I've only ever had a problem once - and that was on my Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. I'm on my second 450h+ without issue. I've left it for 2 weeks to go on holiday and had no issues. Because of the issue I had with the Mitsi I bought a jump start booster pack which is only the size of a large mobile phone but haven't used it. I do charge this up before I go away and always leave the car with about 50% charge in the traction battery when parking it for an extended period.

Just charged mine now and app is showing 56.5/53.2 although last actual was ~40 miles on a mix of roads including some motorway.

Hi Andy, I might be telling you something you already know/have done, so my apologies if this is the case! One or two of us on here have had success getting the tyres changed from our local Lexus dealer. Might not be the cheapest but they've had them in stock when needed. Alan Thompson (No relation! ) 😁

Haha, a compliment on spending from a Scotsman to a Yorkshireman, I feel honoured. 🤣

In Feb 2024 I paid £296 (no haggling or Lexus Forum Discount - I just needed a tyre!) from my Lexus Dealer. This was for a direct replacement Bridgestone Alenza RFT. I'd taken out Tyre & Alloy insurance at the time of buying the car, so claimed £250 back which was a simple process.

Servicing cost question
Alan Thompson replied to fbrj's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I've just dug out my service plan documentation for the new NX I bought 15 March 2024. It's for I/F/I and 1 x MOT Cost of £1244.85 which is the actual current costs of the above service schedule & MOT (thanks Ronnie). So I'm locking in today's prices for the first 3 years -

Its a long time since I've had a car long enough to need one, Ronnie 😂 -

With the 3 year service plan you are also likely to get the first MOT included - is that about £60 these days? -
Lexus Link + down again
Alan Thompson replied to DeeWee's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Hi Ken Mine recorded one of two journeys yesterday and the same again today! -
I am now on my second NX450h+ Premium Plus. I've not had any issues with the 12v battery and I don't put it in ready when loading or anything else. Having had a problem with the 12v battery when I had a Mitsubishi Outlander Phev I bought and still carry a power pack. So far in nearly 2.5 years I've not had to use it. Note to self - must give it a charge 😁 On tyres, I was grateful for the run flat when I had a puncture on my way to visit my Dad in palliative care in hospital - it meant I didn't have to get dirty changing the tyre, or hang about for the roadside assistance, as time was of the essence that day! The next day I took the car to Lexus Leeds and they fitted a new tyre from stock. The original wasn't repairable. This was Feb '24. In April I had a puncture (on the new car) and I got that repaired at my local tyre place. I've taken out the Lexus Tyre & Alloy insurance on both cars and it has been an easy claim process (but read & followed the instructions before getting the tyre changed/repaired!)
-
Mine was about £350 and covers a number of replacement tyres (if irrepairable), punctures and alloy refurb if damaged. Max claim per tyre is £250 and maybe if I'd had time to shop around I could have got one fitted nearer that price.
-
I had an issue in February when I had a puncture on a run flat. The tyre wasn't repairable and due to family serious illness I needed a tyre to be swapped quicker than Max Verstappen! Anyway, I took the car to Lexus Leeds and they had replacement in stock. It wasn't cheap - around £290 but I had taken the tyre & alloy insurance when I bought the car so was able to claim £250 back. The claim process was easy and the payment came quickly.

Key Fobs
Alan Thompson replied to Steve Dobson's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I got a call from Lexus Leeds before I got the Lexus letter. I'm booked in for next week for the 2nd key fob to be programmed. This will be exactly 3 months since collection of the car. -
EV range on NX450h
Alan Thompson replied to alkar101's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Currently the range is showing around 47 after a full charge and i, achieving around 45. This may grow a little more as the weather gets (and hopefuly stays) warmer. During the winter shows around 38 and get about 32. This is my experience, now on my second 450h+. First from Mar 22 to Mar 24, then new one in which I've covered 1250 miles. -
Hi Kevin Back in August 2022 when I wrote the original post I was on 27.35p, I have never been on a cheap electricity tariff, I don't have a smart meter. This can cause a problem with accuracy as I have to estimate the actual electricity taken. Increasing my electricity cost by 10% would reduce mpg to 85. My figures look high because between 1/3/22 (when I collected the car and filled with petrol) and 17/8/22 when I next refilled, I'd done a lot of short trips meaning that I rarely used fuel, so the majority of my 3809 were completed on electricity. Unfortunately, I don't record the actual miles covered on electricity for each journey and I can't interrogate the car as I've swapped it for a new one. I have looked back and can see that the last time I filled the car with petrol was 31/12/23 with 15256 miles completed since 1/3/22. (I changed it on 16/3/24and didn't fill up again so I've ignored anything after this date). Running my logic again for approx. 'whole of life' I'd got to: All fuel cost Petrol 603.96 + Elec 1090.61 = £1694.57 Approx. Average Cost per gallon 1.55*4.54609 = £7.05 1694.57/7.05 = 240.36 gallons 15256/240.36 = 63.47 mpg or 59.5 mpg if I increase Elec costs by approx 10%. Obviously, this will vary per car as we all live different lives, The vast majority of my trips are local, less than 20 miles, so covered on electric - sometimes I do choose to run on petrol so it's not sat around in the tank for ever. If you are running the ICE more often, the mpg will be lower? @Ken R is this how you calculate your figures?

I am using a 'dumb' charger (pre-smart ones that tell you more info), so I calculate my charges by using the lexus Link app to tell me the amount of charge remaining in the battery - remembering that 30% is ringfenced and not generally used for driving. I then calculate how many Kw/h it will take to fill and multiply that by the cost of electricity. I'm not on any fancy tariff so if there is 47% charge left in the battery the formula I use is 18.1*0.53*0.2736 this gives a £ value of £2.62. I disregard the fact that there will be some 'leakage' which means I'm underestimating slightly, but it is near enough for me. And yes I have a spreadheet 😁

Hi Pally I'm here snooping from the NX Forum - I've got to keep my eye on Ken R !! 😂 Anyway, I've copied and pasted a post from an NX 450h+ Range forum back in 2022 about how I calculate mpg - I do it over a longer time than a single trip though. Hopefully this might help?: "I filled up on day one (1st March) with odometer showing 29 miles. I've filled up today with odometer showing 3838, not put any fuel in between. Today put in 39 litres (8.58 gallons) to fill again. That works out at 444 miles per gallon. I am not naive enough to think that this is a true representation, so I thought if I add the cost of the fuel (£65) to the cost of all my electric charges (£255.82), divide that by todays fuel price per litre (£1.669) after converting to gallons, this will provide an equivalent number of gallons to the total cost, then divide miles covered (3809) by the equivalent gallons: All fuel cost 65 + 255.82 = £320.82 Cost per gallon 166.9*4.54609 = £7.587 320.82/7.587 = 42.29 gallons 3809/42.29 = 90.06 mpg Sits back and waits for those cleverer than me to blow my theory/calculation/premise out of the water. What have I missed?"

Just looked back to my first 450h+ shown above (should read 9/5/2023) which at this time last year will have been 14 months old with approx 10k on clock. In May 2022 there was another thread we were noting range on - I'll see if I can find any posts from then as my new car has some 'learning' to do !! UPDATE: I've found the other thread, titled: NX 450h+ electric and petrol range, but it seems like I was more interested in working out the mpg than a day to day electric range then!!
