  1. We got a penalty for failing to display. They were right, the sticker fell off the dashboard and thus failed to display. We paid £60 for the privilege. Two issues: 1 Our beloved gov't tried to block these unfair practices and fell at the last hurdle being afraid of going to court. Typical tories could not give a toss and allow these parasitic crooks to walk all over us. 2 The appeals system is a joke and we have no protection from these money grabbing bar stewards who cheat the public in plain sight. What can we do? Not a lot. Nobody in Authority cares anyway. Unless you know some dodgy folk who can find out where they live and "explain" how we all feel. I think one of the parasitic directors is based in Australia.
  2. Trouble is, the tea leaves won't know which model is protected and beggar up the bodywork while attempting the job. Best of luck with the dilemma. Maybe hold off for a bit until the problem is resolved to a certain extent. Lexus, we await your proposals with baited breath. take a leaf out of JLR's book.
  3. Don't you mean jumping ON something red ............etc
  4. There are some particularly nasty speed bumps at the entrance to the Middlebrook shopping/ parking fine centre. The cars go over them ( just about ) at very low speed but the bike frame actually hits the damn things. I have to go right next to the kerb to find a lower bit.😖
  5. I remember seeing an article in the paper ( - with a photo that someone took ) a few years ago of a drunken "chappie" weeing into a parked Porsche convertible in London. So I get your point about the damage.
  6. If I won the lottery I would go and live somewhere nice ( not in Britain ). And have my driveway cobbled like Stephen's. But without the moss.
  7. You know, I never thought of it that way. That's proper and correct logic for you. And a motorbike is half as likely to get a puncture😉
  8. Unless you are paying a lot of dosh nowadays, double garages are quite rare.
  9. Good idea. I have a small piece of wood placed at the rear limit so the car tyre has a simple barrier/ indicator.
  10. The current trend for housebuilders is to not build a garage in the first place. I asked one builder why and was told that no-one used them for cars except for storing junk in them. As said before, they are too small anyway. These builders now tend to do away with garages and front gardens and instead put in place two tarmac'ed parking spots. It makes the whole area look like a parking lot. It is truly awful.
  11. Once you have smashed it through the back wall into the garden you can open the doors easily.
  12. I like Moss too, my driveway is full of it and I can't be rsed shifting it. We also have grass and weeds and even escaped flowers - pansies and blue things, so I am doing my bit for Bees, insects, birds etc.
  13. 10 out of 10 for sodium hypochlorite - environmentally friendly and effective anti bacterial bleaching agent.👏
  14. SWMBO can get the car into the garage and also through the back wall into the garden. She is not used to driving a high powered automatic car.
  15. Mix one part bleach to ten parts warm water in a bucket. Pour the bleach mixture onto the stained or mossy area and leave for fifteen minutes to half an hour. If required, use a medium-bristled brush to rub the solution into more stubborn stains. Spray the solution directly onto the driveway. Allow the solution to sit on the area for around 20 minutes. Then, wash it off thoroughly with water. Wait for a few hours for the moss to die. Then, use a scrubbing brush to lift the dead moss off the driveway. Mix around 20 ounces of bleach with 5 gallons of water. Add the mixture to a garden sprayer and apply it to the surface. Once covered, give the surface a good scrub. Leave for 15 minutes until the moss has turned yellow. Rinse off the area with a pressure washer (or garden hose). Clear the area of any objects. Use a metal brush to remove all the moss leaves. Brush block paving cleaner into the surface. Use a pressure washer to rinse the area.
  16. It must be a worry with the Houthis bombing transport ships and the tea leaves in the uk nicking the ES cars. Has the new ES got any working protection yet from the easy Canbus attacks?
  17. My IS has a tyre noise and pothole simulator, but then it is an F-sport model.
  18. I would take the Bentley any time against a Ferrari. Maybe I appreciate the finer things and comfort as I get older.☺️
  19. I second that! For all us folk with more sense than money🫤
  20. Just as well based on this info: (expect nearer to the £5K mark). A major service, performed at specific intervals, includes thorough checks and replacements of various components. The cost can vary based on the age and model of the Ferrari. It could range from £1,500 to £5,000 or more And I thought £800 for an IsF full service was expensive.
  21. Very apt comparison. Lexus have not exactly described their cars as cr@p but the apparent disregard of customer's worries is somewhat alarming. Their complacency is surprising and maybe they will address the issue in the new year to some extent. My two penn'orth is that I would be seriously re-considering a prospective purchase now. But all that is academic for me as I will not be buying an electric CVT vehicle in any case. It may sound daft but I cannot understand the attraction, especially at the bonkers prices and devaluation. Therefore if I cannot find a good second hand "traditional" Lexus it is no more of them for me.🏎️😻. I will keep my IsF FOREVER!😁 ( unless it ( or me ) rots away or dies horribly )😱
  22. What I would do is got to a suspension specialist and get a quick inspection giving another opinion. My experience of Lexus service centres is that they like to point out the tiniest of issues or potential issues. To be fair, they are doing nothing wrong but they can be a bit pessimistic for reasons which you can probably figure out.💸🤨
  23. I have some thick pieces of polystyrene packing propped up and a big thick piece at the back of the garage just in case. The bike sits on an 8x4 piece of plywood with carpet on top to stop any cold or damp striking through from the concrete floor. The flippin' thing is spoilt to death.
  24. today I'm listening to: next door's dog ( a ****-poo I think ) barking in the back garden all night. But, I am getting used to it and not as bothered now after 2 years of it. Even their cats have reduced the frequency of their mega-crapping on our back lawn, so things are looking up for 2024.
