  1. EV mode on the current gen 4 set up doesn’t amount to much but it will if we get a gen 5 version. I haven’t got paddles on mine but I frequently knock the shifter over into “selective” to hold the car back on hills.
  2. Right, I’m with you now. Yes, the urgent UX has the V4 powertrain and needs up dating to V5 that’s true. I doubt that article is accurate because firstly, I’m not sure it will physically fit but it only needs the V5 mod to increase the power and the battery efficiency. In combination, there will be less revs, less noise, more power and much more input from the battery as the Corolla. It needs to be done soon or there’s no point before the next model. in any case, I find mine quite nippy and 8.7 seconds is fast enough to 60.
  3. One minute a new engine, the next not. Conjecture and speculation comes to mind.
  4. I want my Lexus quiet, not making daft noises! I actually find the F Sport seats more comfortable than the Takumi and I hate over bolstered seats.
  5. I found, despite have surround sound selected, it still sounded better pulled towards the rear of the car 👍
  6. The one thing I’m not over keen on are the standard five spoke wheels so I’ve been on the lookout for a set of sport wheels. I’ve found some on eBay and they will get my all season Goodyears next week. More pictures to follow.
  7. The seats are slightly different (the sport seat is actually very comfortable) but it makes them the same then the F Sport adds nicer wheels (in my opinion) and adaptive shock absorbers. The grills are slightly different.
  8. The US version gets the kick sensor back for 2024. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got the same.
  9. Depreciation isn’t linear either. The way I see it, I work hard and enjoy a luxury car so I’ll take the rest on the chin.
  10. Are you sure about those numbers? Toyotas from Japan come with around 20psi too much pressure which is about 1.4 bar. It’s normal. It makes them more stable on the ship and prevents tyre flatting.
  11. Don’t think so Barry, he’s just clearing the message by pressing return as I read it.
  12. It depends what you need Martin. For me and Mrs C it’s perfectly adequate and with smaller kids as good as any Focus sized car. The other things that make it better than most other cars are; Thicker paint with a self healing outer layer (DON’T be tempted to polish it - only wax should be used, nothing abrasive). Thicker metal with a level of fit and finish that is off the chart (good explanation attached if you haven’t seen it), thicker sound deadening and spay suppressing undersea, The motors in the seats and mirrors are whisper quiet, The sound deadening gives an almost dull return from bumps and wind noise, near silent window motors that slow down at each end of the travel, sound absorbing screen and side windows, water repelling side windows and matters, the right side mirror is photochromic and the left is tinted, the Nanoe-x system is excellent (best left in auto), the comfiest steering wheel on the market in my opinion. Regarding the engine, well it is a bit buzzy but it annoys me when somebody whop thinks they know about cars does a YT vid. It’s the way it works and if you ask a lot it will rev to produce engine power and to generate electrical power. They also say it isn’t fast but it’s as fast as I would want to drive. No, it won’t launch in 6 seconds but it will pull like a train right up to legal limits so just bear with it while it runs in then see whether it is slow.
  13. You do that in the settings menu with the steering wheel controls.
  14. I went to my daughter in Hull today and if you saw the clobber I took. I dropped the seats going and partially coming back but I had the car ramps in for changing the oil on her Auris and numerous tools for doing various jobs she wanted doing. Everything was individually wrapped in old sheets to protect the interior. I’ll tell you what just changing the subject. That car is planted on the road when other cars were being buffeted by strong winds.
  15. I remember them well. They worked quite well actually. Haha, yes, I shouldn’t mock really, it’s up to Stephen if he doesn’t want it on. My Mrs prefers the sun roof open.
  16. Ikea batteries in a Lexus remote, whatever next??? 😂😉
  17. It seems equally bewildering to me that anybody would want to go back in time rather than benefit from a modern highly efficient system with Nanoe-x capability. They use this system not only to microscopically moisturise skin but to eradicate airborne disease from hospitals. It can stabilise the temperature from sub zero to record high and completely prevent misted windows but only if it is left switched on. We’re all different I suppose. I’m thinking of fitting drum brakes and disconnecting the power steering on mine.
  18. It’s a good car. I run the Facebook group for them so have a look, it can be quite helpful.
  19. Don’t you have the off button pointed out above? What model have you got?
  20. I’ve tried it in mine (latest version) and the button only goes down, it won’t go up. You have to press another button to get it back on.
