Why a Dashcam?
Alan Thompson replied to Harrier Man's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Malcolm, in the 'Show & Tell' thread, Don C Has posted some pictures and info on him fitting a front & rear cam to his car. Here's the link to the page - it's towards the bottom: Alan -

I'll be refilling petrol when I have a trip to Southampton in August, so will have an mpg then. -

I've had my 450h+ since 1st March and I'm just a few miles short of 3000 travelled. I filled it up with petrol on day 1 and it's still not empty, although my fat right foot keeps accidentally squeezing the accelerator too much which starts the engine sometimes! I also get caught out on occasions by the regen - my commute includes a steep hill about a mile into my journey and if I start with a full battery and have to brake too often going down the hill, the petrol engine kicks in as the energy can't be stored (or so I'm told - I failed 'o' level physics) Overall I'm very pleased with the electric range, the available power and the car still makes me smile when I approach it in the car park. 😁 Had both the recalls done. My only niggle is, I've still not got my profile loaded, but I can live with that as the seat remembers my settings and moves into place. I've got a front & rear dashcam being fitted on Tuesday - haven't got round to it until now. -
So you don't like Sting and The Police then 'de do do do, de dah dah dah, is all I want to say to you' 😁

EV Home Chargers

https://chooseyourcharger.co.uk/ These guys help you compare chargers (online) and link you with local fitters. I've not used them personally, but know of them. -

450h+ Battery Range etc.
Alan Thompson replied to Alan Thompson's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
That's impressive Ken. I've not been paying much attention recently due to having other things to concentrate on, but mine regularly indicates 49 mile range on a full battery and I suspect that might grow a little bit as the weather warms up? -

Caspa, I bought a 10m Type 2 to type 2 cable 32 amp 7.2Kw from EVOneStop.co.uk for £142.80 in Dec 2021. It is very good quality. The business is the retail arm of Rolec I believe. This is still the current price: Your Shopping Cart - EV OneStop I use this instead of the Lexus supplied one as its a bit longer so means I don't have to park as near the chargepoint at home and I had it for my previous car. -

Mine's listed for the spot weld recall - not heard anything, but don't expect to until after the holidays. -
NX 2022 delivery date
Alan Thompson replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I'm still waiting for the protective bumper foil and my car was delivered to me on 1st March. I'm considering asking for the cost back and calling at a vehicle wrapping place locally to get them to fit something - surely its only a clear bit of laminate? -
Profile not loading

I'm certainly not wise as the following will demonstrate. I too have not got the car to recognise the key as being linked to a profile. It only recognises my work phone, which is the one I use through Bluetooth. My own phone, I didn't register through Bluetooth but is picked up with Android Auto. This is not recognised as my profile either. At some point I'm going to call in the dealer to sort it - so I feel your pain but can't offer any solutions. -

Andy, I think I've linked my work phone (which I turn off when I arrive at the office and before I leave the office) but not my personal phone which is always on. I'll have a tinker tomorrow. Thanks for your help. -

It was for information Andy - I'd worked it out. What I am struggling with though is my Lexus Link account - it all works on my mobile phone. My Android Auto works fine but when I get in the car I get registered as a guest and for it to recognise me I've to click on my profile and enter my password everytime! I'll have to call in Lexus Leeds and find some youngster who knows about these things 😁 -

450h+ Battery Range etc.
Alan Thompson replied to Alan Thompson's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I didn't pass GCSE physics, so I struggle with all this 😁 So are you saying my 70% to full is actually somewhere between 49% & 63%? My calculation is close enough for me - maybe i should remove the word accurately? -
I must same I am impressed by the battery range on my car. Today I did a mixture of driving (some good, some bad - no, that's supposed to be a joke, 😁) I meant some motorway, some A & B Roads and in a bit of traffic. I started with an expected range of 44, I didn't use the aircon/heating, I had the sunroof open on tilt all the time - It's sub-tropical in West Yorkshire, I also had the radio and sat nav on plus plugged in to Android Auto so my phone was charging too! I actually achieved 46 miles before the engine kicked in. Now I've got the app working fully, the range is based on 70% usage of the battery (the remaining 30% is reserved for other things?), so I can accurately calculate my electricity charging costs using the formula =(18.1*0.7)*0.1989 where 18.1 is the full battery capacity, 0.7 is the amount of battery used and 0.1989 is my current electricity cost per Kwh. When this goes up in April I will amend that. I hope this is helpful for some people - pre-app I would have been assuming that 0 range meant I had to charge the battery 100% to full Hopefully that makes sense?

Hi Andy I finally remembered to take a photo of the rear skirt this morning! Sorry it's taken so long and the car is a little dirty. I couldn't get totally central due to the wife's car being in the way, but hope this okay? -
EV Range after 4 years
Alan Thompson replied to Bish1402's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Thanks for the tip @ColinBarber My usual commute is 7 miles each way, so I can do 80% easily. It's now remembering to unplug it earlier 🤣 -

Alan Thompson replied to Bish1402's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
@Bish1402 One thing I have noticed that is different is the way the regeneration works with the flappy paddles. With the Mitsi you can go to zero, so no rolling resistance, whereas D is the lowest setting and there is still some brake regen taking place -probably it's the standard Lexus Hybrid tech taking over? -

Very strange - I know there was a recall for MY2019 cars for some software updates. Probably the same one that makes them easier to steal!! Waiting for my 450h+ to be delivered I was short-term leasing a Volvo XC40 Electric and the handbook suggested that only charging to 80% on a regular basis was the best way of preserving that battery!! It's all sorcery and witchcraft 🤣 -

PCP gives the risk back to Lexus Finance, or looking at it another way gives flexibility to make a decision armed with the facts in 3 years time. I didn't suffer that level of degradation with my 2018 Mitsi, probably 10% in 3 years? -

Hi Andy I'll get you a better photo of the rear skirt. If you want to point your dealer in the direction of where I found them, they are listed in the accessories section once you configure your car on the Lexus website. Yes it was Lexus Leeds that supplied my car. Hope that helps Alan -
NX 350h v. 450h+
Alan Thompson replied to N GJ's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
You mentioned best Residual value - I would think the best way to decide that would be to get a quote from Lexus for PCP using the likely timescale you usually keep your car, then work out the percentages. The 450h+ is likely to be a higher value due to its initial extra cost, but is it the higher percentage?
