Not sure it is right thing morally and to preserve reputation. Depends if they want to do right by the customer or act in a way that will put them off purchasing the brand again.

I picked up the ES around one week past. Rate of 4.9% was given and the document signed indicated Lexus would still be paying the £2k contribution. I plan to clear finance after the first payment. The right thing here is for the original agreement to be honoured push as hard as you can.

23 model year spec, did it not switch to the new spec at the factory on the first of Aug?

Finally got the car! Smooth handover at Lexus Cambridge. Only niggle was no spaces in the car park. Interesting driving transition to go from a Ford Mondeo to this!

The Sonic colour looks great, is it correct that this takes the list price over the margin for the higher road tax presuming it is the Premium Edition version?
-
Hopefully will be picking the vehicle up on the 19th. Been informed by the dealer it only comes with a quarter tank of fuel and that this is the Lexus standard amount. Anyone else got a full tank when collecting?

Some good news! Cannot track the vehicle in the App or website and nothing is showing but the latest advice is: Vehicle will be in the country in a few days then travel to Derbyshire for QC checks with a planned handover during November potentially near the end of the month. It would be so much easier if the vehicle could be tracked as had no idea it had even been built. Does anyone know if the finance can be paid off at handover or do you need to wait for payments to start? Did take out the finance option simply to get the Lexus £2k contribution.

Whilst still waiting for the ES, to make up for this did purchase a diecast scale 1:32 model from eBay, yes luggage space is a little limited but at least it arrived within 4 days. As opposed to nearly 12 months for the prototype and still waiting. The 1.32 scale should be incredibly reliable as there a minimal mechanical items to fail. The downside is though as the seats are hard plastic the comfort is compromised, although at least it is here. Communication for delivery was far superior for the 1:32 scale vehicle when compared to the Lexus dealer...

Ordered November 2021, message received advising November 2022 is likely arrival. No tracking, no App updates, no notification it has entered build. After querying it has been confirmed it is a MY23 vehicle. Whilst confidence is low we will see what does occur! Having only paid £31.5k that is the only positive...

Congratulations looks superb, nice choice of colour. Premium Pack has a decent specification. -
Engine Sludge Treatment is the new Air Con recharge....
Cs150 replied to Mincey's topic in Lexus ES 300h Club
This was a pattern decades past in which dealers offered a flush and fuel tank cleaner at a healthy margin. I would ask in writing if it was Lexus approved rather than a dealer franchise money maker. Seems more sensible to suction old engine oil out at 6 months/5k miles and then put fresh oil in. Can be done with a suction pump in 15 mins and should get around 80% out approx -
Ordered an ES Nov 2021 no ETA. Ordered a Toyota May 2022 this has just entered build and has an ETA of early November. Communication has been very good from the Toyota dealer and terrible from the Lexus one....

Cambridge dealership. If they said the vehicle will not show up until the end of 2023 whilst it would be unwelcome that would be better than silence. It at least would give a plan as to how long the current vehicle needs to be kept which is shortly due a major maintence expense. It looks a certainty that the £500 road tax charge will be attracted by the time the vehicle is physically here. Getting close to one year since ordering and 'no delivery' date can be shared.

As I have said before experience with the local Lexus dealer has been underwhelming. Levels of communication that make mainstream manufacturers look better. If they were to be judged on presentation e.g. shiny glass showroom and 'sharp' suited salesmen then it would be 10/10. If judging on communication and customer service e.g. returning messages and providing monthly updates then 3/10 would be generous. Can only conclude in other countries Lexus may be run better than in the UK and hold their dealers to higher standards.

More updates become important I would suggest when confidence fades within the dealership and the brand. When 4 projected dates are missed and then the 5th date has a value of 'we don't know' then confidence is not exactly high. Interestingly the dealer did not mentioned if it will be 22 or 23 model year spec until I pushed them only days past. No mention specifically of the features lost although online research gives the answer but it really should be the dealers job to explain this. Still cannot understand how a premium make does not allow tracking via an App or web portal when the order is placed. Since 2010 within the family we have ordered 6 new cars from 3 different brands and dealing with Lexus has been below par and inferior compared to the rest. Let's hope things get better but confidence is low and considering we got a huge discount will likely sell the vehicle for a small profit when it arrives. Will drive it for a month perhaps and then make a decision on if it stays.

