  1. I’ll second that last phrase 👍
  2. Just had a call from my dealer. The original and recently confirmed delivery date of June for my 450h has now been reconfirmed as “could be as late as August.” TBH I’ve been expecting the call. Does it bother me, - no the cars purchase price is fixed and the p/x price is fixed so has zero financial impact. Try getting Land Rover to fix either of these & they will just laugh at you. Been there, done that and walked away.
  3. Must be a pretty straight forward installation. I can’t get an installation date until Octopus give me a date for fitting a double pole 100amp isolator. For all qualifying free installations after the grant runs out, dealer has confirmed to me that the £350 will be for the account of Lexus if the installation would have normally qualified for the grant. BG will invoice Lexus directly. Fingers crossed that the dealer is correct 🤞
  4. We have up on Land Rover when we bought the RX 4 years ago, after 2 Range Rover Sports and a Discovery Sport, the latter which we rejected at 15 months old and finally obtained a full refund due to a catalogue of faults. Arrogant dealers supported by an arrogant company. Lexus have been a dream in comparison, both customer appreciation wise and quality wise.
  5. @Caspa All we can do is wait & see, I guess there is likely to be a few events which may influence this either way not yet foreseen. TBH any deviation from the original delivery date, within reason, doesn’t bother me. More important, from my perspective, is the fact that both the purchase price and p/x value are contractually locked in irrespective of what the resulting end delivery date is.
  6. Just been advised by our dealer that Lexus are still, as of their update of yesterday, quoting June delivery for our 450h ordered on 31st Jan We will wait & see
  7. I’m in the red camp 😛 Current RX F sport is Sonic Titanium with red interior, Lotus Evora is Essex Blue with red interior But yes, all personal choice. That is why there is a choice 👍
  8. I think it’s just that the parcel shelf is a one piece section of flimsy, flexible flocked card which attaches to the tailgate by straps so that it lifts up when opening the tailgate. I didn’t study it much but on 1st appearance it looked cheap & not in keeping with the quality of everything else. TBH it is only a minor trivial point to me but I would have preferred the cassette roller type of boot cover
  9. Had our BG survey today. It seems as though they are prepared to treat our situation as a standard installation, so have shown some flexibility, direct from the meter box but with a couple of provisos. 1. 100amp 2 pole isolator to be fitted in the meter box which they believe Octopus will install FOC (apparently Octopus are usually one of the more lenient suppliers) 2. They will pull the cable underground over the 1 metre stretch between the house & the garage but I have to provide & install conduit for it to be pulled through but at a depth of 450mm, evidenced by photos. I know that the specs for underground cable show 450mm but I was hoping that common sense would prevail over the depth of the trench since it is obvious that there is a cable there since the cable will be clipped to the house wall where it goes in to the trench and clipped to the garage wall where it comes out before going through the garage wall. Now awaiting the engineer to do his load calculations to see if he needs permission to install a charger from UK Power Networks
  10. @GureamuThe tyres for my RX were cheaper at my dealer than any of the local tyre centres
  11. Nope, not on mine at least, yet it does if I play music via the USB
  12. @Joey020 I asked the dealer why they fitted that type of parcel shelf. He said it was because people were moaning about the roller type cover as fitted to my current RX because they had to roll back the fabric cover to put things in the boot rather than the boot being fully accessible when the tailgate is lifted. My view, I prefer the roller cover, it is much less fiddly to take off and store but hey ho, we are all different in our thoughts and opinions
  13. Another mild irritation on my 2018 model is the inability to receive traffic announcements when the radio I’d in DAB mode, even though there is a setting for it. My previous Land Rovers did but, after much discussion with Lexus they confirmed that it was not possible on my model. Hopefully they have fixed this on later cars
  14. Another point worth making is that my RX F Sport can jostle you around a bit on our local B roads in normal mode, but put the AVS into different setting and it rides perfectly as well as taking out much of the roll on bends
  15. Don’t be fooled by the hype regarding the ML system. I have it on my current RX and I can tell you that it is nothing special, and certainly not something that I would pay extra for or something that would influence any of my decisions
  16. Exactly this ^^^^^^ First & foremost is lazy journalism, they just repeat what others are saying because they think it makes them sound as though they know what they are talking about when, in reality, the majority are just story writers who crib from each other. I know a guy who used to review cars for Autoexpress & then Parkers. He admits what I have just posted is largely correct. Answer is get yourself an extended test drive and form your own opinions
  17. as @ColinBarberpoints out, although my experience is with the RH450h, just back off a little & the noise reduces considerably & has very little affect on the progress made. You have to learn to feather the throttle, once you get use to this the cvt box is a pleasure. I was hesitant at first but now really appreciate the smoothness
  18. See post mid way through this thread, although can’t comment on the “jiggly ride” you mention it may be of help
