Lane Departure Assist
RXtoNX replied to RXtoNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Well, after 2 hours of trying (and in the process managing to flatten the 12v battery😠) I’m no further forward. Key profile set up with the LDA turned off but it does not memorise this and after ignition turned off & back on the LDA is on again. I’ll take a trip to the dealers this week to see if I’m doing anything wrong but I suspect that it cannot be permanently turned off. When going through the personal settings there is no option in the Drivers Assist setting to disable. -
Lane Departure Assist
RXtoNX replied to RXtoNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I agree with much of that Peter but one example of a self imposed “safety” feature which always annoyed me on the RX & still remains on the NX & cannot be disabled is the fact that once the car is out of Park mode the memory buttons on the drivers door are disabled. My dealer suggested that this a safety feature in case you accidentally press one whilst driving (how this is possible still remains a mystery to me). It annoys me because for the past 15 years of driving I like to have 2 settings, one for town driving where I sit higher and more upright for better visibility in traffic and one for cruising where I sit in a more relaxed position. A simple press on position 2 or 1 is all that it used to take but with a Lexus, because of this “self imposed safety feature” I have to fiddle with the seat whilst driving. I know which is the safer option🙄 -
Lane Departure Assist

Mandatory it maybe but, as I mentioned previously, it is also dangerous when it considers that you are too close to the edge of a narrow country lane and tries to pull you away and into the path of the oncoming car which is the reason as to why you moved closer to the edge in the first place. There are many so-called safety features on a Lexus that I can easily debunk but I continue to own & drive one because they are such nice cars other than the over zealous built in & unnecessary safety features. I need to complete the long Lexus questionnaire which they sent to me so will be detailing quite a few of these frustrating and unnecessary feature on there -
Lane Departure Assist
RXtoNX replied to RXtoNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Thanks Peter, I must admit I’ve not tried to programme desired settings to the fob & set a profile after reading the difficulties that others have had. Gives me something to play around with tomorrow 👍 -
Lane Departure Assist
RXtoNX replied to RXtoNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
That worked fine on my previous RX but doesn’t turn it off permanently on the NX450, which is what I’m trying to do (unless I’m missing something). The only setting I can see is “Alerts” which can be changed from vibrate to beep. I’ll have another look -
Has anyone found a way of turning this off completely? Looking through the manual it seems as though it can be done but only by a dealer, although it is not exactly clear. I know it can be turned off after starting the engine but I usually forget until I get that steering wheel tug when changing lanes on dual carriageways etc but, more alarmingly, it also tries to pull me away from the edge of the road on narrow country lanes into the path of oncoming vehicles that I’ve moved closer to the edge for so that we can both get by without the need for one of us to stop. Would be far more useful if that Lane Trace button on the steering wheel was a button to turn the Lane Departure Assist off & on without the need to take your eyes off the road whilst looking at and using the touch screen. Why do we need Lane Trace Assist anyway, does it really have a purpose?

NX350h/450h Mats and Boot Liner
RXtoNX replied to GALex's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Rubber mats are part of the pack & always have been. After saying that, they are the same poor quality as the boot mat so will probably only last 1 winter. The ones in the RX had seen 4 winters and were still like new. I am seriously considering getting a set of aftermarket heavy duty ones -

RXtoNX replied to GALex's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I was also disappointed with the quality of the rubber mats supplied s a part of the protection pack, no where near as good and heavy duty as the ones in my departed RX. Had I known this beforehand I would have deleted that option and purchased aftermarket ones. -
NX 2022 Takumi with credit card key
RXtoNX replied to Al D-Much's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Be aware that the CC Fob is slightly larger than a CC, particularly the depth, so it may be bulky in a wallet. My previous RX was supplied with one which we put in a safe. The only time that it came out of the safe in almost 5 years was the day the dealer delivered our new NX and took the RX away -
NX 450h+ electric and petrol range
RXtoNX replied to dts439's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Wasn’t the comment more about the cost of charging whilst on the road being as much as the cost of petrol or greater? I don’t think commercial charging points have a rate which differentiates between night & day so, unless you’re staying somewhere overnight or are prepared to wait around for 2.5 hours, it’s a mute point anyway. -

