I bought a 2008of a forum member earlier in the week. Ive not given it a proper wash but will do. Im planning on detailing the interior today. Ive hardly driven the car tbh its been parked up, had it MOT needed a few bits nothing major. Ive got four cars need to shift one or two of them lol. The tips flying off is really annoying hopefully someone will come along to the rescue. -

Car has a PPE exhaust but stock tips are in place well three now. I prefer the stock tips tbh. I may even put a stock exhaust on in the future not a fan of aftermarket exhaust but it sounds o.k i suppose. Anyone know how much they are from Lexus? -

Depends what’s available. Retraced the short drive no luck. if anyone has one or two tips lying around please let me know 🙂 thanks -
Hi all, Recently bought an ISF. Noticed one of my exhaust tips had fallen off. I didn’t do a huge journey so I retraced my journey but no luck. It was getting dark so I’ll go out again tomorrow. Can these be bought individually from Lexus? Anyone got a spare tip as a new one won’t blend with the old. Thank you.

Wanted to pick fellow members brains on what the driving position of the ISF is like, say compared to a M3 of the E90 generation? or maybe some other comparisons? Can it improved? Im fussy on driving positions etc... I found the driving position of the RS4 a touch high floaty. Also anyone kind of enough to take me out for a passenger ride? Happy to pay for fuel as these monsters like a good drink. Thanks -

Some great feedback, I came across your thread on pistonheads and your ISF pictures on the Pennine moors, certainly roads I go to every few months. Appreciate your feedback and your comments on a nice mix between the two was what I had in my mind. Cant wait to experience a ISF. -

This got my curious as i'm based in the greater manchester region, the insurance quote I got back was less than the RS4, so its certainly cheaper to insure. For comparison a M3 was almost £300 more! M3 / RS4 are proper theft magnets, I don't see ISF being a theft magnet it literally stays under the radar and insurance prices reflect that. -

Dont mention FD2 lol! Ive been eying those up, perfect DC2 upgrade, however Im looking to just run one car so its got to tick all the boxes! ill get shut of the Alpina and just have one car, the ISF is a seriously bit of kit, ive always admired them. I like the fact it flies under the radar and having supreme reliability. The Alpina has cost me a pretty penny to keep the wheels turning unlike the DC2, ive scratch that BM itch now lol! DC2 restoration will be complete in the coming week - i'll be selling that around spring / summer time. Hopefully a localish owner can take me out in there pride and joy and let me have a good look around - ideally a good example so I know what to look out for. -

I strongly considered a S2000 but must be a second car, however the lure of a large na displacement brings me here. Excellent, ive owned two DC2, Crx, civic vti's - hond are incredible motors, shame given emissions etc honda doesn't make peachy engines anymore. Yes sir to Japanese engineering, I think its greatly underrepresented in the car review world and german car dominance is everywhere. Nowt wrong with being different. German cars aren't bad but a common site just makes them less appealing certainly to me. -

Indeed, in all seriousness its more the engine character rather than stats etc. Looks like a few ISF owners have experienced the high reving honda engines so good for a little feedback/ banter. -

Indeed, Once the DC2 is restored i'll be selling it as I hardly drive it. Work commute is non existent its never been a better time for a large engine! lol Those civic vti's are legendary. My first car was a EK4! Never got the turbo thing even though my daily has two strapped to them - souless engine. -

Excellent stuff, Ive held on the DC2 for over ten years as a second car. I agree with the rawness, most of all I got into honda's because of the high reving NA motor and later adored the chasis balance. Although the ISF isn't as high reving as the old honda screamers its got a glorious sound never the less. -

I asked for that lol. Honda are great the type 2.2 was a all round great package shame the later Euro R didnt make it in the UK. -

Hi there, Passenger ride and general look around would be very gratful, ive never been in one! Now the RS4 B8 is a fine car, however its very rigid, it has a decentish chassis is, but a lifeless steering wheel, brakes are o.k to a point. The suspension leaks on these! Also you've got the engine carbon issues due to the direct injection - i didnt own mine for long enough for this to fester. Engines chew oil esp when pushing on, id top mine up several times between services. DSG is great when pushing on but around town it can have a mind of its own, it struggles between comfort and fast road drive when it auto mode and Dynamic is just silly unless your on track. If you get one with a warranty go for it, its one car a warranty is a must. I had the suspension, and a few other bits sorted under warranty at Audi. Also its very heavy on tyres and brake pads compared to the Alpina when is RWD and has alot more torque and weight not much less! -

Some good info, the DC5 is a incredible motor, a car I almost chopped in the DC2. I know they are like comparing to different cars but ur feedback is valuable. How is the engine in terms of its character to the K20? Thanks -

Thanks for the info. I think suspension including any worn bushings, tyres and a set of decent pads will be my main area of focus along with the radiator as mentioned. LSD will be one of the last upgrades unless I find a decent facelift one, money isn't a issue however I don't want to be paying over the odds for the pleasure of a facelift when differences aren't huge. -

Given the number of cars in the UK one cant be too fussy, for example my Alpina touring is 1 of 73! I waited almost a year for one to come up and was bought within hours of it coming on sale, i still remember sorting out the paperwork and the sellers phone was going of the hook! Being manual and fitted with most of the desirable options makes it rare, although high mileage it will sell quite quickly. A later ISF would be preferred but have no problem getting an earlier car and spending the money on the suspension, bushings and potentially the diff. Also probably due to the lack of cars on for sale there is a quite a price difference on preface lift and facelift cars. Thanks GMB for posting. Tax doesn't bother me i'm playing close to that across both my cars and having owned a RS4 in the past the £600 bracket i suppose its the cost for enjoyment? These cars are a dying breed and miss having a NA V8, M3 has a special place in my heart but cost of maintenance and crucially reliability puts me off. I can see your not a million miles away from me id love a nosey around your car and will happily pay towards fuel for a passenger ride over some open roads.
