  1. Looks excessive, but you stated you have just acquired the vehicle where it could easily have been outside in winter conditions for a couple of months with little use and hence condensation has accumulated over a period of time.
  2. Your local trading standards may be able to assist if the dealer is not playing ball.
  3. I think this is normal, mine is the same, even if you put in EV mode anything more than the slightest dab on the throttle and the engine will start. But overall I think the fuel consumption is quite impressive for a 3.5 Litre > 2-tonne vehicle. Yes I have seen slight condensation in all four rear light clusters depending on the weather conditions but usually clears quickly.
  4. Both Porsche & Mercedes museums are worth a visit also the BMW museum in Munich.
  5. I suspect it's more down to the skill and care taken by the operator than the actual machine used.
  6. I suspect a fairly simple software change could be developed such that the Can bus is deactivated when the vehicle is locked, or at least the parts of it which can be accessed externally. OBD ports could be protected with a PIN / Password required to access them, this would be set at manufacture and given to the customer just like you get a code for locking wheel nuts, this would need to be an industry wide change. All fairly simple changes which could be made if there was a desire to.
  7. Toyota / Lexus hybrid technology is very well proven, just look how many Prius minicabs there are running around.
  8. White smoke is usually a sign of water vapour, could be the head gasket. Check the oil level and filler cap for any signs of water or white emulsion.
  9. I have made two claims on insurance in my motoring history: Direct Line - Hit a deer at night time, terrible insurance experience with the claim and repair LV - someone pulled out of a side road and drove into the side of me, very positive experience with the claim and repair
  10. It's the design that's flawed, not the technology itself. I strongly suspect a software upgrade could be developed to prevent this particular attack, but I doubt it will ever be provided retrospectively to existing vehicles.
  11. If frozen try a running a watering can full of warm water around the edges.
  12. Interior: Parcel Shelf, Rear Seats, Something in the boot etc Exterior: Suspension, Exhaust etc
  13. I think that's a model that would suit many, small electric city car for commuting etc, ICE for longer journeys. For those that only need / want one car a plug in hybrid would be a better option than BEV.
  14. I'd suggest taking this up with Lexus UK, yes technically it's not covered but they may make a goodwill gesture even if not the full amount.
  15. I suspect the tyres and alignment would not have been covered by Relax anyway, so you probably only lost out on the wheel bearing.
  16. I have not heard of this before, is this damp pads freezing to the disc (which could happen in any car) or some other cause? My drive is a moderate incline so always use the parking brake.
  17. I don't see a problem as long as they have the right training and access to technical support. My local dealership is joint Toyota and Lexus, separate showrooms but I am sure the workshop is shared round the back.
  18. Have you tried better quality bulbs? Osram Night Breakers are a significant improvement over standard. Also are the reflectors in good condition or are they corroded / dulled?
  19. Even if possible you need to work out the economics of the cost of conversion versus any potential savings in fuel costs, plus given this is a 15-year old car what is the remaining life expectancy? I suspect you would need to cover a very high mileage before breaking even.
  20. I would assume it's covered by the warranty or insurance if its broken.
