  1. It's in the set up somewhere as I recall as I disabled it on my 4th Gen, the only caveat is if the seat is already set to it's maximum reach.
  2. At the weekend I did a 500 mile round trip in my 4th Gen RX and averaged around 40mpg, 34mpg is the long term average, with a hybrid you don't get such a variation between town driving and long trips. 0-60 is similar but much more relaxed cruising in the RX I suspect, I had cruise set to 70mph and engine is typically running between 1,200-1,500rpm.
  3. I would say not unreasonable for a car of that age and nothing to worry about, what is the mileage?
  4. I would expect a reputable body shop to use something like one of these. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164962564106?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338749392&toolid=20006&customid=GB_131090_164962564106.140713280561~1432660886624-g_EAIaIQobChMIj4K0oNDS-AIVpgIGAB1-iAHjEAQYAyABEgJB1_D_BwE
  5. The parking is very tight at my local dealership and it's a joint Lexus / Toyota operation so always check my car after a visit. When I was looking at a used Lexus I had to do a Houdini act to squeeze into the drivers seat whilst the salesman held the door to stop it dinging the adjacent vehicle.
  6. Another option would be to source the part and get an independent body shop to do the work, should still give you change from the payout. Moving all the trim and adjustment of the door to get the alignment right might not be easy, I would guess body shops have a jig for holding doors as they are being attached.
  7. I am glad I am not the only one with car OCD on the forum 😉 Always park well away from the crowds at the supermarket. If parking at an airport I will happily spend 15-mins driving round so I can find an end space, parking right on the white line to maximise the available space.
  8. They can certainly rust and be awkward to shift, but should be perfectly doable often with the help of a heat source. Or maybe it was a free car repair and an expensive snack 😉
  9. Yes annoying, but spaces in underground car parks are not generous and from the picture probably only 6 inches or so off from dead centre in the space. My experience is those that reverse park are generally the more considerate drivers, plus most likely did not have a passenger so less likely to ding your door. I remember staying in that hotel when we took the kids to Legoland many years ago and still recall how rude the staff were in the restaurant.
  10. Yes very straightforward as long as you can get access to the rear of the headlamp housing, I don't know what that's like on your car. I have used the Osram Night Breaker HIDs on a non Lexus car and they were a worthwhile upgrade. It's normally recommended to change HIDs in pairs as unlike conventional bulbs which either work of don't work HIDs gradually fail over time so you may end up with one side looking much brighter than the other. Just be aware HIDs work on high voltage so take care with the electrical connections which may still carry a charge even if turned off.
  11. So the Relax scheme is really a win-win. Obviously good for us as the customer as we get a free extended warranty, ok doesn't cover everything but way better than anything the competition has to offer. For Lexus (& Toyota) won't cost them a fortune in warranty claims due to inherent build quality and reliability (imagine the costs if JLR offered such a scheme), locks the customer into dealer servicing as attested by several on this thread so keeps dealers happy with after sales revenue. Ok so we may ending up paying a bit more for servicing, but Lexus service costs do seem comparable with other premium marques, ie rip off prices for a basic oil change but that is the industry norm.
  12. Pretty certain I read in the manual for the 4th Gen don't use a pin as it will damage the nozzle, so suggest you check the manual first for your version.
  13. My honest advice (which you probably won't like) is that unless you have the skills to work on the car yourself you are probably throwing good money after bad in a car of this age. Yes it's crazy but that is the simple economics of running a car in the UK.
  14. Don't know about the cat 😉 But you could check the power steering fluid level in your car.
  15. Yes and the village blacksmith can keep a 100-year old Model T running with just a hammer and a screwdriver. Today's generation of high tech cars will be just static objects in museums of the future, the electronics will be dead with parts that are unobtainable, unless you go down the road of updating with newer tech.
  16. It's free when included with a service which is also 1-year / 10,000 miles for the RX.
  17. Yes so you would need a Hybrid health check at 10,000 miles or 1-year (whichever occurs first), but there is no overall mileage limit.
  18. If you keep the Hybrid health check up to date there is a 15-year unlimited mileage warranty on the battery. The Honest John real world mpg for the 4th Gen RX is 33.8mpg which is pretty much what I get, never had less than 30mpg from a tankful.
  19. I'd suggest don't leave anything in sight inside the vehicle.
  20. If you do low annual mileage fuel cost is not your biggest expense in running a car, look at the total cost of ownership: Purchase Cost / Depreciation, Finance, Road Tax, Insurance, Tyres, Maintenance etc.
  21. I do agree the 5mph increment / decrement in ACC mode is annoying but I would not call it insane, stupid and dangerous. Ok so you get 1mph changes in CC mode, but who would use that when you have ACC available? I find it frustrating in average speed check areas where I may want to set an exact speed, but I can only do so in 5mph increments or keep cancelling and resetting to get the speed I want.
  22. If it was metallic it likely caused a short which should have taken out the fuse.
  23. Surprised that's not included are you sure it's just not missing? If that's the part that's failed then you would not need a new sensor just a replacement body? I have had exactly the same issue on a non Lexus vehicle, as far as I can see the repair kits are generic to most vehicles, after all a tyre valve is not manufacturer specific, but this looks like the part you need. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pressure-Sensor-Valve-Repair-Chevrolet/dp/B07FM98Q6J/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=tpms+repair+kit&qid=1655371143&sr=8-4
