This is not the case in the UK. The upgrade to provide CarPlay/AA functionality is a paid for software upgrade on 2019 models.
Well, this is not so fair. Since elsewhere is a free upgrade.

Thought I would treat myself to the Android Auto upgrade, but Lexus dealership today told me that I would need both the Satnav upgrade at £200, plus the Android Auto upgrade at £85!
Very dissappointing, as I find the native satnav text too small to read.
Is there any way to get these upgrades from elsewhere at a more reasonable price? On 2019 UXs not equipped with either apple Car Play and Android Auto, the upgrade should be at no cost as it has always been. It consist only of a software upgrade. The UXs not equipped are those built between january and september 2019.
This is the way it is with dealers in Italy, but it should be the same everywhere.

Does the OBD device has to be Carista?
Looking at other OBD bluetooth devices for bit less money.
I bought this: vgate iCar PRO OBD2 Bluetooth 4.0 at about 39,00 €
Carista is the app needed to connect to the obd device and make changes
Here a link to Amazon:

Here is the link to Lexus-Tech site, register here with your details and then you will be able to download the file with all the specs of your UX:
Once you log in, go to home menu, then repair and select vehicle specifications.
The file you download will surely help with the insurance company.

I believe you can log in to my Lexus-Tech from a pc/mac, there should be a section where you can download, using the VIN, a file with all the specs of your car that describes the full list of optionals/accessories and the description of the model.

I have just had my 2019 (19 plate) UX250h stolen (I believe via a CanBus attack). We bought it from a general used-car dealership in 2022 and it was a Premium Plus spec as far as I can tell (heated seats, heated wheel, tan leather seats for example).
However, the paperwork we have describes it as a UX 250H + 4x2 CVT. Does that + in the description 'prove' it is a Premium Plus model? i.e. when the insurer offers us a settlement fee will that extra detail (+ 4x2 CVT) tell them it was a Premium Plus model and mean they offer us the right settlement fee? Or could it be that we have a different model and the car had these features added as optional items? Just trying to understand whether the + just means 'and' whether it definitely signifies Premim Plus. Any help on this much appreciated...I believe you can log in to my lexus from a pc/mac, there should be a section where you can download, using the VIN, a file with all the specs of your car that describes the full list of optionals/accessories and the description of the model.

Correct.....I moved the light switch from the Auto position to the parking light position and then toggled between the parking light and the head light position a total of 3 times and it worked.
Colin..... I don't think Imzy's problem is a failed repair he just wants to re-calibrate the guide lines.
Thank You

Process…Start the engine and whilst HOLDING down the MENU button next to tracker turn ON/OFF parking/headlights toggle 3 times (video says 4 times but 3 times aslo worked)
Use service menu at your own risk.
Hello,
have a question, the UX does not have an on/off position for the headlights, it has an auto, a parking light, and an always on position for the headlights.
How did you go about?

I'll attach some pics to show how bad it really is
There are also a couple small chips right on the screen! i can't imagine what would possess someone to damage the screen that way considering it's not even touch screen. Fortunately this damage isn't really visibile unless it's in direct sunlight, and for the moment 80% of my drives are after sunset.
I tried polishing the gear selector indicator as it was lightly scuffed but that didn't work and may've made the situation worse, unwilling to back down i also tried polishing the screen behind the drive mode selector in case it came out rubbish and lo and behold... it was. Seems polishing will likely ruin the antiglare and keep the scratches anyway. If i ever end up going to a professional i'll ask for a hail mary but in the mean time it's whatever.
Mamma mia che disastro!

Not true. Mine is an AWD and I’ve got a styrene insert under the lower deck.
@duckzee, lift that insert out and show us underneath.
You have a stirene insert but almost no storage space in the uderfloor of the trunk.
As i have written in my post.
-
Hello,
if your UX is an AWD (4 wheel drive) you lose the underfloor storage space in the trunk, the third electric engine for the rear axel taxes away that space.
The repair tools for a flat tyre take away most of the space that remains.
The first and second pictures are of a two wheel drive UX.

On the UX250h F-sport 18" tyres, its recommended to run on 2.3bar/33psi. However I found it a bit too soft sometimes and I want to bring it up to 2.5bar/36psi.
Does anyone do this and how do you feel? thanks
I keep the tyres inflated at 2.5 bar, recommended is 2.3 bar. This way the car handles better and it should improve a bit mileage. I own a 250h non F-sport with 17" tyres.

Hi,
In our 2021 Lexus UX 250h with the smaller infotainment screen, we want to keep the radio favourites screen on when driving, however after about 10 seconds it automatically moves back to the Home Screen with the map.
Does anyone know how you can keep the radio screen?
thanks
Hello,
have a 2019 250h UX. To keep the radio screen full all time i just point the cursor and click on the radio on the home screen, and then it remains on full screen.
To go back to the home screen with the map i have to press the home button.

