Issues with LexusLink App on NX450H
RXtoNX replied to GeoffNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
As a contrast mine works fine with journeys always updated within 2 hours of completing them. However, as mentioned no “send to car” facility -
Nx450h HV range display
RXtoNX replied to guildford's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I had the same situation today. Left Birmingham with a range of 285 miles showing and no EV range. After arriving at our local petrol station and covering 165 miles all obviously in HV mode, rather than showing the expected range left of circa 120 miles it was showing 56 miles. Just to add to the confusion it only took 36 litres to fill up and the range then showed 522 miles🤔. I can only conclude that the range calculation is based upon historical mpg including EV miles, and therefore makes an assumption that the % EV driving will be the same as historical, but as the tank gets lower it uses the current mpg to adjust the calculation. Doesn’t explain why I could only get 36 litres in the tank though unless it omits a reserve range as the tank gets lower. Very confusing and can’t be relied upon as an indication as to whether you can make it home or not before filling up. My RX was the opposite, the fuel tank always showed more fuel in the tank than the remaining range suggested🙄 -
Parking sensors
RXtoNX replied to John Mochan's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I used to get this on the RX, mainly in the winter months. It’s cause was rain drops on the sensors or dirt. Im not sure that Vaseline is a long term benefit since dirt could stick to it. I just used a decent polish which allowed the rain to run off and helped stop the road dirt from staying on there. You can tell if this is the problem just by wiping the sensors when it happens. If they work ok after wiping then rain/first is the issue -
No AA Card in New NX
RXtoNX replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Yes the car is covered but the jury is still out on whether the person is covered for breakdown assistance when a passenger in other cars. This has always been the case in the past & still is according to Lexus T&Cs, which haven’t been updated since early 2019, but both the AA & Lexus seem to be unable to confirm that this is still the case. -
No AA Card in New NX
RXtoNX replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
It is 8 weeks since we took delivery of the car and according to the AA and Lexus Assist there is no paperwork to come through, hence my queries -

Ken, that’s exactly what they told me but the reason I am continuing to pursue this with them is due to their definition of “nominated partner” in their T&Cs, which states Your spouse or other nominated person who resides at Your Home and is registered as Your Partner by Lexus Roadside Assistance (Note Lexus Roadside Assistance will only register one Partner at any one time during any Assistance Period) This clearly states: 1. that a nominated partner has to be registered - on the phone I was told there is no room on their on-line form to enter a second name 2 a nominated partner does not have to be a spouse etc but could also be a son/daughter living at the same address, hence the words “other nominated person” If the person calling is not registered as the vehicle owner how do they know that the person is nominated? Yes I might appear to be pedantic about this but the fact that when questioned the AA person I was speaking with knew nothing about it and could only say we no longer issue cards but you are covered until 31st July 2025 leaves me feeling uneasy should the need arise. -
No AA Card in New NX

It was the dealer who told me that Lexus had recently changed provider for their breakdown cover. Maybe it’s the other way around🤔 TBH I don’t know who provided ours on the RX over the past 5 years since we never needed them but what I do know was that adding a nominated partner to the policy was never a problem. -
NX 2022 delivery date
RXtoNX replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Just a thought regarding 350h deliveries, is it the ones ordered after certain price increases that are being delivered in the next few weeks and the ones ordered at the original launch price who are still having to wait? -

They confirmed the same to me after I queried it but what they still haven’t confirmed, and don’t appear to know what to do, is how to include a nominated partner on to the policy. They just said to me that all anyone driving the car has to do is call the numbers on the windscreen and quote the reg number. My response, according to the Lexus T&Cs it is not the car that is covered, it is the person in any car hence why a nominated partner needs to be on the policy in the same way that this has operated for the past 5 years in my RX. I was then told there is not room on their forms to put another name on there. My query is now with Lexus Customer Services. We wait & see what the outcome is. I am told that Lexus breakdown cover has recently changed to the AA from RAC. Interesting that the latest breakdown cover T&Cs on the Lexus website are dated prior to any change to the AA taking place -