  19. Well the fabulous British Gas show how inefficient they are again! Today we were supposed to have had our virtual survey and when the time passed that it was booked for (booked & confirmed on 16th Feb) I gave them a call. The excuses the lady on the telephone came up with, on realising that they had messed up, were honestly unbelievable and the biggest insult to a human beings intelligence possible. I won’t bore you with what was said but she definitely needs some training on how to spin a yarn. I then get told that she could reschedule for me during w/c 18th April since all appointments before that date are full. After I went totally ballistic she then decides that perhaps she had better consult someone else. 1 hour later an email arrives with a new date of Monday next week. As you can tell from my opening statement, my experience with BG has not been good. For example, back in Nov’21, after we booked a boiler service for a date in Nov 8 weeks prior, we received an email the afternoon before the service was due to take place informing us that our appointment had been rescheduled for a date in Feb’22. After calling them and again listening to all of their lame excuses I asked to speak to a manager who decided that they could do the boiler service on the planned date after all. Apologies, rant over, but the above along with other events experienced with them are why BG will never be my choice of supplier for anything in the future
  20. The best explanation of how the Lexus AVS works is probably in this article. I know it is for the RX but the NX is the same https://mag.lexus.co.uk/2020-lexus-rx-suspension/ My experience is with the RX F Sport and for me I wouldn’t be without it. I have also had AVS on Land Rovers prior to the Lexus. Does it result in a harsher ride, TBH I don’t know, I haven’t driven an RX without it and my other car is a Lotus so a harsher ride doesn’t bother me a great deal, although the Lexus IS no where near as hard as the Lotus. What I do know is that on bumpy twisty B roads it not only stabilises the car on bends it also allows the car to settle on the road better with less floating and jolting on uneven surfaces. I also tend to use it in areas where there is a constant flow of roundabouts over a few miles to take away the majority of body roll. The RX, in addition to Sport and Sport+ modes, which also not only changes the suspension but also other driving dynamics like throttle and steering response, also has a customisable mode where you can choose which elements of driving dynamics you prefer to pre-set. I believe the NX has the same custom mode but not 100% on this. It is custom mode that I use more often since it is quicker to switch on & off & I have it set to my preference. I ordered the F Sport with sunroof but not the Takumi pack since, other than the front crossing alert, there was nothing else in the pack which was anything like essential for me hence I didn’t consider it value for money. It was a £3k option at the time and although now a £2k option I would still pass but hey, we are all different in our requirements so do whatever suits you own requirements. Re your Lexus Link query, someone else can probably answer better than me but I believe that your dealer will need to put your order number in to the system for an ordered car to show. Don’t panic at the moment though because the system will just show “car ordered” and nothing else until it enters build stage in a few months time Apologies for the long reply but hopefully you will find it useful
  21. Loyalty allowance, which is only available on the 450h, applies to previous Lexus customers. They gave me a price on a 2017 RX450 F Sport which is guaranteed no matter how long delivery takes after the current estimate of June. Price of new car is also fixed, F Sport Sonic Titanium & red trim. GAP insurance covers the difference between invoice price of car and insurance payout for 3 years. You can also pay extra for it to cover the list price of a replacement vehicle to the same spec rather than novice price of current car Didn’t negotiate hard at all, it was late afternoon on 31st Jan (month end figures time) and after I rejected their 1st offer they asked my what I wanted to sign before 6.00pm that day. I told them and mentioned that items like free servicing would be something that had a value to me but didn’t cost them much. They came back with a slight modification on what I asked but it was enough for me to accept.
  22. Congratulations on your purchase👍 Re discounts, I managed a £1500 “discount” via an improved offer on my RX, the value of which was already very generous, together with a £750 loyalty allowance, 3 years free servicing and free GAP insurance but that was on a 450h+ Re Ceramic Coating, is it really ceramic coating they are offering, most Lexus dealers push “Superguard” which is not a ceramic coating plus I wouldn’t trust a car dealer to apply it properly(but that may be just me), I always use a detailer to do such work I’ve gone for the F Sport model since the variable adaptive suspension was more important to me than some of the kit on the Takumi, but hey - we all have different views and needs, that’s why the choices are out there.
  23. There are 2 elements of your review that also struck me when we first test drove the new NX. 1. The dark interior was very dark inside, even with the sunroof, and was probably a contributor to my feeling that it was small inside, although I was comparing to my current RX. I would love a light headlining in the one I’ve ordered but it is not an option 2. The rear seat knee room, again comparing to the RX However we went ahead since we don’t really need the room of the RX inside anymore and the wife never liked the size of the RX when driving in town and on the very narrow country lanes where we live
  24. I understand that Ford have either a patent or exclusivity on heated windscreens in the U.K. which has been extended to JLR due to the patent/exclusivity being in place when JLR was under Ford ownership
