NX 2022 delivery date
Harrier Man replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Thanks Adrian. That ties in. Starting to feel there is some consistency in delivery dates coming through, which hasn't always felt to be the case. -
NX 2022 delivery date
Harrier Man replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Just had the call-back from my dealer. He could only tell me for certain that 'my' car hasn't been allocated a build slot yet and that parts made in Asia are delayed because of covid. He now reckons it will be 3 months before I can take delivery; That's on par with the August estimate Joe's dealer gave him. Ah well, time to read the 1300 pages of the manual again and to watch again Deep Dive 1 and 2 😉 -
Fuji Red

Thanks Daniel, I think my brain is gradually averaging out all the subtle variations I'm seeing on screen; hopefully my mental image will arrive at something close to reality when I see my car in the flesh. The same configurations look different on my HP laptop than they do on my Apple Macbook (not a surprise to me). I checked out the google images too on my desktop (which has dual screens but from different manufacturers) and the images are different on each screen. But, even when the images are compared side-by-side on the same screen, some appear as an orangery red (the twitter and drive-green images) and some look a much deeper red (topgear). I'm not at all worried. I know how different the same image can appear on different monitors and how the original image can vary depending on the lighting at the time the image was captured. However, it is still nice to hear from Don, Ken and Peter how much they like the NX in red. -

PS. I watched the Youtube video in Rayaan's post as I don't have facebook. Assumed it would be the same as the facebook Lexus Scotland link but maybe the two are different?? -
Fuji Red

Thanks guys. I watched the video (although I found the synthetic, computerised commentary completely out of keeping with the 'hand-crafted' image of a Lexus). The Youtube page had links to other videos of red NX and I watched these too. Only one referred to the colour by name, "Redline" and when I went on the US Lexus site and built a US spec NX, I chose Redline and here, on my laptop, side by side, Redline looked a different shade of red to the Fuji red model on the UK site. A trick of the light? Down to the photography? The interiors of the videos were different to the UK spec too, confirming that the video above (a LHD drive model) is from a different country. Do Lexus have the same colours across the world with different names? Or are there different shades for different countries? -
I have ordered my NX in Fuji Red but I haven't seen a real car in this colour. The only guide I have is from the website but I have no idea if this is a good approximation or not. Life more difficult as computer monitors vary greatly in their ability to faithfully reproduce true colour. I haven't seen any videos or still shots from testers driving a red car; save, possibly, one Australian report that may or may not have been an NX in Fuji Red. Has anyone seen this colour? Is it a cherry red or a deep red? Please tell me it looks good! Ah, life is such an adventure into the unknown 😉

NX450h+ premium doors
Harrier Man replied to mickbrit's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Does this help? From page 732 of the manual. Also something on page 138. "To prevent a door from being opened accidentally, when the power switch is in ON, after an inside manual release handle is operated once, operation will automatically be disabled after approximately 1 second." -
NX 2022 delivery date
Harrier Man replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I'm another one who isn't proactively contacted by my dealer but, on the plus side, when I do request an update, I have been phoned and the dealer has been happy to chat for half an hour and give me as much info as he can. I ordered my 450h+ in early February with 22nd May shown as the expected delivery date on the order form. About a month ago, I was told that I still hadn't been allocated a build slot but it was still hoped I would get delivery in June. Interesting that Joe has a forecast of August - if, realistically, mine is the same then I would probably feel obliged to wait until the new registration in September; adding to the frustration. If I her nothing early next week, I'll prompt my dealer again as it will be a month since I last had contact with them. -
NX450h+ Wallbox installation

Thanks Doctor. I'm in the same position - waiting for my car so that I can test the charger! -
NX450h+ Wallbox installation
Harrier Man replied to RXtoNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
British Gas have installed a charger for me, including a Matte (which I believe negates the need for an earthing spike) but coming from the matte (installed next to the main panel inside the house) is a thin black wire that goes outside to a blue clip that surrounds the main grey inlet cable (see photos). Does anyone know what this is for? -
eCall SOS system

The eCall system is described in Section 7.1 page 570 of the 450h+ manual, including picture of the SOS button location (sorry but I couldn't copy it here on this computer). -

I asked my dealer the same question and he replied saying that the cable was 5m in length. -
Cross bars for panoramic roof
Harrier Man replied to jamesinchamonix's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I have purchased a couple of these inflatable roofracks to transport my paddleboard the 8 miles from home to the area I use. They work and are easy to use and fit but there are a couple of things to think about. One of each pair that I've had leaks air slowly; not a problem for my short distance but I wouldn't trust them for a long run. I think it's the design of the valve that leaks rather than a puncture. Mine were around £25 (each pair) so the quality is reflected in the low price. Better models are available for more money. They don't take much weight but as they would be resting on the glass roof, you wouldn't want to carry anything that wasn't light anyway. There would be a risk so I am not advocating inflatable roofracks in this application but I hope my experience might provide more information to help you decide what might work in your particular situation. -

Julie had a similar idea, see the thread, "Where is my standard battery on my 2022 nx450h?". Of course, solutions vary depending on what the tracker needs to operate. -

I agree, could be useful. A recent Channel 5 programme on 'Should I buy an electric car?' featured a Kia that was powering an electric fondue plate where the demonstrator was cooking meat and rice. Not sure if that was 230V but it certainly looked useful to be able to power certain items from the car.

From page 314 of the manual, it looks like there isn't. Just one below the instrument panel and one on the rear console for the rear passengers. -
NX450h+ EV mode test drive
Harrier Man replied to Chance521's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
My desktop research suggests Tesla chargers are only for Tesla owners. There is a trial going on where other vehicles can use them but the trial applies to rapid DC chargers, and these are not compatible with the NX. I believe you also need a Tesla account. Some companies, like BP Pulse and Shell, charge a lot for their chargers, 50p/kW in some cases. Having a subscription account can reduce those costs but at 50p/kW, the electricity is as expensive as petrol on a per mile basis. Of course, charging at home is a lot less, even taking recent price rises into account. Many other public chargers are around 28-30p/kW. The advantage of the BP and Shell EV stations seems to be that their chargers work, whereas many others do not. In Scotland, many chargers have been supported under the Charge Place Scotland network and, until recently, many of these provided free electricity. However, Councils have found reliability of the chargers is not as high as expected and have, therefore, introduced (or are about to introduce) charges so that they have the income necessary to keep the chargers operating. Charging policies vary and are changing as local authorities learn about this brave new world. Some of these policies really don't suit the NX. For example, they have a 45 minutes time limit before a penalty is applied; enough juice for about 10-12 miles of electric only motoring. Others have a fixed fee per session, £3.80 around my way. Good value if charging a full EV from empty but very poor value for topping up a small battery (as are fitted to PHEV)
