Don't do it yourself, just pay Lexus to upgrade it for you. Some people have bricked their system, therefore don't take the risk.

@Steve Oliver after your battery change did you have reset anything? I had to manually close the boot lid and now my parking assist is unavailable. Therefore wondering if you faced anything similar.

Hey @Daranger, had I known what I know now, with the issues some people have faced with their system being bricked. I wouldn't risk it and just pay lexus to do the upgrade.

If your budget allows, you should look at the face-lift model which was available from the end of 2017, it seems in the lexus site they refer to it as 'Model year: 2019' i.e. https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/Nx-Estate/300h-25-SE-5dr-CVT-Premium-Nav-2WD-mqcfwnz

@AtomAnt were lexus able to install your AC/AA fine?

Not sure about car play but android auto doesn't support it hence why it doesn't work with the hud.

Looking at the tech site there seems to be an update to the files we installed in early September. So maybe they are waiting to iron out the bugs first.

You could put your VIN in lexus tech website and the software will appear if it is compatible.

I had that issue, and it was fixed when I used a different USB stick

@vegardo07 the main prerequisite is the version of your maps, it has to be 2018 v1. But there seems to be a lot of discussion around whether it affects your warranty and the fact that it doesn't work for everyone. Therefore you might as well wait.

I find this very surprising, lexus put their copyright software behind a paywall under the repair section and then call it unofficial. Sounds like 💩 and a means to keep the guys a the service centre busy. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying this software is for everyone to try without knowing the risk. But to call it unofficial 🙄 What next, don't do the map upgrade from the same website because its unofficial.

Yeah and also I guess trusting people not to turn their cars off during an update and breaking their system.

That's good, begs the questions why they don't make all system updates ota going forward.
