  1. How come he’s allowed an opinion and I’m not? Regarding pricing, I’m not sure if the car manufacturers are following the fuel and gas companies but I do know component prices have rocketed so maybe they’re making a loss. Is it just SUVs or anything but a hatchback. Personally I see an SUV as a large hatchback, it’s just a car and there are a lot of people that can’t park a city car never mind an SUV.
  2. I didn’t know there was a mediator other than the mods but my point is, this guy who doesn’t identify himself or what car he drives, professes to be an expert and states with such conviction why we are idiots for running rebadged Toyotas. All Lexus’s are built in Japan. The materials in the body and interior are superior, so are the underbody treatments, the self healing paint is thicker and more durable. The sound insulation and the seats are another level, the electrics and lighting are upgraded and the fit and finish is the envy of the world. I don’t know what this person runs if anything but I don’t suggest he’s being cheated or shouldn’t own it. I’ll buy what I want and being in the motor industry for 29 years at a senior development level, I’m qualified to judge what manufacturers build. So firstly, I don’t need a sermon from you because I responded to these painfully long posts on why Lexus are cheats. Secondly, a Lexus is worth a lot more because it costs a lot more to produce. It is an all round better car.
  3. Exactly. It seems strange that you can put a deposit on something you don’t know the spec of. If ordered a UX but I might prefer an LBX if I had a clue about what I was getting and the price. My mrs prefers ventilated seats but it doesn’t say. The dates for the UK are here; https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-lbx-uk-tour/
  4. They’ve announced days where they will appear in the UK although not a peep about the address. I hope they’re not going to have this pretentious garbage with girls strutting about that can’t remember where their feet should go. I’m not sure who Lexus have employed to do their marketing campaigns but they want booting out because their advertising is atrocious. The ads for the NX and LBX have some poor girl having a fit or spasms of some sort. How on earth does that convince someone that they should buy a car. Edit. The address of the location is there if you click on it but then it seems you have to find it. I presume there will be signs.
  5. Linas, you’re obviously bored to spew out reams of garbage in an attempt to convince us you must be right but you don’t know what you think you know about “rebadged” Toyotas. A Lexus might share the same powertrain but that’s it. I can’t take anybody serious who claims to hate a genre of vehicle. Hating SUVs is like hating forks or telegraph poles.
  6. Some engines dilute the oil with fuel but it shouldn’t smell directly after a service.
  7. On my NX, you could code a second set as in for example winter wheels. I’m pretty sure it’s the same system.
  8. Not what a dealer told me a couple of weeks ago but there’s nothing to say he was right 👍
  9. That’s interesting. If it’s on a very weak station I wouldn’t bother but I just wondered if it has had brake pads or tyres fitted.
  10. I think the finance will be held at the agreed price unless it has come down. They’re currently £750 deposit contribution but 4.9% which in many cases works out cheaper. I may order one tomorrow if all goes to plan. Regarding cream interior, I’ve had several and I prefer them because they are much easier to keep clean. Why? Because I can see any dirt. I wipe them with a damp leather frequently and use magic erasers (£10 for 10 off Amazon) for any stains. I also think they brighten the interior.
  11. I think it’s great but then again I am old. I started work as an apprentice mechanic in 1974 and this was right up there. I do genuinely think it looks classy 🙄😳
  12. Good for you posting photos, it helps no end. I personally like to see some little stretch marks in the leather, it adds a little character as long as it isn’t too bad and yours look fine to me. My understanding of those seat is that the facings are leather but the side panels are Nulux. The light is a mystery. Did it fall out on its own or did something happen to make it loose. I think it should be fixable but if you didn’t damage it then without any doubt, it should be fixed by them. How many miles have you done?
  13. They won’t update the powertrain unless there is a model change.
  14. Porsche, Audi, BMW and Merc need to look at Lexus for reliability.
  15. My neighbour has the red on a UX and I really like it. I would have had it in a heartbeat but the wife didn’t want red again 🙄. The beauty of red cars is that they look superb when clean and the beauty of it on a Lexus is that it’s free. You did good.
  16. Gorgeous colour. It was only the price tag that held me back.
  17. Black Circles are currently knocking 15% off 4 Michelins.
  18. I put Michelin Cross Climates on mine. Very quiet and very capable in poor weather. I’ve still got the original tyres with less than a thousand miles. You can have all four for £100 if you want a bargain.
  19. It’s probably only being processed but delete the app and then load it again. You must use the same email address as the one registered with your dealer.
  20. Yes, it asked if I wanted to add seat adjustments too but in the app.
  21. I’ve sorted the profile not loading. You’re not going to like it though. You have to disable wireless Apple CarPlay then once you’ve reconnected to wifi it works. Didn’t realise how dusty the dash was when I took this so I’ll fall on my sword after. The worst thing Lexus did was let the Americans design the multimedia. It’s not very intuitive in a lot of ways and a clear attempt to go after Tesla. The only thing you can do is connect with a cable for CarPlay if you want your profile and everything that goes with it to stay connected.
  22. It did start the engine! We’ve got remote start!
  23. Just this morning! I was stood near the car as I wondered if the engine would start. I then went in the house where the phone transferred from 4g to internet and it worked so not quite sure what it wasn’t happy about.
  24. Toyota have a solution within their group and it’s a good one. The humble Daihatsu Terios has a thin film heated screen. It’s better than the Ford option because it is literally a film of conductor so thin you can’t see it. However, as our screen has the DAB antenna embedded in it that might not be an option. The NX does have a heated element option that is intended to defrost the wipers and build up of snow. Standard on many bog standard Mazda CX-5s. Anybody with a Takumi, just have a look under the wipers just in case it’s included.