/Go for it It all comes down to standards really, like most things in life different people have different standards. In 2022 if ordering a vehicle and 8 months later it is not trackable then indeed Lexus are doing a fine job. Ordering a new Toyota a few months after the Lexus has been an interesting comparison how for example the Toyota was trackable 10 minutes after placing the order. Surely a premium brand should not offer an inferior and informed experience compared to a mainstream brand. Perhaps with lower standards it is of course acceptable. After all it is only a near £40k list price car. We need a change. /Decommission keyboard

For those poor souls still waiting for an order to be fulfilled this is an interesting statement on the ES page of the website: Specifications shown are for model year 2022 UK vehicles, and subject to vehicle production lead times, the model ordered may be built according to model year 2023 specification. It is anticipated that your Lexus Centre will advise you of any changes in specification, and any price implication once your ordered vehicle goes into production (at the latest), at which point you have the right to accept such changes, or cancel your order and have any deposit returned to you.

Indeed if it was not for the Mrs would have told them where to shove it. After having dealt with Lexus since November 2021 and being a new customer to the brand would feel much more comfortable driving a Toyota (ironic I know) or a Ford and I feel such brands have better customer service levels. The only positive is we only paid £31,598 for a near £40k car. Will be convincing the Mrs and try to influence that we should sell for a small profit when it arrives and to forget this brand completely

Indeed very worrying for a vehicle ordered November 2021 that has already had three projected dates slip and now has no date. Dealer also not mentioned the MY23 changes and would be in the dark about this if not for this excellent forum. Ironically the vehicle cannot be tracked in the App. Even more ironic is that I ordered Toyota new around 5 weeks past for the Mrs and this can be tracked in the App and is apparently on target for a mid November delivery. Why is the Lexus experience inferior to the so called mainstream brand? Here is the templated response, As you may be aware due to the current climate in the world with Russia going to war with Ukraine and cases of Covid still slowing production like the 2-week closure of the Shanghai Port, Lexus are experience delays in fulfilling the huge demand for their vehicles. This has meant Estimated Time of Arrivals have been slipping. Lexus have changed the way we track the vehicles in relation to this. While your vehicle is in the que for going into build it is classed as a Non covered Order (NCO) at this stage we are not offered any additional information of estimated delivery date. Once the vehicle has passed into “Build” they will then give us updates of when it goes from Build to at Sea, From Sea to Arrival in the U.K and then finally from Depot to us here at Centre. This process usually takes around 2 and half months from start to finish. All of this information will be accessible by you as a customer on Lexus Link so if you haven’t already signed up I highly recommend doing so: https://www.lexus.co.uk/my-lexus/registration/ As I am sure you can appreciate, I am as keen as you are to handover your New Lexus as soon as possible. These things are out of our control at Dealership level but if there is anything I can do in my power to help I will. We value your custom extremely highly and your patience while waiting for your new Lexus to arrive is greatly appreciated.

Received an update that the expected date has changed to not giving a projected date! So dealer unable to give any indication when the vehicle will arrive!
-
There are many variables here, the poor service from Lexus since ordering has me planning to sell the car as soon as it arrives (if it ever does of course). The experience at the local Lexus dealer has shattered the Lexus experience for me personally to a point it cannot be recovered

Seems bizarre orders from mid Jan going in build but ones from Nov last year receive silence. Are orders for higher spec vehicles being produced first? I ordered the lowly Premium Edition
-
Ordered Nov last year, proposed delivery date changed more times than a political script. Communication poor, dealer experience poor, image of Lexus brand now poor. Not got the car yet and it is on a negative!
-
Agree with the comments my dealer has been absolutely abysmal far worse than other dealers carrying lesser marques. Are we saying that agreed prices at the time of order are not being honoured if you are switched to the new model? A little confused?

ES Traded in after 5 Months, Surplus Kit Available
Cs150 replied to SH20's topic in Lexus ES 300h Club
C-HR is actually a nice drive. Was impressed with the front seat experience and driving position. Rear seat is not so nice but in the front a decent car. Agree on the price rises, the bulk of the population is in for a serious time of reckoning as the fantasy financial system of the last decades comes crashing down
