  1. On the RX you have to do it twice, once to unlock and then again to open.
  2. The current Government policy is to raise taxes, if it was not Vehicle Excise Duty it would be something else going up. I don't have an electric car, but even if I did I would think at £165 per year that's a fair cop.
  3. The parts availability situation would put me off, regardless of the price. Shame that Lexus don't fully support these classics, an area where Mercedes has a better policy.
  4. There is also the Financial Ombudsman, but I would keep this as your last resort. https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumers/complaints-can-help/insurance
  5. I suspect as the brake pads wear more of the piston is exposed to the elements and corrodes, gets covered in brake dust, muck etc. New pads fitted and piston is pushed back in to accommodate the thicker pads and hey presto is now stuck.
  6. As a former Cavalier owner it would be unusual if there was not a puddle of something under the car...
  7. As part of a service they would normally top up the washer fluid, maybe they were just clumsy and overfilled it so may not be actually leaking.
  8. I suspect MG are looking to grow their market share, so low cost servicing is part of that strategy, plus there is not a lot to service on an electric car so you could argue it's even more of a rip-off than Lexus. I do agree Lexus service cost are high, but unfortunately seems the industry norm for the UK at least. I find most independents pretty poor, so there could be a market opportunity for a decent chain of independents.
  9. May also push some customers to the RZ which is around £71k for the Takumi.
  10. And if you factor in the 1-2% loss in mileage as advised by the government that takes the difference down to about 3p.
  11. Increasing your voluntary excess may help reduce the premium, but will obviously cost you more in the event of a claim.
  12. No, they wait until you are approaching then pull out to overtake another HGV, then take 2 miles to overtake at a speed difference of 0.1 mph, then pull back in front of the HGV they have overtaken with a 6-inch gap. HGV behind then repeats the process.
  13. Great choice, just remember you can't drive the RX through a swamp like a Range Rover 🙂
  14. Yes conversion is one route, but look at how successful the Mazda MX5 has been. MG could make a new retro-inspired all electric small sports car, limit the range so would not need a huge battery, target market would be as for the MX5.
  15. I would suggest always declining the "free" wheel alignment check at a tyre depot.
  16. I wonder what rate Lexus UK pay though, the full retail price or some other rate? If it's the full retail rate should easily cover the costs even if it takes 20-hours to do the work.
  17. So quite a significant price increase over the outgoing Gen 4 RX and no V6....
  18. They just need to add an electric MGB to the portfolio.
  19. I suspect it's probably the radio aerial.
  20. https://www.electrogenic.co.uk/cars/electric-citroen-ds
  21. Bumpers just cosmetic, but personally I would be very concerned with these advisories.
  22. I agree with you on this vehicle, but not the original DS surely....
  23. Yes it's not a huge cost but I would suggest you don't mention that as an option, stick to your guns that it should be repaired at their cost, once you offer to pay you are the one going down the rabbit hole.
