Sorry to hear the date is around one year. Unfortunately if we look at delivery dates given by Lexus in the last 6 months for the ES they have slipped. Hopefully the situation will improve
-
Would rather have 22 year model and get the CD player! Dealer here not called to advise about the change so if not for this forum would have no idea
-
If it is connected to the driving licence check. Why is it not charged on test drives?
-
Does the 2023 revision still have 4 wheels? We are not down to 3 are we?
-
Strange times a model just revised is being revised yet again less than a year later. the latest revision actually sounds like a UK government reform in which things are deleted and removed and then it is called 'progress'....

In my case the dealer communication has been absolutely abysmal. I pushed hard and requested a screenshot from their system showing the exact projected delivery date. They have not provided the screenshot still but have advised August is the new current date approx. Cannot state how disappointed I am with the local dealer really. Local Ford, Kia and Toyota dealers all of which I have experience with due to having a number of vehicles all far superior to the Lexus dealer experience.

Getting rid of the CD player oh no, very bad news for people that are not immersed in 'smart' phones. No CD player and no spare wheel, what will be removed next....

Ordered third week of November 2021. Been given multiple dates that have changed. Last date was July. Now slipped to August!

Should I use a trickle charger if car won’t be driven

Still waiting for my ES to be delivered so have no knowledge on the subject. Can any existing owners report when the vehicle is unused for how many weeks would it be before the batteries start to run low and there are issues starting? With conventional petrol cars I have been ok leaving them for 7-8 weeks and they start fine. A hybrid presumably should be charged before such a time? -
From reading the ES service intervals the minor appears to be just an oil change and visual inspection. At £300 give or take a courtesy vehicle without additional charge must leave the dealer still with a good margin. Especially when a casual scan of the web for Lexus technician salaries is not exactly very high. The margin must be higher than many other industries. The local Ford dealer offers a minor service for £179 plus 12 months manufacturer sponsored breakdown cover and free courtesy vehicle. A dealer representing a premium brand like Lexus should not be offering less

Surprised at this, even experience with the local Ford dealer has provided free courtesy vehicles for many years. Sets a very poor image what had been mentioned.

I think the relatively poor turning circle does not help things either. The UK infrastructure around multi storey car parks and spaces simply makes it an uphill battle for day to day use. For me personally I park as far away from anyone as possible and rather would walk but for some that may not be ideal. It is not the cars fault but the infrastructure really. Also people's attitude to park alongside with only inches to spare and then scratch an expensive ES paint finish is not a great thought!

Ordering a vehicle back in November 2021 should be trackable online by April 2022 with ETA for delivery. Even ordering a takeaway meal can be tracked but ordering a premium Lexus cannot be? Whilst the Lexus vehicles feel premium all other semantics to date feel about on par with Ford or other mainstream manufacturer, certainly not high end.
-
Suspect so many orders are delayed, sent an email to the dealer asking for update on the delivery considering the other reports of latency. Over 24 hours still waiting for a response. Does not feel like dealing with a so called premium manufacturer in my humble opinion. Very similar to dealing with the local Ford dealer all considered. If any customers order is delayed this should send a notification to the dealer to contact the customer to provide an update. Or better still provide a robust method for the customer to track the vehicle. Ordered back in November 2021 and still cannot track in the App or online, simply not good enough...

Any Lexus purchased new without a full tank of fuel would set a poor image of the brand for a new customer. Surely the guidance to their authorised dealer network is that new vehicles must be supplied with a full tank?
-
Cheapest Carwow price for the Premium Edition now seems £34,500 with standard Metallic. Which is quite a jump considering not long past it was £31,600 minus a few pounds.

I am sure Auto Express will have fault to find, it does not have a German badge and is not designed to navigate corners quickly...

Tend to agree about Mesa Red fits the lines of the ES perfectly. Has to be the best colour selection. Sadly for me the Mrs has a superstition that red cars are bad luck so was forced down the route of Graphite Black which is going to be a never ending task to keep clean.

It could be argued that putting pressure on the plastic wheel arch liner that then made more increased contact with the steel wheel arch caused paint perforation and then corrosion. Especially in an area that is permanently wet. Many corrosion claims in the motor industry are rejected, any reason will do...
-
Do not want to be negative but my advised date at the time of ordering has changed multiple times, I would suspect it will be September in any case. Many dealers seem to be well trained in the art of giving unrealistic initial delivery dates
-
A potential downside to fitting these is if corrosion started anywhere near the mud flap area which I am sure it would not but if it did occur Lexus would blame the fitment. It gives them a get out of jail free card in the event of panel corrosion

Well done on the deal, it is a large amount of car for £31.5k!!

After a 4 day wait found out that the delivery is now approx mid June. The dealer did not respond for the previous 4 days as they were 'busy'. The wait would have gone on longer than 4 days but by me calling them it is confirmed it is provisionally mid June. They do not do updates every few weeks to advise if the delivery date has moved but they have added me to a list in which they will update every 4 weeks approx by phone call. Sadly it looks as if the Cambridge branch of Stephen Eagell is a weak link compared to comments about the other locations.

As far as I am aware if you keep the vehicle with dealer servicing battery warranty is 15 years or 150k miles which is above the 'Relax' standard warranty of 100k miles and 10 years. Look to the Prius situation battery units are often repaired for a few hundred pounds by specialists depending on the fault. Does the ES also not use the old school Nickel style battery in which the individual cells can be repaired easily?

Edgware Road based dealer offered £31,590 last year and now £31,598 local dealer here in Cambridge after getting approval from the management matched it and agreed to give the rubber mats for free also. They said on that price there is no profit but they get to put through an additional registration. You would think armed with the Carwow offer any local dealer would match just to get a vehicle passing through the books as it all adds up when it comes to end of quarter bonus. Without metallic paint Premium Edition can be had for £30,995 although most people will want the metallic.