Use that link to download the T&Cs and Lexus Assist brochure and they clearly state that the nominated partner has to be registered by Lexus, which was the main reason that I raised this in the first place after being told by Lexus Assist that they can’t register anyone but the owner. When I finally pushed Lexus they admitted that they no longer register a nominated partner, just quoting reg number, owners name and address is sufficient. -

Nope, nothing until I’d escalated the entire subject matter 8 weeks after delivery, then Lexus finally responded and confirmed everything. Having owned a Lexus for 5 years previously I knew the ropes but was insistent that I had some documentation outlining the exact position and how to proceed. BTW, the email I received also confirmed that they no longer log the name of a nominated partner. It would appear that LRA just take your word that you are a nominated partner if you can quote the reg number and registered address of the Lexus owner🙄 -

It’s not just the card you don’t get anymore, as mentioned many times in posts above you also don’t get any documentation so anyone new to Lexus won’t know this -
When is my NX 350 being delivered?
RXtoNX replied to Keith Truman's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Discounts on a car in demand are unlikely to be great. Once you believe that you have negotiated the best “cost to change” deal you can (sometimes discounts are hidden in a p/x value if you have one) then ask the question “what can you do that has a value to me for very little cost to yourselves?” I managed to get 3 years free servicing using this approach. Also, even if you intend paying cash, take the finance deal being pushed. You can settle the finance in month 1 without incurring any penalties (consumer law prevents finance companies from charging penalties for early settlement). Just make sure that any “discount” you obtain that is linked to the finance arrangement is more than 1 months interest . -
No AA Card in New NX
RXtoNX replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
You have mis-read the thread and therefore misunderstood the point. Lexus no longer provide a LRA card nor do they provide any documentation. This all ceased a few months ago hence the queries since I was also used to everything you state being the case -
I also disagree. When we looked at swapping the RX for a smaller car 18 months ago 2 reasons stopped us considering the NX300, one was the quality of the interior (it was way off the RX quality) and the second was the gruffness of the engine. Whilst I still don’t think the NX450h interior quality is as nice as the RX it is definitely IMO a step up from the NX300 and the engine is so much sweeter, almost 6 cylinder standard

Have they stopped being able to tether WiFi from your phone then. I could do it in my 2018 model RX, which had no integrated WiFi facility, but to be fair it was as useful as a chocolate teapot. -

RXtoNX replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
No they haven’t changed, it was just my dealership confusing themselves with dates etc. What is concerning though is that neither LRA or the AA can confirm what the current deal is and if it’s the same as we had on the RX for the past 5 years. All they say is that they no longer issue cards and there is no where on their system for them to enter a nominated partner. When asked how do they know that someone who calls if different to the car owner is nominated they just scratch their heads. Also they can’t confirm if the roadside assistance covers the person when travelling in other cars as it has always done and still indicates that in the latest T&Cs on the website dated 2019. Doesn’t fill me with confidence if we needed them in any of the circumstances outlned. LRA have failed to respond to emails asking these questions and I have just escalated my query to Customer Services. We wait & see if a response comes from there🤔 -
Charging speed...
RXtoNX replied to Bish1402's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
That’s a fair point Colin re the 12.67KW being 70% of the 18.1KW battery capacity. However a full charge on mine always takes 14.6KW as confirmed by both the hive apps and the Easee charger app, since my charger is not the normal BG one but was supplied by BG for reasons previously reported, always takes 2.5 hours overnight. The Easee charger is capable of charging at a speed of up to 20KW/hr but of course the actual charging speed is governed by the car. -
Charging speed...
RXtoNX replied to Bish1402's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
If a charge is taking 3hrs 10min then it is not charging at 7KWh since a full charge is around 14.6KW due to the battery never reducing lower than 30%. A 14.6KW charge on mine takes 2hrs 34mins -