NX 2022 delivery date
RXtoNX replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Work on 8 weeks +/- a week from leaving factory to taking delivery & you won’t be far out. -
@Sybaris, more wear on the outer edges yes, higher pressure = more wear in the centre, but 2psi will be negligible in either case. For a road car I wouldn’t change the recommended settings by more than 3-4psi, it is more important to consider the effect of ambient temperature changes on tyre pressures, particularly between Winter and Summer If you want the full analysis you need to consider the effect on tyre temperature and, from my track days, how reducing the front only will help under steer etc. and then we can bring spring rates and geo changes in to it 🙄 Its an RX, a road car, stick to the basics then you’re not giving your insurance company an excuse to refuse e a payout if the worst happens.

RX 450 h L stolen
RXtoNX replied to LexusLadLondon's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Some insurers now put a clause in their NCD regarding protected NCD, something like “the taking out of protected NCD does not necessarily mean that your premium will not rise in the event of a claim” -
Mine has dropped in to parking mode on 2 occasions when sat in stationery traffic, but came “back to life” as soon as I started moving again so yes, works fine with the OBD connector👍
-
Ah, thanks Ken. The car is in the wife’s name so I’ll have to get her to call the members line so they can add me to the “policy” which will mean that both cars are covered. According to their web site they still allow the adding of a spouse and all cover is personal, so you don’t have to be in the Lexus to call them out, it covers which ever car you are travelling in
-
Possibly, we were also told to allow 28 days hence the question 🤔

NX450h+ Wallbox installation
RXtoNX replied to RXtoNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Assuming that you are eligible for the free offer, (there was a cut off date of 31/3/22 for car to be ordered by, unless it was extended) then standard supply & installation was FOC. Look at the t&c’s and compare the quote to establish if yours is a standard installation. -
Is anyone who has delivery of a new NX in the last 8-10 weeks still waiting for their Lexus Assist card & documentation? The Lexus Assist programme used to cover the car owner in any car they are travelling in and could be extended to include another person in the same household, hence effectively covering both of our cars, but the addition of another member of the household had to be done once the Lexus Assist pack was received. We are still waiting for ours after 6 weeks. I’ve chased the dealership this morning but the guy who normally deals with us is on vacation this week so asking here rather than going through the details with anyone else at the dealership

Don’t rule out PCP, it may well work out that you can get a good discount and a PCP contribution. I managed this when I bought my RX 5 years ago. I then settled the PCP contract a week after making the first monthly payment. Finance companies are no longer allowed to charge any early settlement penalties, they can only charge the interest that applies to the length of term any loan has been live. The last 4 new cars that have been bought in our household have been purchased this way

Below is a copy & paste of my post in the NX section of the forum. Note that this relates to the NX where discounts and deposit contributions are hard to come by. Will the £2000 deposit contribution on a UX also apply to the 2023 model? Some dealers are reluctant to discount the NX but if you have a p/x you should focus on the cost to change amount & not the purchase price of the new car. When I was negotiating my deal early in the year, after being offered a pretty decent price for my p/x, I was asked what was needed to clinch the sale. I said, a little tongue in cheek at the time, £1500 more on the p/x and 2 years free servicing since free servicing has a value to me for very little cost to the dealership. After a 5 minute discussion between the salesperson and his manager, the manager came to me and said “I can’t stretch to a further £1500 on your p/x but if I gave you an extra £1000 and 3 years free servicing would that be acceptable?” Value to me was almost the same so I agreed They also fixed the price of the new vehicle and value of the p/x, although I understand that recently Lexus have stated the they will no longer support dealers on new car prices and the price will be that which prevails at the time of delivery. You can only ask & negotiate from there.

Decide what features you need and what are nice to have. Thinkware dashcams can incorporate speed camera warnings, fixed, average, traffic light and mobile ones with the database updated every 2-3 months. A very nice to have IMO especially when it is a voice warning telling you how far away from these pesky cameras you are when approaching

NX 2022 delivery date
RXtoNX replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
The one thing I keep doing is glancing at the middle of the dash to see the time. The time that is on a proper clock such as I had in the RX. Why oh why didn’t Lexus fit one to the NX, much easier to read than these digital efforts
