  1. As fast as security responds, the scumbags follow. I’ve not heard sales are falling, I understand UXs are doing very well.
  2. That’s it Stephen, I’ve just done the same. My UX should get to the dealer this week and it’s got a regular 73 number. I’ll put my Reg on when the V5C turns up.
  3. Always register a new car with a gov number then change to your personal reg. when you retain your number they issue the new number to suite your cars age. At that point don’t close it down because they give you a link that you’ll need to have the number plates made.
  4. Aye well, there are lots of classy German and Swedish brands but none rival Lexus for reliability and JLR products arrive at the dealer faulty so they don’t enter the equation. A Lexus isn’t a rebadged Toyota, it’s a whole different kettle of fish.
  5. Mine was very quick. It arrived in the U.K. on the 12th and they were predicting it at the dealer today (19th) which seems a bit ambitious but they’ve been right so far. I’ll report back as soon as it’s confirmed.
  6. Haha, you can probably work it out. To get through the Suez, the corrupt navigation pilots have to be bribed but the Japanese won’t pander to it and tend to get pushed to the back of the queue so it could be down in the Gulf of Suez or in between. You can see what ships are due at Portbury. It will be a “something” Highway - OSK Line. When did it leave the factory? Your dealer will tell you exactly which ship it is on. https://www.bristolport.co.uk/shipping/forward-movements
  7. I wouldn’t be in a rush to walk away. For a start, the long wait isn’t their fault, they want to be in a position where they have a selection of cars in the country again but while we think Covid has gone, it still runs wild and shuts suppliers down in some Pacific Rim countries and there is still a global shortage of chips and other semiconductors. My strategy in the same position is and will be (mine is in the country and I expect to get it on the 7th Oct - my choice) if it comes with a different colour interior will be to sit in it and see if it is as bad as I was thinking, try to get to the bottom of what happened (to see who my complaint is with - 99% sure it’s the dealer) and then see what they say. You’ve got to be aware of what is on offer and there’s no way I’d wait for some JLR, German or Swedish junk just to punish Lexus. They’ll have a list of owners willing to accept a cancelled order as long as your arm so the only person to come off badly is you. Black wouldn’t be my first choice but it looks dead classy in this one;
  8. They know but do they check? It would be easy to assume it must be correct not even considering “junk in, junk out”. I doubt anyone at the dealer or Lexus would intentionally do it in the case of say a certain colour was unobtainable so it’s an error somewhere and my money is on the dealer.
  9. The black is dead classy although I get why you might not like it - it does dark the interior. By coincidence, my neighbour’s UX arrived last Friday with the wrong colour interior. Is it clumsiness at the dealer?
  10. I have good hearing and I’ve never once detected wind noise from mudflaps and I doubt that even with a fully instrumented car you’d detect any adverse effect on fuel consumption. You’d use far more fuel carrying the weekly shopping home once a week and I’m not carrying that home to save two decimal places of fuel consumption either. I’m committing this post to old wives tales despite the bold text.
  11. No it isn’t. You can’t get mudflaps for any Toyotas models before the end of the year. Lexus seem a bit better off but that could be because they are using stock up.
  12. I disagree with this. I always choose a light interior because it is easy to keep clean. You can see the dirt forming and get it clean where black can get quite filthy and you just sit in it. I do agree with free services but I’d go for the first three.
  13. I wouldn’t worry Gary. It isn’t a given your car will get stolen and they can find their way into all the German brands. Just get gap insurance from ALA and enjoy your car.
  14. Both the car and the phone are capable of playing up. On the phone, go settings general carplay and forget the device. Reload it again as a new device by going into add new Bluetooth device on the car.
  15. My Takumi has lumbar support but it will never get used by me. I can’t stand the feel of it pushing my lower back. Funny how we all prefer different things.
  16. All UXs have version four 2.0 litre engine and NiMH batteries. There is a newer version five which is in the Corolla and CH-R but we have the old one. Nothing we can do about that unfortunately. There will be a new model UX in the next couple of years with the new powertrain.
  17. No because I bought it as a cancelled order. It was already on the ship so I wasn’t the original owner. When I loaded it into the app, it shows the car but not the whole order process.
  18. No not got mine yet but it cam ashore on the 12th on a ship called Georgia Highway. Mine will be ready at the dealer late September so yours was probably on the same ship. From Portbury Dock they go to Burnaston then to the dealer.
  19. The dealer told me and I tracked it all the way from the Malacca Straight through the Suez etc. They call and drop off in Italy on the way past. Have you got a rough delivery date?
  20. They are right. Conventional tyres are quieter and being much lighter improves the unsprung weight and therefore the handling is improved. I’ve got Goodyear Cross Climates ordered for mine which is still on the ship so the first stop from the dealer after collection. They both are rated at 70 Db but those are drive by noise levels, not interior so I’m expecting an improvement on top of all weather capabilities.
  21. It isn’t unusual as stated above but does it feed any vibration up to the steering wheel?
  22. That’s a transfer cost from the dealer to Lexus. It doesn’t always stack up with the real cost.
  23. That trip computer can’t be relied on. It makes predictions on current during style. It will always predict short.
