  1. Yes all 5th Gen RX models should not have the Can Bus vulnerability.
  2. 11.55v indicates a suspect battery, you may have a water leak causing the puddle. The pipe is to vent hydrogen gas away from the interior of the car, I think it unlikely that acid would leak from here.
  3. Blanking plates are currently the solution offered by Lexus, but there is the promise of something better on the horizon...
  4. Personally I think the Mazda CX-60 looks like a good alternative to Lexus, but no personal experience.
  5. I think that's a wise choice, but if Lexus do come up with the promised fix and insurance settles down may be worth revisiting in a year or so.
  6. Sadly if your car has been targeted it is likely that will happen again, especially in London. I am lucky not to have been targeted yet, but in your position I would take the hit and look for an alternative vehicle.
  7. That's very close to the cut-off, personally I would have expected the confirmation to be based on the VIN number. I don't believe they just happen to change the build spec on the 1st of the month.
  8. Maybe it's been hanging around a while, but sounds like one best avoided.
  9. Lexus seem to be making a right mess of how to manage the situation....
  10. There are also repair kits available if the valve stem is broken.
  11. Yes you would be paying an extra £410 per year as the original purchase price was over £40k, you do however save £10 by virtue of being a Hybrid.
  12. If it took 2.5 hours I am sure the price would be much higher.
  13. Also one post that stated there was a newer improved version, but I don't believe this has been verified.
  14. Also I think it's one of the factors on why insurance prices have risen overall.
  15. You can always take out an independent warranty cover for peace of mind.
  16. Make sure you get a print out of the tracking / alignment results, you can then have a discussion with objective data. Same with brakes, what is the pad / disc thickness and what are the specifications for wear. If the dealer can't answer these simple questions them most likely they are trying it on.
  17. The petrol smell will be because the car is running too rich.
  18. Most insurance companies will also let you choose your own repairer, but usually you will have to pay an additional £200 or so excess.
  19. If the sensors are metal they do tend to corrode and hence are easily damaged if you try and remove them.
  20. True but the risk factor is mainly the driver rather than the type of vehicle in that scenario.
  21. Sounds to me like it may have been the ECU rather than the headlamp itself, seems unlikely that both components would have failed simultaneously.
