  1. Its getting closer. Pinged by the App to signal that it has arrived at Portbury. Funny that it's less than 10 miles from where I live and yet its journey now involves going to Derby, then to Swindon, then to Bristol for PPF/ceramic coating and then hopefully in 4 weeks to its new home.
  2. One will be arriving in North Somerset very shortly 🤞
  3. Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. And to all those who dismissed rubber ones, you have convinced me. Stick with carpet;/velour, give them a clean and replace when needed
  4. Thanks, but it appears they don't make them for the LC 500. It appears there are some disadvantages of having a rare car!
  5. Thanks! yes, I think you are right, either white or light beige, difficult with the light to know. I have asked the dealer to order a spare set, but unfortunately stock supply probs so not available to order currently. I am searching the net for bespoke alternatives plus no Lexus rubber ones for winter but I did find this which us food for thought https://ttw-autotrim.co.uk/
  6. Hi, I have a convertible regatta model on order. I was thinking of ordering additional carpet style mats to match what comes with the car. I am assuming carpet type mats come with it. In this way I can actually use them in Summer without putting rubbers down until Winter but still have a back up pair to make the car look like new again. Especially relevant given the regattas interior colour. Am I correct in thinking the mats which come with the car are colour matched to the interior? Thanks.
  7. Thanks, I can't resist giving that a go!
  8. I think you did well with the red on black. One of the nicest used ones I've seen. I considered a Maserati convertible myself but reliability and rust concerns against a potential 10 year Lexus warranty and the conservative me took over! I am not sure you would have faired much better with cash. They turned down my 85 cash bid against their 89 offer at the time.
  9. Thanks, and add to that the white and blue leather interior and we are in dreamland. I have told my wife that we'll have to cruise the sea fronts of Clevedon and Weston Super Mare. Its not exactly the grand corniche of the French Riviera but I am sure it will be fun!
  10. Thanks for your comment and the further wait is nothing compared to the 9 month wait to date! I chose the dark blue with blue roof, I thought it all went well together. As an aside, I nearly bought the car which you bought. Approx. 6 weeks ago, we got an erroneous update that the Regatta spec would not be built til the end of the year. We made an offer on the red one at Tunbridge which was not accepted and then a few days later, we received a further update re March build and therefore did not pursue the Tunbridge one further. I suspect it ultimately sold for something quite close to our offer. I think the red and black work well together, but I also love the look of the Regatta version.
  11. I just got pinged by the App to inform me that mine has left the factory, only a week after going in to build. And now the wait while it is transported across the seas from Tokyo to Portbury. This is quite exciting, anyone know how long the journey takes? I have asked a friend, who is a Bristol Channel pilot to be on the look out for it.
  12. It was an edition which came out last year but just in right hand drive ie for Japanese and UK market. This is the first example I have seen in the UK. It differs from the previous limited edition one in that it is available in all colours but not the special structural blue. Another difference for the eagle eyed is a blue rather than white steering wheel. I have one on order since last June which has just gone in to build stage which Is why I know a little about it. I must admit seeing one in the UK has got me quite excited!
  13. Thanks Geoff, I have just had a quote around that level from the dealer, so I am going to bite the bullet and order one. The other one looks tempting but with the risk attached, I think I will stick with the official part.
  14. Very excited. Just got the ping on the App to say that they have started building my LC conv. regatta version. Hopefully, it should be here for the summer, fingers crossed. thinking about ordering the wind break. Can anyone tell me how much they paid for one and from whom they ordered. I know they are expensive but I suspect they may extend the open air season😀
  15. Thanks, yes there is always hope and the dealership seems just as in the dark. Having reconsidered Mercedes S class, Bentley, BMW and Aston Martin options, I am quickly back to the LC. It's just a question of whether I buy a used one for this summer or hold out for my chosen spec
  16. Great, just got an update on expected delivery, pushed back from March/June to the end of the year and now on the verge of giving up😂
  17. I'd be interested if my LC convertible arrives in time.
  18. Wow, I have just noticed that one of the original limited editions in structural blue is for sale at £125k with 10,000 miles. Dare I say it, but I think that would be a good investment, with I think only 10 made for the Uk. If I had a useable garage I would consider it. My wife, of course, would say its a ridiculous premium over what we are paying for a similar spec but in the standard darker blue.
  19. I I am not sure. I have googled for an answer, but found nothing for the convertible. Given the low number of used ones which come on the market, I can only assume that the overall number is low. Unless, of course, the ownership experience is just so great that no-one wants to sell😀
  20. Would anyone like to guess how many convertibles there are on the road in the UK. I was asked this question in a family discussion but could not find any info on the net about convertible production etc
  21. One month in to my expected one year wait for the convertible. This is going to be difficult, especially as the weather gets better. Tempted to buy a used one but they so rarely come up. Does anyone know how many are on the road currently in the Uk?
  22. My dealer thought it was in the region of a staggering £1500 so at least that's an improvement on that. Our intention, although a long way off, is to take it on a few European tours, so a windshield may come in handy then, but a pain in the ***** to store in the already limited boot and it adds nothing to the looks when in situ. You could buy a fair few cashmere jumpers for that!
  23. Thanks Geoff I think that I was incredibly lucky to find a convertible to test drive only an hours drive away and when they offered me a good deal, I couldn't resist. The downside is the wait, although it does give me time to have my impractically small and therefore unusable garage rebuilt. Can I ask you whether you ordered a wind shield and if so, the cost and benefits etc?
  24. Thanks John for your interest not wanting to sidetrack this thread, I have posted something in the thread 'whose got or ordered a convertible'.
  25. Congratulations Alan, I am very envious. I have just ordered one and have in excess of a year wait. What colour combination did you go for?