Hi all,
I'm just wondering if anyone has tried fitting a full size 18" wheel in the spare wheel space? Does it fit or does it only accommodate a space saver? I'm struggling to get hold of a space saver anywhere in the UK so my next bet was a full size.
Thanks
Only a space saver fill fit.

Security question..As We Are All Chasing Our Tails on Car Security What do members Think about The Apple Air Tag I.e Secluding one inside the Vehicle that would enable Us to Track in the event of the car being stolen..What are the Pros and Cons of Having one of these In The vehicle...I take it some Members of the Group have them.. Would be interested in there Comments And if they are Worth having installed....I Was Thinking of getting one..!!!!! Another Gadget i Hear you say..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The thieves must own an Iphone, with Bluetooth and localization turned on. I bet they would know better to keep those services turned off. If they are able to steal a Lexus, they would know how not to be tracked.

Explain how this happens.
It's a mechanical way to realign the brake pads and clean them. It works on any car. On hybrid cars you need the gear in neutral so when braking you are only using the hydraulic system, bypassing the regenerative braking.

Thanks for answering Colin. Only had the car for a short while and I am an extremely light braker but I'll give the vigorous braking a go. I haven't had any brake shoes/pads replaced in the last 20 odd years (5 or 6 vehicles) so I suppose that indicates how gentle my braking is. My last Lexus still had over 50% pads at 43000 miles!
I suggest you drive the car going downhill backwards (on a no traffic road) with the gear in neutral and braking, this way the brake pads will realign and get rid of any glaze.

It's cheaper. Toyota/Lexus will claim one is better than the other everytime they flip flop from NiMH to Lithium Ion and back again to NiMH. The newer bi-polar battery means it is more powerful than the old NiMH ones, so it doesn't have to be so large - this was the main reason they fitted more expensive Lithium Ion batteries in the past where they needed the boot space in a vehicle.
Potentially the new Yaris Cross will move to this battery too, or maybe just the higher powered version that is equivalent to the LBX - there's a lack of info on this until nearer the launch.
Thank You

I came across the below posting from ColinB...but just been on the shops website (https://www.bootsliners.co.uk/LEXUS-UX-BOOT-LINER.html) but they are offering a "200" and "250" option. Confused as the UK only ever had the 250h. I thought perhaps they could be referring to models with/without the subwoofer?? My new car is from March 2020 without the Mark Levinson...
Anyway, can anyone please shed any light if it's just the 250h version I need to oder from them? Or perhaps recommend any others?
Cheers.
Hello,
i bought a liner for my 2019 250h from this site. They are made in Poland and are excellent quality and fit perfectly. They have models for 250h and 300e up to MY2024.
I attach the link and a picture, the site is not in English but it's easy to navigate. https://www.tappetinionline.it/vasca-baule/lexus/ux/
You have to choose the 250h model.
I bought the model that has rubber on top and an underside finish that won't let the liner move in the booth. On the site is called DuoGrip Gomma.

Morning. So my folks had a scare just before Christmas. T-boned at a junction (see pics) on the way back after collecting my 9 year old lad. THANKFULLY all OK 🙏 Lad took bit of a bruising though from the impact/airbags going off as he was sat in the rear left and typical kid likely to have been leaning on the door. Anyway, their RX did its job and protected everyone
Currently waiting for it to be assessed but really can't see this amount of damage being buffed out...
SO...on the look out for a replacement. Dad wants to stick to Lexus (great) but this time get something smaller. New RX and NX remain too big so was looking at a (used) UX. Been to see a few and have a couple shortlisted - criteria being full leather (at a push the F Sport suede/leather split), nav (preferably the big screen variety), parking sensors front and rear and needs to be sub £20k (and still don't know what the insurance payout will be). Everything else is a bonus.
However, wanted to get your views on a few things please so reaching out to my forum brethren...
- Anyone please have a PDF brochure/spec sheets from when it was launched? Likely looking at 2019/20/21 model cars.
- Run flats - HATED these on the 5 series I had but I guess a necessity these days. Have had all-seasons fitted on cars but can only find some Conti's in the 225/50/18 sizing for the UX. Anyone had any luck with other brands (currently run Goodyear 4 Seasons and Michelin CrossClimates).
- Interior wear - in the cars seen so far it doesn't seem to matter whether it's done sub 20k miles or above 70K, the wear on the gear selector and steering seems excessive (super shiny/worn leather). How have you folk generally been holding up with the interior trim?
- Keep hearing about the canbus attacks on the RX, ES and NX. Presuming the UX is also affected??
Cheers,
Noman

I’ve just noticed, switches that go up and down have two lines on the edge, switches that just go down have one. Attention to detail or what?
Also, switches that go up and down have a line of protruding dots on the upper and lower surfaces. Whereas switches that move only down don't have.
This makes it easier to find the switches without having to look for them.

The sensors can be retrofitted by a Lexus service center. I live in Italy, and anterior and posterior parking sensors would cost 800,00 euros.
