  1. You,re right,Las Palmas...It could be hers the colour is verging on pearescent pink and the hillbilly pickup behind it could place the photo in Kentucky.
  2. The wheels must be well over 20 in. The ride height looks very high..like one of those Rothmans Porsche Dakar rally cars. The tyre profile is the proverbial rubber band.
  3. Or could it be a 200...... They do look cheap though, probably recycled bin lids.
  4. Herbie..I,m not a broker or financial adviser, but was in property for most of my working life, mostly as a Chartered Surveyor doing mostly mortgage valuations. As I understand it there are 2 types of loan available.A mortgage from the likes of Nationwide designed for retired folks like you and me,or a loan from an Equity release company. You need to get independent advice on this and DO NOT rush into it.Brokers and Financial Advisers make their living from selling financial products,so try to get recommendations from friends. There are some very good people out there who will give you good advice, but they are probably outnumbered by the sharks. Get a few opinions and don,t rush into anything.Good Luck with it...I,ll probably be going down the same route too. David
  5. Oh dear. There,s no accounting for taste.. I think I,ll keep mine in sonic red with the standard wheels although red and matte gold look good on a Cayman.
  6. I think repairs are not possible on the outer and inner most tread blocks. The inner ones are fine.
  7. Has it been parked near a railway line? In the early ,80s I had a Lancia Delta new as company car and shortly after getting it,I noticed similar.Immediate thoughts were it was a rusty Italian special, but it transpired that I had left it in along term car park at Gatwick, right next to a railway line for 2 weeks and the garage reckoned it was iron brake dust from the trains.A quick machine polish solved the problem and it never reappeared..whilst I had it. Mind you, with Lancia,s reputation for rustproofing I,m glad it wasn,t my money tied up in it.
  8. Just looked at this video again..did anybody notice that the driver's Macdonalds drink was still sfe in the cupholder...!!! That all for now..I'm off for a Bambi burger..
  9. Did the original Mercedes A class gain notoriety for falling over on failing to "avoid the elk" test
  10. Thank you both. The TRD twin pipe is the sort of look I was after, but just wanting to replace the stainless end trim. As the car has just gone into the body shop for repair,I,ve asked them to hang onto the slightly damaged stainless exhaust end trim so I can accurately measure it and continue the search.
  11. IAt least should only be for 10 days or so.Mustn't complain could have ended up with a small knackered hatchback. At least it seems to handle better than the 4 BM's I had in the 1980's lots of opposite lock in the wet! Still waiting to hear back from Motorola by the way on Android Auto
  12. When I collected the car from Lexus Guildford the salesman's Samsung connected ok(as does my wife's).I strongly suspect it is the Motorola--'Im waiting to hear back from them--like a lot of these large companies now ,they won't speak to you by phone!!! odd for a company that sells phones...same with Vodafone very difficult to by pass their "chatbot" system and when you do you get nowhere, slowly.
  13. My RC has just gone into the bodyshop for repair after some stupid woman drove into the back of me.Her insurers have provided me with an "equivalent" whilst repairs are underway.I'm glad I didn't even bother looking at BMW when I changed cars a couple of months ago. It's fairly noisy ,and nowhere near as smooth as the Lexus (It is a diesel but has 6 cylinders)General finish and equipment well below Lexus standards.-- Not at all impressed. The only positive thing is that it is fairly pokey and a convertible and the sun is just breaking through...
  14. I'm a new member and had a brief look through the site and can't find any mention of this.Has anybody tried to replace the standard stainless ?trapaezoid? exhaust trim with perhaps a one into two end trim.I've looked at ebay and Amazon which both seem to offer many choices, but when you check none fit.
  15. Oops I never read the instructions....Perhaps when I,ve saved up for the extra 2.5 litres and dumped the battery,I,ll be back.

  17. I'm thinking about Gold Membership and see the 15percent Halfords discount, but no mention of what level of discount Gold members get at dealers...for servicing / accessories /parts. Any guidance please?
  18. Thank you Linas.I,ll try again to get through to someone intelligent at Motorola ...probably a lost cause..why do these large organisations make it so difficult for customers to speak to someone who can help, rather than recite off a script?!
  19. I have recently bought the above with the Mark Levinson system and all is working fine-very pleased. However I cannot get my phone (motorola edge 20 lite) to connect to Android Auto.It connects very briefly -for about 1 or 2 seconds then disconnects then constantly shuttles on and off. Ihave tried the obvious things-different cables,re installing AA on the phone to no avail. My wifes Samsung phone easily establishes contact and holds it. Any Ideas anybody, please?
