If you get an annual hybrid health check (which is included in a regular Lexus service) the hybrid battery has a 1-year warranty up to 15-years, I don't believe there is a specific mileage limit.

How long do you plan to keep the car? If you just delay changing the plugs a year or so you are not really saving any money, only deferring the cost. On previous cars I have found that a new set of plugs certainly helps with fuel economy.

Clearly a basic service is very high margin product be that at a main dealer or independent. Sounds like you have been more lucky than me...

With a Lexus dealer you are paying for peace of mind that the job will be done properly and you have some recourse if that is not the case. My experience of several independents (on a non Lexus vehicle) is not great, often coming back with new faults, oily interior and unbelievable excuses.

That's the Canadian plant that supplies North America, the current UK RX is made in Japan.

Probably the oil seal on the gearbox.

You could also consider a Lexus approved used RX, you get to inspect the actual car you are purchasing plus of course save a few £££s.

RX is larger so better driver & passenger accommodation and boot space, plus you have a 3.5L V6, the new RX will apparently only be available as a 4-pot.

Service costs are the same at all UK dealers, an interim service is currently £315, major service £540. Honest John lists real world mpg at 33.9 which is about what I get.

That's your problem, they are not road legal. I think it's more of a case that legislation has not caught up with newer technology rather than any risk they pose.

Changing the brake fluid and bleeding the brakes would be the first course of action for a soft brake pedal.

You can check this by seeing if one wheel is running hotter than the other after a drive. Check your wheel nuts are torqued correctly, if the wheels have been off recently.

If you do have a high emission car in the 2001-2017 scheme then you can be hit very hard on UK road tax, I think this will see a number of these cars taken off the road as the cost of tax becomes a significant proportion of the value of the car. Ok you may say that's good for the environment but does not take into account that many of these cars may well do low annual mileages so although they are high emission the environmental impact is much less. The 2017 onwards scheme is much lower for high emission cars once the first year hit has been taken, although you have the additional hit for a few years if the car is £40k+.

One explanation could be a leaky injector, the fuel system is still pressurised when the engine stops. Fuel leaks into the cylinder and is flooded so takes a few cycles for that cylinder to fire. From a cold start the fuel has either evaporated or drained into the sump. Just a theory from very limited data and I am not a trained mechanic. Either way I would return it, I would assume this was a £30k+ car so I would not put up with this.

I am new to Lexus and this forum, but in 30+ years of car ownership the "it's normal, they all do that" is typical of the response from the UK motor trade when they can't diagnose and successfully resolve a problem. My 2018 RX450h with 12,000 miles does not do this and no one else has piped up either to say it's normal. As to the 75,000 miles statement that is just rubbish, a car of this age and mileage should either function correctly or has a fault. To me it looks like you may be running on only 5-cylinders when this occurs, this would explain the excessive vibration, but I would expect this to be easily diagnosed and could be due to a spark plug, coil pack, injector, wiring etc. I would ask them if they are 100% sure this is not the problem and also get the service manager to demonstrate this on another vehicle as he has stated.
