    I’m not aware that any UK spec cars have arrived in this country. Are you referring to a different country?

    The colour difference is down to the seat style so the dark rose is for the comfort seat and the more in your face red is for the sport seat. It’s something they do to set them aside. You can’t get the hazel colour (reminds me of Caramac bars) in the sport seat.

    It depends if yours has Adaptive High Beam System (AHS). From what you described it does but the best way of checking is try if there’s any difference from about 65 mph.

    Ok, I don’t care. What I also don’t appreciate is being ridiculed for buying a new car in defence of running an old car. That’s not you to be clear. The post is about buying a new NX and the only ones that have expressed a problem with the concept don’t run an NX and have no intention of buying one. My own situation is, I’m still working, I can afford one and I’ll put up with whatever the tax man does. I’m not unique, many brands breech the 40k threshold.

    The motoring press seem to indicate that all cars are responding to ever increasing cost of production and supply chain etc etc. it’s a big jump but it’s the shape of things to come I guess.

    I’m not sure it’s fair because we pay a proportionate amount of car tax and VAT but as you say, it is what it is, it isn’t hidden.

    It’s actually cheaper than I said, £30 a month is rounded up from £27.92. £335*4 is £1340.

    It’s certainly an interesting point and I don’t know the answer but if we’re talking new NX, it wouldn’t apply.

    What on earth are you talking about? If it’s the extra on a 40k+ car, it’s £30 a month for years 2 to 5 which is £1440 whichever distorted way you look at it. Once you get to paying over 40k for a car, £30 a month doesn’t register. The same goes for insurance and tyres or even metallic paint, we’re going to pay more than running a Focus but that’s the result of buying a luxury car.

    I don’t think anyone that is running round in any NX really cares about what you run about in or accuse of being a fool. I could argue the same for anyone who puts their bank account over their safety but I’m not interested in what you do.

    No that spec sheet hasn’t been updated but the price list has. They basically applied a blanket £1500 price increase to come into force on the 3rd of January. The only way they can offer a sub 40k model to avoid tax implications is to introduce these FWD models. There will be a market for them especially when compared to what else is available.

    Ive pondered on this extra tax. It’s £30 a month which it will more than save in fuel over my 300h and I’ll end up in something I’m not quite happy with - I do love the build quality. I’d be happier without it but I’m not cutting my nose of over that. 350h it is.

    The entry level model has a spare wheel. I’ve got a spare in my current model and I’ve carried one since 2006 but never ever used it. All the remaining models have run flat tyres. The hybrid warranty is 10 years and so is the vehicle warranty as long as it’s serviced at Lexus.

    Exactly the same concern for me. I tried the new F Sport and it was a lot more comfortable (less bolstered) than my Takumi but I’m hopeful the new Takumi will be super comfortable. I really want to like this car.
