Saying.. so as long as it does, not blow open forget about it ..It will really Annoy you as you get more and more focused on it.. I have done the same in the past but learned There are things in life you just have to move on with.Peace Brother ...Bet you win the lottery This week...lol
  16. Has it ever blown open steve..? When the car is unlocked to open the flap simply press down RH side and it will spring open at least thats what mine does..when refuelled just push the flap back to its normal position And you should feel a little click which holds it shut.. Do You Think we.ll get a job At Nasa...lol
  17. Steve ...When the car is locked you CANT Force the fuel compartment open as a round bar protrudes to lock the car when unlocked the bar is retracted and does not hold the flap shut..Hope that helps.. Regards ..Ron
  18. Steve.. Have just checked my fuel cap lock and The fuel compartment lid will definately NOT open when the car is locked...So when i press the unlock button on the key fob i can hear clearly an unlock sound coming from The fuel cap lid Keeping the lid open i then locked the car and can see the mechanism working just directly above the conical rubber micro switch which monitors opening and closing the compartment....I had a similar problem with my Skoda Octavia and had to pour boiling water on to the mechanism to get it to work WD 40 might also help here..Eventually the problem cleared of its own accord.. You might want to try that ...Remember the purpose of the locking mechanism is to protect the fuel system from anyone putting any foreign material in to your system I would definately get this looked at ..Any mechanic worth his salt would be able to fix this for you..Hope that helps..Failing all else take it to your Lexus Dealer Regards..R
  19. Must Check this out Steve..Like you i thought it had a push latch mechanism Which held it shut when car unlocked..Really Must check this out.. Will Let You Know..Ron
