  1. A lot depends on how the car has been stood during its long periods of low mileage. It also depends just how pedantic the mechanic is being. You usually get a little video by the “tech” (posh name for a mechanic) showing the walk around and he usually prides himself on finding the slightest thing. Bushes often delaminate slightly and are nothing to worry about. Take it to a Lexus dealership and they’ll try to get it back to “as delivered new” using genuine parts. Go to a reputable independent local garage and get a second opinion. If they say it’s shot then you’ll have to accept the price of standing a luxury car. Its just something that happens under certain conditions. If you want Lexus to do it, don’t just roll over, negotiate.
  2. They’ve sent a fella to the stores to get some washers as a start. Bad news, he wanted 96 but they only had 95. The washer factory says that due to unprecedented demand and a semi conductor shortage….. Washers was No1 on the list of 116005 items.
  3. I didn’t notice anything on my test drive. The car is so well insulated it’s a bit like a vacuum chamber….. not that I’ve ever been in one. It was very nice, put it that way. I’m usually quite conscious of such things.
  4. Don’t want to rain on your parade but depending on the model, that might not go into production for some considerable time. Nice colour.
  5. Some people spend a lot of time in their car so why not? It’s not unusual for high end cars to have a high end stereo, that’s part of what makes it high end.
  6. The same happened with the older models. In the US they support Sirius Satellite radio and our DAB will not run on the same software.
  7. What irritates me is, as Ken says, they were included in the spec at the time of ordering and the indicators still are so if they are going to de-spec the car, they should at least tell us and adjust the price accordingly. They are supposed to be No1 at customer service and this is poor. I asked about the indicators because the demo I had didn’t have them.
  8. I’ve got the build sheet for my car which suggest no heated rear seats despite the brochure at the time of ordering saying it did have. I’ll need to wait and see for sure but has anyone got a premium pack plus? Does it have heated rear seats? Does it have sequential indicators?
  9. There's a letter further up which says that we can’t really rely on the app at the moment because the whole supply chain is bggrd. The ship won’t come direct but it will call at various locations with Toyotas and possibly Mazdas so it varies. I would think around a month by the time it gets to you.
  10. When did you order it? Do you have an indication of when it’s due?
  11. Dealer told me that mine’s “at sea” and should be ready to hand over in March. Got a feeling I can’t do it until April with work etc. if anyone with 18 inch wheels wants to swap for my 20s, let me know. I’ve got to have snow tyres for work where I live and at the moment that limits me to 18s.
  12. I would have to be in unusual situations before I let somebody clean my car but I recognise that it’s not straight forward if you can’t get to a drive or garage. It’s a neat solution well executed and I like the photo tutorial.
  13. I always fit them. If they only help to reduce some of the crap flung up the sides they’re worth it. Quite easy to fit so don’t pay the £197 or whatever daft sum they are advertised at. Victor demonstrates! https://youtu.be/XlmdB-SX0J0
  14. You mean from now on but existing orders will be honoured?
  15. No idea, don’t care if they wouldn’t because they won’t be going in my car. When my kids were little they didn’t do things like that.
  16. I sold my NX with 68 days to go and they waived the £30 admin fee to change to my temporary Yaris. I’ve got a feeling I’ve been duped.
  17. Wool seats, yes now you’re talking! Comfy in all weathers and the wee beasty lives.
  18. I’m with you on the wood cappings (mostly). I certainly prefer the dull plastic in the MkI to the current trend of piano black but I’m with Thomas on the leather, it’s not so much the animal skin aspect, if you’re killing it for meat you might as well use the hide. I just don’t particularly like sitting on leather and I certainly don’t like the feel of it. My mate has a Jag which uses various grades of Alcantara which is super comfortable in my opinion.
  19. I agree. It isn’t even present on the Takumi spec. Its the people here in the UK head office that spec them. The factory will build whatever they ask for.
  20. The price list says “from February” although it doesn’t give a date. What occurred to me was the price, it was huge so I wouldn’t be in a hurry to get them. I did try the seats and while the leather is stiff, the Nulux is definitely softer and more comfortable in my opinion. My mrs only wants one thing which is ventilated seats so I’m stuck with leather. I got shot down in flames for showing a preference for non leather seats but you’ve got the best in my opinion.
  21. Any of you guys expert at tracking ships, is there one on the way? How do you find out?
