  1. Only time my 12v battery discharged was my own fault for leaving the doors open, ignition off whilst fitting a dashcam. It should have been in “ready” mode. Ours has been left at an airport for 19 days without any issues & tbh, if the 12v battery going flat is a concern to you then forget any type/model of hybrid. My daughter has a Tucson and her 12v battery went flat whilst unloading the car on a camping trip. Same problem with all hybrids, leave the doors open with ignition off for more than 15mins anfpd you’re inviting trouble.
  2. It took 5 weeks for the app to update after our last service & that was only after I used the messaging service in the app to give them a nudge😉
  3. Yep, you are 100% correct, this is what I tried pointing out many posts ago
  4. Ours is booked in to dealers next week for them to update the maps with the latest update, just as they did last year & at their suggestion when we booked it in for the latest recall.
  5. Same here, NX450h built May 2022 and dealer says “after checking the Lexus system it is eligible for a free Tracker” It is scheduled to be fitted next week whilst they are doing other updates so I guess we wait & see 🤔
  6. Just called in at my local dealer to book the NX450h in for this latest recall. Whilst going through the details on the computer the receptionist asks “would you like us to do a map update for the satnav whilst we have the car? Also the car is eligible for a free tracker to be fitted, would you like us to do this?” I have to say that, unlike some dealership stories I read on here, Lexus Ipswich have been nothing but brilliant throughout the 7 years I have been dealing with them.
  7. Not really, my app works fine with all of those, although I haven’t tried to use it to set the charge time, this is set in the car. No problem here with setting climate, locking, unlocking or viewing trips (which incidentally include distance travelled for each trip) It’s not brilliant but it is usable. But then I bought a car not a gimmick!
  8. So enlighten us, what would you want the app to do?🤔🤔
  9. It’s just lazy journalism. The reviewer latches on to comments made by some journalist many moons ago and feels that “to be in the know” he has to echo those same comments. He doesn’t understand why but he’s too scared to be the one to break the mould. Journalists are lazy, most reports tend to be a plagiarism on someone’s else’s lazy report. It’s a never ending spiral!
  10. Ron, DL didn’t make the claim process easy, initially at least. Their claims appear to be outsourced to a Far East call centre so the first contact is with a female who doesn’t have the best grasp of the English language. She will then start asking questions from a script, many of which are irrelevant given the nature of the claim and some downside illogical. Firstly she will inform you that you aren’t insured because you didn’t report the ‘accident’ to them first & had it repaired out of their control. (She doesn’t grasp that driving without a door mirror is illegal & it is unlikely that a pattern part would be available) Then, after many illogical & irrelevant questions she said to me, when I had just offered dash cam evidence of the ‘accident’, “were you driving on the wrong side of the road” At this point I went ballistic and demanded to speak to someone in higher authority who took a few details & told me that the claim was now in progress. Shortly afterwards I received an email asking me to complete a survey about my claims experience. I didn’t hold back! The following day I received a call from a senior member of the DL customer service dept who apologised to me about the experience. He told me that he had listened to the entire recording of the conversation and could fully understand my frustrations. In his words “it was a 40minute call which should have been over within 10 minutes, It was a simple own damage claim & the female concerned would be undergoing further extensive training.”
  11. Octopus Go (East of England rates) 00.30 - 05.30. 8.5p/kwh 0530 - 00.30. 24.39p/kwh Standing charge 47.85/day
  12. Just to close off this little event, I did claim from my insurers who didn’t make it easy but we got there in the end and I received the payout last week. Roll on to this week and my insurer for the past 7 years, Direct Line, decided to try to start claiming back what they had paid out by inflating my renewal premium from £460 last year to £1027 for the next 12 months. (Note that I had NCD protection). Today I renewed with Admiral who quoted me £605 on the Lexus (recent claim declared) and £220 for the wife’s MX5 if I was to insure that with them as well. So both cars on the Admiral Gold policy for £825 against the £1027 Direct Line quote for the Lexus. This afternoon I decided to have a bit of fun and called Direct Line to ask if they wanted to reconsider their quote since I had found a cheaper insurer. TBF they could reduce it, they came back and offered me £970 😂 so I just said “good bye”
  13. Dealer is pulling the wool ver your eyes - OTA map updates don’t yet exist, they never did, only in the Lexus marketing spiel
  14. Dealer responsibility, according to mine, because the Lexus promised OTA map updates haven’t yet materialised
  15. Why pay for them? Map updates are FOC for the first 3 years and should be done by the dealer. I don’t understand your point “dealer unable to assist” it is their responsibility to do the map updates when requested to do so for the first 3 years. Dealer also provided FOC courtesy car for the day when they did mine. Maybe you need a showdown with your dealer?
  16. I would imagine so. I have a 3 year free servicing plan (negotiated at time of purchase) and have received the appropriate invoices marked “paid” on collecting the car after a service.
  17. There are no OTA map updates, despite what Lexus have said in the past or what some dealers may say now. Map updates can be done by the dealer FOC if you require one. All of the above from my (very good) dealership
  18. I swapped out the puddle lights fitted as oem equipment for the ‘addcarlights’ ones. The transformation is simply amazing with very bright & clear logo’s
  19. If your dash cams have parking mode and are not of the type that also monitor battery level with an auto cut off then that is likely to be the culprit.
  20. Re the 12v battery, it did cause me a couple of issues but entirely my own fault for not reading the manual correctly. One you know its limitations and work arounds it’s fine, you just need to understand how the hybrid system works and not expect a 12v battery the size as in a Range Rover. Ive never had a problem with the run flats, I always carry a tyre plugger in the boot for those “just in case” moments. Had my 450h now for 2 years after switching from a RX450h which I had for 5 years
  21. I was told by the dealership that the glass alone was over £500 due to some fancy liquid coating or backing which makes all the gizmos work in the glass, blind spot monitoring, auto dimming, heating & so on. Spock, beam me back to 1970 when motoring was free from added gizmos and free from EU intervention and when you actually had to drive the cars 🙏
  22. TBH Malc I’m not sure how easy it would be to transfer all of the mirror internals in to a 3D printed housing. I didn’t get time to examine it since the car was booked in for servicing the morning after & the dealer could get one delivered that morning.
  23. Ken, that is what we are doing 👍 Sods law that we only increased the voluntary excess last year but, as you say, one would hope that future premiums wouldn’t be greatly affected by it. Shouldn’t affect NCB since that is protected. We will see, since insurance renewal is late Sept.
  24. Nothing that looks conclusive apart from the car following clearly swerving to the edge of the road. Unfortunately I hadn’t re-adjusted the front camera angle after removing & replacing it a few weeks ago 😠
  25. It’s all personal preference but I never thought that the ML system I had on my RX450 f sport was any better than the standard system in my current NX450 f sport. Of course it’s your choice but I wouldn’t pay extra for the ML system, i think it is a Lexus marketing gimmick. How many here had ever heard of ML before Lexus started pushing its name.
