  1. As my earlier post when I had ordered a premium plus which has electric seats, never dreaming they would not have memory settings, that's what my current Kia Niro has and Sportage before that so surely a premium brand would but no. So cancelled and reordered Takumi, didn't want to pay that much but had to bite the bullet. Bill D.
  2. Well the simple answer to your question in my case Roger is no but I can say that as my wife will also drive the car, electric seats with memory is a must for us, manual seats very often have adjustments which are incremental, electric seems to have a finer control. Hence my reason for biting the bullet and going for a Takumi (still waiting) When I first went to have a look at Lexus cars I was quite surprised that any of them had manual seats anyway, not what I was expecting on a premium brand. Bill D.
  3. Re David Jan 17th. After a couple of months how are you getting on with your white ash seats David. Bill D
  4. Looks great Pawel, noticed the 68.1 mpg on the gauge was that on just a short run. I guess from your post this may be your first hybrid, I have 3 years experience of my current Kia Niro, (not plug in version) they come into their own around town as a higher percentage of their time is on electric than on a long run so you will see less mpg then. I found with mine I can trick the gearbox to change up earlier if I think it is holding on to a low gear for too long by just lifting off accelerator for a second (this is with my dual clutch box, may not be the same with the Lexus CVT) , otherwise it is mainly eco driving good practice, no excessive braking or acceleration (gentle acceleration more likely to be on electric) etc. Energy recovery begins when you lift off and increases further when you brake. 5. Hi Darrel, I had a call from Lexus Bristol where I placed the order telling me that there is a lot of movement on deliveries at the moment, according to information they have is that mine is now showing July rather the original May quoted but this is a very fluid situation and could change again for the better or worse and for this reason the dealers don't contact their customer every time they have a change signalled up. They did not know why the Lexus website is not working properly which is fair enough, not something the dealer controls. Lexus customer care said they will investigate. So dear reader not good news and not designed to make me feel any better, feeling pretty rubbish and tested positive for Coronavirus yesterday. Bill D.
  6. Interesting Daniel, so is yours that updated spec? I must admit I do like sequential indicators, they catch the eye much better which is what an indicator should do surely especially useful with a lot of modern day light clusters which seem to be form over function. Won't help with all too common habit however of indicating in the same moment you start the turn, what's the point then, it's obvious you are going to turn if you are already turning, i'm sure you would never pass a test doing that.
  7. Decided to contact Lexus UK, had a very nice reply, I told them my order was originally shown but suddenly disappeared. I was asked if I was I able to share the link on the forum website, not sure what this means? Anyway they are looking into it. Bill D.
  8. Great news Pawel, there seems to be a big variation in production times looking at various posts, is it trim dependent, what trim is yours Pawel. Bill D.
  9. As my previous posts I have been able to log into my account on the Lexus website which previously showed both a 'owned' and 'orders' tab, the orders tab is no longer there. My delivery date was estimated to be end May/early June handover. Not been expecting it to be in production just yet but bearing in mind these dates shouldn't be too far off now, just worried me why the orders tab had disappeared. Bill D.
  10. Mornin' all. been away for a few days, just logged in and still no 'orders' tab. Have Lexus given up the trace your order feature? a note on the website to that effect would be useful if that is the case. Bill D.
  11. BooHooo thought I had better keep my Kia clean whilst waiting for my UX, washed it yesterday, a rare dry day, today wet again and we live down a sh...mucky country lane, back to square one. Bill D.
  12. I know that some of you had problems finding this but strange thing is I didn't, have acessed it several times but it's suddenly gone. I hope the car is more reliable than their marketing which to be honest seems a shambles one way or the other. Bill D.
  13. Wierd, just tried again and still just one tab - 'Owned' Bill D.
  14. Well, here's a thing, went onto Lexus website, logged in to see if any progress on my order and the only choice I have now is 'owned cars' which I do not have, but no tab as there was last time I looked, for 'orders' Any one else had this? Bill D.
  15. David, not got my Lexus yest but I have a similar problem on my Kia Niro in various places, same on every car in one way or another I guess. I find that I can loosen quite a bit with a hose pipe at close range, never liked using pressure washes on a car. Car looks nice from the bit you show, is it Sonic Titanium, this is the one I went for. Bill D.
  16. Browsing through the UX Takumi spec. for the 99th time, whilst impatiently waiting for mine, I picked up on something I had not noticed before, it said sequential turn indicators, taking this literally I assume they are those cool strip of LED lights that light up... well sequentially, al la Audi. Never noticed this on a Lexus UX but then I don't see many UX models about, not many Lexus's, Lexi, Lexae??? come to that, this being one of the things I like, Audi, BMW, Mercs, ten a penny. Any one throw light (excuse pun) on this. Bill D.
  17. Spoke to a releative yesterday who had just bought a new Skoda electric car with kick feature electric tailgate. Interestingly he could not get it to work so took it back to dealers who asked him to show them how he did it. Told him he had to take step back otherwise sensors would not allow the boot lid to rise. Bill D.
  18. Hi guys, I placed my order for a UX Takumi on 6th Jan. delivery May quoted. Based on your experience when do you think it is likely to go into production. Bill D.
  19. Moisture in car lights is not common but not unknown, the fact is unless the light unit is hermetically sealed containing only a dry gas it will contain moisture as does all ambient air and condensation will come and go with temperature. that is assuming it is not a faulty unit that actually leaks in water (as distinct from vapour) Bill D.
  20. This all sounds like poor communication between Lexus and their dealers. Bill D.
  21. Johan, I am waiting for my Lexus UX but I can say on the basis of my experience with my present car, a Kia Niro, it is best to leave the car to do it's own thing, the electronics sense what needs to run at any one time although my Kia does not have an electric mode button. Hybrids are clever systems so don't worry about it too much especially at starting, everything needs to warm up at some stage anyway and milege on electric alone is not much, the purpose of the hybrid system is an IC engine with a small amount of electric backup. Bill D.
  22. Putting my two pennorth in. I am waiting for a UX Takumi, looking forward to it immensly but went for it with open eyes knowing full well that despite being bigger than my current Kia Niro, poor packaging design means cramped back seats and a smaller boot in the UX. I justified it on the grounds of most of the time it will carry me and my wife, dropping seats down will give us enough space for holiday luggage (if we go self catering I have to say it is not far off everything including the kitchen sink thanks to the need to take substantial amounts of gluten free foods as I have a gluten intolerence) and well ok, I just wanted one, very little sensible reasoning with a car choice if you are a car enthusiast. (well I did buy a Austin Allegro and a Metro, both very good cars I have to say in defence) My bet is when Lexus redesigns the UX it will bring it more in line with other brands better use of space utilisation. Bill D.
  23. So the mystery continues, will it won't it, I await with interest what turns up in May, not a deal breaker but a useful feature when you have your arms full, if it is reliable of course. Bill D.
  24. Also Arnold Weinstock of GEC, what happened to all these great companies. Bill D.
  25. PS Brent, in my job (industrial fan engineer) I have been to Teeside, Humberside, many of the ICI plants (remember them) in that area and Cheshire, steelworks in Wales etc thsi will be strange to people that look the other way at such sights but I loved 'em. I supplied a very large fan to the Conoco refinery up there and it was handling a quantity of this oil based coke, the other coke is coaling coke, incidentally what the proposed new mine that there is so much fuss about, is for I bellieve. So stop the mine and buy it all in from somewhere that have far less stanadards than us, that will make ok won't it (NO) coking coal is required for steelmaking. We have a problem in the UK where there are so few people in manufacturing these days that we have a vociferous army of non technical people that spout total uninformed nonsense. Bill D.
