  1. Yes, because an actual misfire should result in a fault code being generated.
  2. I predict there will be many insurance claims for these giant screens, whenever my son gets in the car usually his mobile comes flying out of his hand / pocket like a missile.
  3. Are there any unpleasant smells at all? If so there are various diy products you can use for a fraction of the cost. If not the dealer is just after making a quick high margin sale that is not needed and just leave as is.
  4. Only the later face-lifted Gen 4 RX have touchscreens, the original version has a mouse type controller.
  5. Avon tyres were the standard fit for Rolls Royce for many years so can't be bad I would assume.
  6. It's a small world, I was there on Friday having my 4th Gen serviced, saw the Bronze 500h in the car park. To upgrade my 5-year old 4th Gen with <20k miles would cost around £50k, something I won't be doing in a hurry, I would plan to change at 10-years when the Relax scheme expires.
  7. I'd suggest trying carb cleaner, good for baked on soot in my experience.
  8. First step would be to scan for any codes via the OBD port.
  9. Yes Toyota pioneered Kaizen which has been widely adopted across many industries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaizen#:~:text=Kaizen was first practiced in,outside of business and productivity.
  10. The additional rate applies because the retail price was >£40k when the vehicle was first registered.
  11. They should be auto-leveling, as you switch them on you should see them rise.
  12. You could argue it's the same with ICE vehicles, manufacturers quote the power output and torque of the engine, after 10-years / 100k miles it's likely that those figures will have degraded.
  13. Another factor in battery life would be the number of charge / discharge cycles. Most of us will have our smartphones on all the time necessitating a recharge at least every 2/3 days. If an EV has a range of 200 miles a weekly charge would suffice for average 10,000 miles per year. So the average phone will probably get charged 2-3 times more frequently than the average EV.
  14. Yes but much smaller capacity and hence uses much less raw material. I think that's a very naive view, ultimately it's a political decision which is usually based on economics.
  15. It will be worth less than a properly presented 75k vehicle due to the dodgy history.
  16. Shows the importance of the MOT as externally looks a well presented vehicle (from the picture at least without watching the video).
  17. Without watching the video there is no problem with electric vehicles per se, yes they have advantages and disadvantages as does any technology. I think they can play a useful role in reducing emissions in urban environments. The problem is a policy that states the exclusive solution is the electric vehicle.
  18. I suspect light clusters can't be designed to be fully hermetically sealed. Clearly it needs to be waterproof externally, but if it was fully sealed there would be large variations in internal pressure under different weather conditions. So for example in full sun on a hot day temperature would likely be >50C which would create a large internal pressure (and it would probably at least crack if not explode) unless there was a vent somewhere. If there is a vent then moisture in the air will be present which may cause condensation under some conditions.
  19. Exposure to UV from sunlight will cause cracking, if the car is regularly parked where it's in full sun that could be a factor.
  20. I think the 500h will be a very low volume car, not sure who the target market is. The sensible buyer will go for the 450h, the petrol head for something else.
  21. I guess you are looking for a Gen 3?
