  1. https://youtu.be/G1kXclXVuCE I can't seem to get the hang of attaching You Tube videos. If it doesn't work, search you tube for car wow..my hero. It's about Gordon Murray's new V12 spider.Highly recommended.
  2. The answer to that part,is they're both the same.. unobtainable. The answer to the first part used to be Audi.. everybody's got one that's why they are known as ar5eholes.
  3. There's a brief report on the LC500 in the new,May, issue of Motor Sport magazine with the above heading. The final paragraph sums up the article.."I really liked the car despite its myriad flaws. But would I walk past a Porsche dealer to get one?Not a chance" I can see some of what he means, but having owned both a Porsche and a Lexus,I would certainly feel more comfortable walking past the Porsche dealer. My ongoing bank balance would agree too.
  4. Reading the latest issue of Motor Sport magazine,I noticed that a company called Element 2 is planning to open 30 hydrogen stations in the UK this year.Apparantley that will double the current number. The company is aiming at the haulage industry but cold be seen as another shot at the "milk float " / battery car industry.
  5. That's very interesting Renato.Although I won't need to change my tyres until much later this year, whilst waiting for my garden to dry out,I've been doing some research on tyres. From what I've read here and more generally, the Continental 7 appears pick of the bunch at the moment. The choice,as you've noticed,is limited because of the staggered sizes on the RC. I'm trying to get away from Bridgestone,as the last 4 cars of mine have all had them and I find them quite noisy and on one car, they suffered from cracking. The noise aspect is more noticeable,as the RC is a relatively quiet car,so tyre noise becomes more intrusive.
  6. The happiest looking person amidst all the bowing seemed to be the little hopping midget---he was mighty pleased with his Dinky car.I suspect he may have overdosed on his e numbers.
  7. .....and that dear friends is the one of the secrets of a long and happy marriage.
  8. Perhaps it is because of the date.(1st April, for those not paying attention at the back..)
  9. Yes I read that too.Seems strange to run 2 very similar setups in parallel..but what do I know.Google seem to know what they're doing.I do prefer Google to Waze as the maps are less busy/cluttered.I just find the large "search" box at the top of the screen annoying ..I must see if I can get rid of it. Back to the rest of the Joan Armatrading concert now..
  10. Not sure,Vlad. I lost interest in it as my initial 3 year mapcare has just expired..3 weeks before the update appeared.I have emailed Lexus as they (quite generously)extended Roadside Assistance by 3 months because of the COVID lockdown 3 years ago when the car was sold new. I've asked them if they should include map updates for the 3 month extension, but don't hold out much hope. The £119 they charge for updates buys an awful lot of extra data for my phone so I'll use Google or Waze and have constantly updated maps and live traffic. I guess it covers the 2020 models onwards and possibly earlier... it is the download onto usb stick tha takes forever to download and just as long to upload into the car. How's your back? Back at work?-pun intended.
  11. This has now appeared on the Lexus website for downloading.
  12. You won't regret it Thimmy. Bought mine just over a year ago and I am still very pleased with it.They are really relaxing cars to drive(and own).
  13. Very smart Brett. I see the evidence that you've been down to the local Lexus dealer with your angle grinder, hanging on the wall by the fusebox.
  14. Sounds like the nav. system indicating a delay(of 1 minute) on your planned route.
  15. It might be a dry, dead leaf that has entered the air intake and vibrates as speed increases.
  16. Mark It might be worth a call or email to them.I guess they have some detailed info on the mat/floorwell dimensions and appear to manufacture to order. Granted, the RC is less rare than the LC,but it is hardly a car you see frequently .It might be worth a try. David
  17. If you are looking for rubber mats, try Carmat World on eBay. They supply mats specifically cut to size for your car and come in a fairly low key small diamond pattern in a fairly heavy rubber. They will also supply without fabric edge trim and come with fitted retaining clips to prevent creeping . I don't think your rear mats for an LC will be too expensive..they don't seem much bigger than a smartphone.
  18. Perhaps Sweden is the exception because of the lower temperatures. It is well known that this has an impact on battery life/capacity. You would think that Lexus/Toyota would design their hybrid systems to cope with colder climates. After all, they sell in North America/Canada etc where it is at least as cold as Sweden.
  19. Apparently the speed indication on a GPS/satnav is the most accurate indicator..apart from a calibrated speedgun or sped camera. Using Waze, the speed reads 28 ish mph when the car speedometer reads 30mph.
  20. Thanks for that Brian.Good luck with the wipers.April showers are early again.
  21. I'm sure the manufacturers will tell you otherwise, but I think it would be the same as cleaning your car with fine sandpaper--both will remove dirt, along with paint and any protective coating.
