Just had a mail from the leasing company I am going through to say that my car will be at the dealership (Birmingham) on January 18th. If that happens it'll be six days short of a year after ordering.

My sympathy goes out to you as well. I cracked and broke a few ribs about 18 months ago (got electrocuted, which threw me off the chair I was standing on and onto the arm of another chair, right on the right hand side of my chest). It really is no fun whatsoever and there's very little you can do other than wait for things to heal.

August to May? That's only 9 months - not bad at all by a lot of people's experience here.

Ordered through a lease company so can't track it unfortunately, but I was told my car was being built on the 10th November, although it could have started being built a bit earlier, so fingers crossed for an early/mid January delivery. 😃

And Japan and Australia etc I would guess. But you're right, an extra factory ought to help everybody.

I think all UK cars are built in Japan.

Better host it somewhere you can get to by public transport 🤪

Well, I ordered end of January 2022 and I've been told January 2023 - in fact the car has just been built so that date is fairly firm now I believe. That's 12 months, yours would be 14 months, so not out of the ballpark - especially if it's true that Takumis are taking longer because of the extra bells and whistles. I ordered through a lease company who told me that they would no longer give estimated delivery dates until a build date was confirmed because the dates changed so much without a confirmed build date. Whilst waiting, I have had estimated dates of August '22, September '22, January '23, April '23, October '23 (!), February '23 and now a seemingly firm January '23, so take any dates with a pinch of salt!

I don't have my NX yet (maybe never will do, different story!). Obviously, your experience is more compelling than my supposition!

Fair enough, but if I had a "feature" on my car that I felt was "outright dangerous" I hope I'd remember to take the few seconds to turn it off if necessary (whether or not it should be necessary to do so is a different issue).

What's stopping you from disabling it before you start moving?

It really isn't good enough from Lexus. I hope that this gets resolved to your satisfaction.

A bit worrying. I wonder if those of us that ordered via lease companies will be getting calls from the lease company asking for more money? The company I ordered through is now advertising the same car at 60% more than I've contracted to pay monthly.

I got the same info about my 350h a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they'll be on the same boat.

I see. Sorry that didn't help. Your timescale does seem to be a bit of an outlier so I hope it comes in a bit.

Not sure what you mean by "my broker", but my car was ordered via a lease company and I found that speaking to the Lexus dealership that it would be coming in via was more useful than trying to get updates from the lease company. May not be applicable in your case, but I mention it just in case it helps.

So, did you pick it up? Any thoughts / pictures?

Spoke to the dealership that my car will be coming into (Lexus Birmingham) and they tell me that my car is in build (hurrah) and that it will then go from the build factory to another factory "to have some other bits fitted" - whatever that means. Main thing is that it is being built and they have given me a delivery date of end of January. Oddly, the leasing company I have ordered through hasn't let me know that yet, despite them saying that they would update me once a build date was known (which it clearly is).

Same time I ordered mine. What spec did you order?
