  1. It would probably look a lot better with just a T-Cut and polish, that should take off the black marks at least.
  2. I'd suggest taking to a smart repair or local bodyshop for a better job, I had something similar which cost about £100 and you could not see where the paint had been matched in.
  3. My RX is same year as yours, sensor works once to unlock and then again to open the boot (with the key on your person), but I find it is a bit hit and miss, the movement over the sensor needs to be quite slow and deliberate to be recognised so I have given up with it.
  4. Top speed is quoted at 200kph (124mph), I believe this is limited although there are YT videos showing cars at slightly faster speeds.
  5. The fuel filter is also likely to get clogged if there is any debris in the tank, and if you were to run the tank dry you may find it's not just a matter of adding a gallon or two but the system may need priming to get all the air out.
  6. I think it's more likely you had more than 10 miles left in the tank, rather than the tank is smaller than stated.
  7. Yes gorgeous car, I guess the number plate reflects the character of it's owner....
  8. So service costs continue to rise whilst the actual work and components replaced goes down
  9. I remember a listing on ebay from years ago for Gary Lineker's LS, I think it was a 94/95 so not sure which exact model that would be, but it was pretty cheap as I recall, wasn't Gary listing it but a subsequent owner.
  10. From looking at the RX I would say highly unlikely to be a problem as being an SUV there is plenty of space around the wheel arch, unlike a sports car where the wheel pretty much fills the arch. It's just possible at full lock there could be a problem, you could try putting your wheels at full lock in both directions and see how much clearance there is.
  11. FU2 is currently on a 1965 Blue Rolls Royce.
  12. If you do try always loosen the wheel nuts a fraction before jacking up the car, that way there is less chance of the car coming off the jack as you struggle with over tightened wheel nuts.
  13. Not really, about the easiest car I have ever driven, mastering the infotainment is the hardest part...
  14. Agreed, I would only use Eco mode when low on fuel in the middle of nowhere.
  15. Looking at the online Service History for my 2018 RX I can see the fuel pump was replaced under recall VGG05.
  16. The supplied wheel nut wrenches are usually rubbish too, I always keep a decent quality one in the boot.
  17. If you maintain the Lexus Service History you will benefit from the Relax warranty scheme.
  18. I believe it's available on some UK Lexus vehicles but not the 4th Gen RX.
  19. That's pretty impressive, did you tackle Hardknott Pass?
  20. I have it on my phone, but it's a bit hit and miss, if you have been gardening / diy and your skin is a bit rough it's not recognised.
  21. Yes, the point is you only pay the excess regardless of the actual repair cost, but as you state the premium will be higher so it's a trade-off. Plus if you only have a minor incident eg scuffed bumper, most likely it will not be worth claiming through your insurance as it may impact your future premiums.
  22. I have used LV for both house and car insurance without any problem. I have had one car insurance claim with LV where someone pulled out of a side road driving into the side of my car, the customer service was excellent. Many years ago I collided with a deer, there was quite a bit of damage to the bodywork and also a problem that the engine would not run properly (eventually diagnosed as broken air flow meter). The insurer arranged for repair of the bodywork but claimed the engine problem was entirely coincidental and nothing at all to do with the accident. Eventually they paid up after much grief, that was Direct Line.
  23. I too was sceptical and was weighing up between an RX and Jaguar F-Pace 3.0 Diesel. My thoughts were surely you have the complexity of both an ICE and EV and all that extra weight etc. What swung my decision was the Lexus reputation for reliability, service and the Relax warranty vs the poor reputation of JLR products. Having now owned the RX for about a year I continue to be amazed at how much improvement in fuel economy you get from the Lexus hybrid system and how smoothly it operates. At the weekend I made a 500 mile round trip, very relaxed driving experience and averaged 40 mpg, and that's a >2 ton car with a 3.5L V6. I do still prefer the looks of the F-Pace though compared to the RX.
