  1. Yes, although, I screwed up copying the stock rear mats, which was even more stupid, given I had adjusted the front ones to what I thought would be a better fit. They could and should be larger, not that its an issue given they will so rarely be used. I should say that I have no connection with the company but would highly recommend their custom mats. Lots of colours, finishing trims etc and I thought £110 for a set of 4 seemed very fair
  2. I have had some custom mats made to order from morethanpolish and am very pleased. I had to send some paper templates since the taylor had not made any for the LC before. But they seem great quality and a great colour match for my interior and a very fair price. The seats in the pics are as far back as they go, so in the normal position the fasteners are less visible. If truth be told, I think I prefer them to the pale cream/white stock ones which are a combo of vinyl and carpet and obviously get dirty very quickly.
  3. We need a group road trip, that'll get your mileage up😀
  4. I paid just under 1k from dealer. Early impressions worth in terms of very little wind feel at 70mph, even though it us a ridiculous price.
  5. Who needs to drive California's Highway 101 when there is the A493 from Barmouth to Aberdovey
  6. Blue driving moccasins already purchased and Mrs. F has been instructed that blue denim is prohibited.
  7. I am having some carpet mats made in navy blue for that very reason!
  8. Wales really has some spectacular scenary
  9. And finally it has arrived...Can't wait for our Welsh Road trip this week.
  10. Everything we dreamt of. And the sun comes out, can't wait for a four day road trip to Wales starting Monday. Photos in show us your LC thread.
  11. 12 hours time and we should eventually be in possession of our new baby. Photos to follow....
  12. This may be a stupid question because I have no experience of warranty claims but do you have to go back to the dealership where you originally bought the car or can any Lexus dealership handle the claim? If that was the case, could the local dealership who thought it was imperfect paint finish not handle it? Or are you claiming on the approved used car warranty rather than the new car (extended up to 10 years warranty)
  13. Thanks for all your comments. Plenty to digest but your views will help me make an informed decision.
  14. Thanks, I am currently between a Scorpion and a Smartrack 5+ Imob, which seems to offer belt and braces type protection but at a price. Its not a subject matter which I can get excited about, my insurance has not requested it, but after waiting for a year, I'd be pretty fxxxed off if it got stolen and yes, I would probably want it back because, I can't just go into the used market and replace it. Still got another 7 days before I get it from the detailers, can't wait.
  15. Thanks for the detailed response, I am researching them now.
  16. Whether better or not, I don't know, but thanks, I will research. What are the downsides, except perhaps, not recognised by insurance.
  17. I am thinking about getting a tracker installed on my new LC convertible. I have not been asked for one by insurance co. but having waited for a year for the car, I'd like to do the best to keep it in my hands. Can anyone recommend a installation/subscription company. I guess that I would look for the latest S5 tracker but I have no previous experience of trackers.
  18. Very good, my daughter said something along the same lines!
  19. Its now arrived at Swindon, getting closer, first road trip to Wales being planned but incredibly another three weeks before pick up, by the time its been prepared by Swindon and Topaz. All very exciting, here is a teaser.
  20. And ditto Andy re Knife use, all pre cut self healing etc. Some of the videos I have watched with Knife use so close to the bodywork are quite scary. I suspect the Topaz film and the Xpel are quite similar and a lot of it is down to the quality of the installation. Until my nephew, a car nut, stepped in and suggested Topaz, I was going to go down the Xpel route.
  21. Please, can someone tell me how to use a quote in this forum!
  22. I am going to Topaz, at their Bristol branch at Aztec West. I have seen some of their YT videos and seem to be very good, but at a price. I have visited their premises and was very impressed. Tonnes of experience in PPF. Its going to be kept outside so I am just trying to give protect it as much as I can. Total PPF plus ceramic coating, roof/wheel and interior protection plus glass coating on all but the windscreen. Although their PPF is expensive, the overall package seems fair.
  23. And yes, very much agree with doing the Carbon cills, an obvious potential scuffing one, especially on my wife's side🤣
  24. I've done ceramic coating on the black external plastic bits on my Mini using Geon Q trim but I am not sure I would trust myself on the bodywork, not on the LC anyway!
