  1. Agreed with Brett on touchscreen. The dark red upholstery looks very tasteful.
  2. My recent service showed up on the app,but listed it as"major", rather than "minor". The garage haven't been able to correct it on the app. They did send me a screenshot of their system confirming "minor" service. Regarding the app showing only hybrid checks, there is a filter button on that screen which filters hybrid/maintenance/repair.Mak sure it is off on all the options to show all. Incidentally,my garage said Lexus were working on improving the app.Perhaps it would be kinder to take it to the vet and have it put down.
  3. Brian...Is there much difference in petrol prices between the North and South? When I was last over there probably about 12 years ago, petrol was noticeably cheaper in the South.I'm going over there in a few weeks time and will be shuttling to and fro between Fermanagh and Donegal. David
  4. Crazy prices from Lexus. Bought a full set of 4 tailored rubber mats from Carmat World, via eBay, last year for £34.99.They were perfect fit even down to the anchoring points to prevent the front mats creeping forwards. The finish is a tiny diamond shape pattern and I ordered mine without the fabric edge trim.Highly recommended.
  5. I got mine from Euro Car Parts..they have branches in NI.Best price on Denso wipers when I bought in late December.
  6. .....and NFU,because they really are NFU.
  7. You have also the benefit of the Relax extended warranty and the hybrid system check. At the very least this makes up for any mark up from another servicing setup who may not be experienced in Hybrid systems.
  8. There's a very funny video on the BBC news sitehttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-64982398 If that link doesn't work look for"mounted police ride after driver using his phone"
  9. Correction..it was £5100.That included about £1200 of parts and about £1200 for paint materials. If you went to a Lexus body shop they would be used to blending Lexus paint colours. I suggest you get a Lexus quote to compare and make an informed decision.
  10. Andrey -- I too have a(sonic) red RC.Somebody drove into the back of me last year, damaging mostly the plastic bumper. The body shop replaced the bumper and a few other minor parts. The main effort and expense went into the repainting of the car.Even though only the bumper was replaced, the rear third of the car had to be resprayed in order to get the paint to match. They did this perfectly.I used the Lexus body shop for Lexus Reading(it's actually at Jemca Bracknell, part of the same group). It was expensive..about £3500..but paid by the other person's insurers. So if they do a good job, then their figure of£2300 is probably about right.. assuming they do a perfect job. ..
  11. I'm not sure about the SC but the volume can be adjusted in the RC models. What does your manual say?
  12. You really must involve Lexus Ireland in this. That sort of service is simply unacceptable. I would advise you to copy all future correspondence to both the dealer and Lexus.Try to get the name of of the MD of Lexus and address correspondence directly to him, ideally by your equivalent of Recorded Delivery post.Be firm, but fair, in your letters and document everything...dates,times, comments and conversations. That will kick the dealer into touch. Good luck.
  13. How long,if at all, will your reviews last? I left a very negative review for Carlinkit for an electronic device that didn't work. The review disappeared within 5 minutes. I also had problems with Gant clothing recently.Aweek or so later they sent me an automated email asking for a review.I thought"why not" and expressed politely, but assertively,my dissatisfaction. They replied saying my comments did not meet their standards.... I guess this is commonplace with many companies.
  14. https://www.mastermechanicsauto.com/top-reasons-behind-a-cracked-dashboard-in-a-lexus/ Where do you think leather comes from?
  15. I remember reading a few mentions somewhere that dashcams could interfere with dab signals. This was more prevalent when wiring and positioning of the rear camera were close to the dab antenna. For that reason I ran the cable under the door cill and mounted the rear camera below the aerial elements in the rear window. Whether it was by accident or design,I have had no problems.
  16. Just re read the post...the fusebox (in the RC)is in the passenger fóotwell,LHS when facing forward ..you 'll need to remove the glovebox and other bits of trim see video.
  17. https://youtu.be/coL6th3nT0w Try this .... I found it the most helpful and relevant.Be prepared to get into more positions than the Kama Sutra....
  18. I fitted one about a year ago to my RC.Thete was a very good you tube video about fitting a dash cam to an RCF try searching YouTube with RCF and black Vue. I'll see if I can find it for you as well
  19. I shouldn't think for one minute it's leather.Dashboards are plastic unless it's in a really expensive car and even then would be an expensive option. Leather is leather,..it from a cow/bull etc. Tahara "leather" isn't leather, it is plastic/vinyl/manmade...never been near a cow. Same as Mercedes Artico.
  20. John I see from the photo that you didn't keep the original alloy wheels, presumably they corroded and blistered as bad as mine.I think the dealer replaced 4 or 5 of mine under warranty.
  21. I'd suggest you get yourself a set of Telesteps telescopic ladders which should fit anywhere. Before I retired ,I occasionally used my own car rather than the company one and managed to fit my Telesteps behind the passenger seat of both an MR2 roadster and a Cayman.Shouldn't be a problem for a UX.
  22. I can't speak for the unit you are referring to but I recently bought a wireless Android Auto dongle from Carlinkit. It did not work as it was advertised and I had to return it.Carlinkit customer service is abysmal and I wouldn't have anything to do with them.other members on here have had similar problems with them.
