  1. Not had this issue - I do occasionally get a message that car is unlocked when it isn't, but that's a rare occurence. Car 1 year old next month, 7500 miles.
  2. And this morning I followed my own advice - put it in eco then put the defog on temp 21 degrees - engine started up. That blew my theory out of the water!! 😂
  3. Have you tried putting the car in eco mode before turning the defog on? And/or turn the temp down a couple of degrees. Don't know if it works on this car but it used to in the outlander.
  4. I find a quick wipe across the lens with my finger when i open the boot works as good as anything, although I have to admit I did put the reverse camera on and give it a squirt this morning to test the washer as I didn't know about it.
  5. I had a similar - but not as drastic an issue with the key fob I use. I've only used the one fob since I got the car (1st March 2022). It stopped working in October so when I took the car in for the last recall, I complained that I'd never had a car where the battery only lasted 7-8 months. They just changed the battery and its worked ever since. Has anyone else had to change batteries yet?
  6. 30 x £41.75 = £1252.50 so it looks like you are getting a discount? There's usually an 'admin charge' included for paying by monthly direct debit. I was quoted £1.25 per month when I enquired in May 2022.
  7. Also had mine adjusted on LTA recall. I couldn't open mine after being alerted by a previous thread. According to the Service receptionist, Lexus have issued a technical bulletin about this problem, so were all likely to get another letter!
  8. My original answer was a bit non-committal about where to find the appropriate toggle button, so, if you've not found it yet........Press the climate button on the screen. On mine it gives two options, the top one is a toggle for climate concierge which should control this.
  9. Phil In the car settings, there is something called climate concierge - I think this controls how much 'service' you get. By turning it off you only get the air con not the seats and wheel heat? On the stone water bottle, I guess the stopper or the top could give you a nasty shock if you turned over in bed without being careful 😂
  10. Mine has dropped from an indicated 53 to 51 and I expect it to drop further as the temperature drops. As for the engine kicking in, it has happened to me too. I think this again depends on ambient temp as well as the load on the battery. So, if you've got the heating on, the rear windscreen, radio etc, the engine decides to help. I've not read the manual, but on my old Outlander PHEV this happened too, but you could stop it from happening by starting in ECO mode. As I say, I don't know if this is the case with the NX, I've not tried it.
  11. Download the 450h+ Multimedia Manual, there's a whole section on this I think it's in Section 8. Also, along with the main manual (also downloadable) it can be your homework for the long dark nights until your car arrives 😁
  12. There's been some comment on here about the cost of electric now being greater than petrol, but I can't agree. Please tell me if I'm wrong If a kwh of leccy costs me 33.029p (octopus current rate) and the car shows 3.1 miles per kwh, then each mile costs me 10.65p. Petrol is around £1.60 per litre (around £7.25 per gallon). I would have to achieve over 68 mpg running on petrol hybrid only to be worse off. I've not included any of the daily standing charge as I would have to pay that even if I didn't have a PHEV. I suppose the argument was being made before the Government intervention where the petrol mpg would have to be around 45 mpg and again, for my mix of driving which is mainly in and out of Leeds, Wakefield & Bradford I think that would still be marginal.
  13. Having set off to Southampton with a full tank of fuel and a full charge (cost of this charge included above, so no cost of electric to add), I got 10 miles of electric for free at a PodPoint in Winchester while we had a coffee. Left the car for almost 2 weeks with around 55% charge. Set off back yesterday with just about enough range to get home to Leeds. Due to road closures on A34 near Oxford we ended up snaking around towards Swindon and I saw a fuel station at £1.639 per litre so decided to fill up. At that point, total fuel added 5.83 gallons for 313 miles covered at 53.7 miles per gallon. Battery had 1 mile range showing. I'm happy with that. Speed? I usually stay on or a few miles above the speed limit where conditions permit, so I wasn't driving Miss Daisy. As I'll now be back to mainly local driving, so using very little fuel, I have decided not to carry the extra weight of a full tank of petrol around until I need to.
  14. I filled up on day one (1st March) with odometer showing 29 miles. I've filled up today with odometer showing 3838, not put any fuel in between. Today put in 39 litres (8.58 gallons) to fill again. That works out at 444 miles per gallon. I am not naive enough to think that this is a true representation, so I thought if I add the cost of the fuel (£65) to the cost of all my electric charges (£255.82), divide that by todays fuel price per litre (£1.669) after converting to gallons, this will provide an equivalent number of gallons to the total cost, then divide miles covered (3809) by the equivalent gallons: All fuel cost 65 + 255.82 = £320.82 Cost per gallon 166.9*4.54609 = £7.587 320.82/7.587 = 42.29 gallons 3809/42.29 = 90.06 mpg Sits back and waits for those cleverer than me to blow my theory/calculation/premise out of the water. What have I missed? I'll do the same calc again when I've been to Southampton and back in the next couple of weeks, se what's changed.
  15. If I understand you correctly, Page 362-65 of the owners manual explains how to show this either on the driver display or the main screen.
  16. Again, I was thinking back to the Mitsi - I know things will have evolved and different manufacturers will have slightly different systems but on the Outlander, the 12v battery was charged daily from the drive battery to ensure certain systems were maintained and the suggested level of charge for the drive battery if you were leaving it stood for a period was ~50%. I should manage that as we are staying overnight at Newbury where there is a charge point, so charge to full there before we leave and use a mix of battery with ice for the rest of the motorway journey to allow me to achieve this.
  17. No, I've never used the engine to recharge - although I think it does it automatically to a certain extent? I don't take notice of mpg until I fill up (I haven't done that yet). I'll work out approx. overall mpg when I do fill up.
  18. Almost all of my journeys since I got the car (1st March 2022) have been covered by battery. I've said before I filled up the petrol tank on 1st March and have not yet needed to do it again. Although I now only have 1/4 of a tank left. As of tonight I've covered 3671 miles. What I have done is forced the ice to run every now and again - usually when I'm doing a motorway journey of around 10 miles, for two reasons. 1) to keep the engine lubricated (I'm no mechanic but think that will work - feel free to dis-abuse me of my thoughts) 2) I'd been conditioned during my Mitsi Outlander ownership that petrol will degrade over time and the Outlander used to force the engine to start until you added at least 15 litres of fuel every 90 days. I'm doing a round trip from Leeds to Southampton soon, so will fill up before I go and see if I need any more fuel on my return journey? My big concern is how much battery charge should I have when arriving in Southampton so I don't end up with flat batteries when I collect the car for my return journey 2 weeks later.
  19. I believe the main 'driver' for this is to assist partially sighted/blind people so they are alerted to cars which are not using an engine. But the debate got me thinking, maybe it could be driver programmed - I'd like the sound of an ice cream vans chimes Any other suggestions?
  20. Not personalised by me, but my 18 plate Mitsubishi Outlander ended FEK. I was thinking of having a sunstrip made up with Ted & Dougal 😁 But actually, I uttered something very similar to the registration when I realised the car had been stolen from the car park near my office last July! I had a number on retention acquired from DVLA when 70 plates first became available, thinking the 7 looks like a T and it spells my nickname. Most people have trouble seeing it as a T, but it's there for me and like others have said, it's easy to remember now it's on my NX450h+
  21. that's probably why the doctor got a figure of 15.5kwh. i don't have a smart charger, mines 'dumb' as I had it fitted in 2018, so I'm doing my calculations on the back of a fag packet!! 🤣
  22. Marc Don't forget when the battery is 'empty' ie: no miles of EV range left, there's still around 30% (~5.5Kw/h) left so you are only charging 70% (~12.6Kw/h) to full.
