I’ve changed to Good Year all seasons and I get that resonating. I was convinced it was the tyres but I’m not so sure. -
There’s big business stealing bumpers as well as canbus.

You can’t avoid them on all but the entry level 300h because it’s part of the safety system. I like them and they also form part of the rear cross traffic alert (which is fantastic) and door monitoring system. The wiring is modular so for instance, the US model has a kick sensor rear door and we don’t. I checked and the wiring for it isn’t there. It might be just plugs if it’s part of the main loom but even then it might not be plug and play, it might need activating and or other modules. You can access the entire wiring diagrams on Lexus Techdoc. I’ve circled them on this LBX I fitted a towbar on.

They have improved it by 1.7 dB which is quite significant in sound terms but in the roof, B pillars and “elsewhere”. They also added gussets towards the front to stiffen it. Generally, stiffer means quieter.

It isn’t as dependable as it used to be because they had trouble with ships being hijacked. It will come around Africa rather than the Red Sea while nutters are attacking ships and then it will go to Livorno in Italy before coming here. It will then go to the central distribution depot at Burnaston before going to your dealer. Your dealer will give you the vessel name and you can track it to Portbury near Bristol. Add another couple of weeks to it coming ashore.

It’s not easy to be conclusive on a description and you know mine and the 10 month old one I had from new previously both have a bit of resonating going on but they were/are both very smooth and yes, they can be as smooth as a V8, never mind a V6 - that is down to the inline 4 being quite smooth and the hydraulic engine mountings. However, it seems there is something more with yours but if you’ve not had it from new, you might have trouble identifying the exact cause. Have you broached the subject of rejecting it?

I tend to reserve the word shocking for a nut case running around with a machete and even that isn’t too far off normal these days but I do agree that it is disappointing and it would only take a change of attitude and some empathy from the dealer to keep you happy until they come to a conclusion but not necessarily a solution. The reason I say this is because you’ve got my attention with this Paul. I’ve had two UX’s in quick succession from new and they both make a vibrating/droning noise on occasions that comes in and out particularly when pulling up hills at higher speeds. I wouldn’t personally describe it as a judder but a harmonic vibration. I run my cars on all season tyres from day one and I’d put it down to the slightly “blocky” tread of the tyres causing some resonation under load but I’m wondering now if it is the same as yours. This new 300h does it less than the previous 250h but it still does it so it might be a “normal” thing although not what we’d expect from a Lexus for sure. The problem I’ve got in reporting this is that I’d need to refit the standard wheels and check it again and even then it might not be easy to replicate because it doesn’t always do it.

You’re not at gunpoint. If you think buying a Citroen is the solution to the cost of buying a mirror then fill your boots because a Lexus will still be going long after the Citroen has had thousands in repairs before ending up in the junk yard. Check the price of Citroen mirrors first because £500 isn’t bad for a mirror these days so it’s that shelf and your minor confrontations that need sorting out.

I put a dashcam in my mate’s LBX the other day and in seemingly no time we completely flattened the battery. Luckily we’d got the bonnet open and sorted it in no time. Just a little tip for jump starting. A lot of these jump packs need to see some voltage before activating and if it’s low enough, it won’t work. If that happens, they have a “boost” button or similar. -
I only had my 250h for 10 months from brand new and the Yaris Cross before that was the same. I wish I could keep them longer but I’ve no willpower.

I get the best mileage during short trips because the hybrid system is working so well. There’s hundreds of hybrid taxis in Manchester and they do the same. I’m getting over 60 on my run to work which split roughly evenly between rural hilly, motorway and stop start traffic. I think it’s still improving with 2800 on it.

I’ve. Got the E4 version and I run it with the boot deck in the lower position and that works fine for me. It’s a strange question though because only you know if the boot is big enough for what you need.

Harsh but true. They easily exceed Euro 6 and they use 0W/8. I can tell the difference in running high octane in smoothing out the engine but you are right, my obsession in changing oil and benefitting from the additives in fuel are seldom realised. Occasionally a friend who buys one of mine does.

Not in an E6 engine you haven’t. The test shouldn’t be for fuel consumption, it is the long term benefit in injector operation and the EGR and GPF. Use what you want, it doesn’t matter to anyone else.

I’ll get shot down in flames for saying this but supermarkets are not your friends. The fuel is cheap because it lacks the additives that prevent injectors sticking and valves carboning up. Here we go….. I’ve been using supermarket fuel for 400 years…….….. ……..well you might have been but not in a car with a Euro 6 engine.

You sound indignant about a bearing. You’ve diagnosed it off Google, the place where an itch is often cancer. It’s probably brake discs if it’s been standing any period of time but they’ll tell you. The mirror isn’t the car’s fault.
