  1. I assume you mean parking brake, but yes agree this is best practice.
  2. Whenever you are driving in heavy rain water and spray will be continually soaking the underside of the car, I think nothing to worry about.
  3. I'd suggest changing the auxiliary battery first, relatively cheap and a good idea to replace anyway. Power pack is that the Hybrid battery? If it's the main Hybrid battery that should be covered by Lexus warranty if you have kept the dealer service history up to date.
  4. Nope, I think that would be money down the drain at this stage without a definitive root cause identified.
  5. Are you covered by the Relax warranty? If so I would suggest leaving the vehicle with your Lexus dealer so they can try and replicate the issue from a cold start. From the symptoms you describe it would suggest you have a problem with the power steering.
  6. You could try exercising the seat controls backwards and forwards a few times to their full extent, maybe something has got jammed in the mechanism.
  7. I guess easier option for the Met Police than trying to address serious crime issues. I am not suggesting that road safety is not important but is that the objective? I doubt if the cruise control can be changed.
  8. I suspect it's very hard to be certain where the noise is coming from, does the noise stop if you hold the dashboard? Taking the whole dash out may fix one issue and cause 2/3 new ones, you could end up spending a lot of money and problem is still unresolved.
  9. Ok that's likely to be a 3rd Gen in that price bracket, there's 195 RX450Hs currently listed on Auto Trader up to £20k, that's probably a good place to start.
  10. Would help if you could state which generation you are interested in and there are some sticky threads detailing the spec of each version.
  11. I'd say comfortably warm not tepid, but certainly not baking hot.
  12. Audi is copycat of BMW, at least in the UK market.
  13. Personally I have never liked driving at night, especially on dark country lanes. Main beam is just about ok, but you can hardly ever use it.
  14. I find you don't get any nasty smells from the aircon which I have had in previous cars, especially when first switched on in hot conditions.
  15. I'd suggest checking with your local Lexus dealer what support they could provide, worst case would be they refuse to work on it.
  16. Probably a good idea to get it fixed I would suggest....
  17. Have they stated it has a problem eg leaking or just a general recommendation?
  18. I think that may be because the battery vents hydrogen when charging and there may be a spark as you connect the terminal, but a very remote risk in practice.
  19. They must be aftermarket, regardless of the drug dealer looks, the tyres are like rubber bands and there is zero room for any suspension travel without hitting the wheel arches. Must be about the most uncomfortable ride possible and probably couldn't go over a pothole without breaking something let alone traverse the Amazon.
  20. I got an email too from my local dealer but they wanted £40 for the winter check, did you not have to pay?
  21. I agree the wording certainly implies that, but all previous documentation I have seen stated traction battery only.
  22. It's only the traction battery that is covered by the Hybrid Health Check, if there is no other warranty in place. The Hybrid System itself will have a number of additional (and very expensive) components: inverter, motors etc.
  23. May also be worth looking at a service plan, you lock in future services at the current price and pay via monthly direct debit.
  24. Must be awful to be in that situation where you are trying to brake and nothing happens, I bet each of those drivers is instinctively pushing the brake pedal through the floor. Whereas the only chance of stopping would be to release the brakes and try and regain traction, but very hard to resist natural instincts.
  25. Service requirements will be set by the accountants and marketeers not the engineers. 'Lifetime' means something like average age / mileage experienced by typical user before the vehicle is uneconomic to repair, not that it lasts forever.
