Hi Ken R, Just visiting from the NX forum! 😁 I had the tyre & alloy wheel insurance on the last NX (and now on my new one). I made a claim on the first car as I had a tyre replaced due to a puncture. They paid out without fuss the max of £250 per claim - just one word of warning, if claiming for a new tyre, make sure you download the claim form and follow the instructions BEFORE you get the tyre fitted. I didn't and had to revisit the dealer to get photos and sign off by the service team. I can't get the minor repair insurance as the small print says if you use the car for business you aren't covered - I have business use on my insurance as I travel to meetings with clients. You more 'mature' folk are alright. 😄

Like Ken R, I too got one that was Lexus stock , just about to land in UK. Not being as picky as Ken R 😁😁, I was able to get a new NX that matched my needs (I had to forego a sunroof - not an essential to me - but got everything else I wanted)

Noise when running on electric motor
Alan Thompson replied to Roger Bill's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
I talked about this on the NX forum last year: Mine makes a noise like someone dis-embowelling a dalek, I can sometimes hear it in the car, but it does cut off at 15mph. It's only when going forwards. I think if it beeped like a reversing truck (Kia's do this?) would make me want to change my car. Apparently it's a UN directive (UN R138.01) picked up by many countries, to help vulnerable road users to be more aware of almost silent BEVs & PHEVs. You would think that as we've spent £50, 60, 70k on a car we should be able to choose the noise it makes - I'd pick the sound of an ice cream van and turn the volume up, to upset the expectant children when they see it's me and not the ice cream man coming down the street!! 😂 -
NX 2023 delivery date
Alan Thompson replied to Chance521's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I collected a new 450h+ on 15th March, locking bolts in glove compartment, but only one full key (I got a separate blade as well). Other full key to follow but wasn't given a timescale. -
Car collected yesterday afternoon. A far better experience all round this time (salesman, car & paperwork all ready). They have a 'handover specialist' now who helped me set everything up on the multimedia stuff. So far, no issues with profile not been recognised or anything. 😁 I guess last time (March 2022) we were all learning together as the car was still a new model and the salesman didn't have much of a clue.

It has got runflats on, but I needed it changing quickly (Dad in palliative care in hospital) so I needed a speedy solution and Lexus Leeds stepped up to the plate having a replacement in stock. By the way, i didn't stay in the showroom buying a car rather than visiting the hospital - I revisited after my Dad's passing!!

Yes, I know who they are owned by. If we were all wired the same and did the same, wouldn't it be a boring existence? There is no right or wrong, we generate income and have the freedom to spend how we want. I suppose because I had jobs with company cars for a long time - often changing at shorter intervals than 2 or 3 years, I have that mindset. As I said before, I am now looking at retirement and whilst I still can, I am changing. It may be that I end up keeping this one for many years, but I doubt it.

No Len, I am getting a different colour although the comment about colour change was a joke about ensuring the neighbours know I've got a new car. You are never going to win buying and selling cars (sometimes even if you are a dealer)! I'm getting a new 24 reg one. I am fortunate in being able to do it, I bought it in February when there was an offer on, got both a discount and a good price for the p/x (£6k better than WBAC), although I didn't shop around. Also, they have transferred my pre-paid service contract so I've got 2 years with only RFL & insurance to pay (touch wood). 🫰 This may be my last 'family-size' car, so I'm just kicking that decision a bit further into the long grass. In typing this, Len, you've made me think - maybe I should cancel 😂

Like Ken R, I too am changing my 2 year old NX450h+ Premium Plus, but I'm staying with the NX, same model just a different colour - so the neighbours know I've got a new car 😁 I only went in because I got a puncture!!! 😁 Swapping Sonic Grey with Red interior for a Sonic Titanium with black interior I did look at the RX but it is too big for our needs. I pick my car up tomorrow, it's been in the UK since 6th March and I could have had it at the beginning of this week, but had other things to attend to.

12V battery problem
Alan Thompson replied to David Williamson's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Why do you need to access the battery when you can still open the bonnet and access the jump start points in there? -

Alan Thompson replied to David Williamson's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
The battery is not under the bonnet (it's in the boot). However, the jump start points ARE under the bonnet - see pages 727 & 728 of the user manual. -
App version please
Alan Thompson replied to Harrier Man's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I've got 2.5.2(234) - PRODUCTION showing on my account screen on my phone. Is that any help? I've not updated the car system with the latest updated due to all the problems I'd read people were having. The car shows software version 1040. -
Changing to an f-sport???
Alan Thompson replied to Ken R's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Premium Plus has 20" wheels, I haven't checked but think it might be the entry level Premium that has 18" wheels. -
Changing to an f-sport???
Alan Thompson replied to Ken R's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Ken, I'm sure you are living my life in parallel to me!!! 😁 I've been having a similar debate with myself today - I've had 2 emails from Lexus Leeds. One inviting me to have a meeting with their Retention Manager to look at how my PCP is going and the other inviting me to their Priority Access Event where they've got some bonus offers available!! (I don't know which is the 'take it with a pinch of salt' emoji) 🫢 I've been around the motor trade long enough to know they are just drumming up enquiries. Anyway, it did get me thinking. Like your car, mine is 2 years old on March 1st and whether it might be worth finding out how long it would take to build and deliver a new one these days as well as whether I could get a deal that would suit me. I won't be tempted by the F-Sport though - I remember test driving one when the first few cars were in the UK and being a gentlemen with quite a 'stocky' build (fat) !!! I found the bolsters on the seats too snug for me. -
Up 0.1 across both figures today 48.3/42.1 ICE kicked in at 28.3 miles, with 2 miles EV range showing.

frozen doors
Alan Thompson replied to johns250's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Had another call late Friday 12th from Lexus Leeds saying parts haven't arrived and pushing it back another two weeks. Just out of interest, has anyone else had this work completed at Lexus Leeds and when? -
Creaks and rattles
Alan Thompson replied to Richolf's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I've had an intermittent rattle/noise form the passenger side and it only appears on random occasions. I worked out that when there is no one in the passenger seat, the seat belt buckle, if it hasn't retracted flat to the trim rattles against the trim. I lean across and move it, issue solved - until next time. -
Tonight it's 48.2/42.2 - a bit colder in Leeds today. Managed 30 miles on my last charge.
