  1. Nothing wrong with BEV's as part of an integrated transport policy, ideal for urban use. Quite a lot wrong with saying BEV's are the only option.
  2. I have secured a 10% discount on MOT's as an LOC member at Steven Eagell.
  3. I have the pre-facelift Gen 4 RX, I believe that uses signage / camera only and not any map data.
  4. The sign recognition is pretty poor, many signs get missed and sometimes speed signage on the back of an HGV gets misread as a speed limit.
  5. I suspect it's worn piston rings which creates excessive crank case pressure and oil then comes through the PCV system.
  6. My suggestion would be that once wider details of the metal protection plate are available, that we all push that this should be a no cost fix included with your next service. There may be some mileage in the sale of goods act, but this would require a class legal action.
  7. I suspect more likely a key relay theft, although the Can bus vulnerability has been present from Day 1 it appears only to have become an issue in the past year or so.
  8. I have never had an LS400, but from posts I have seen on the forum availability of parts seems to be an issue which ultimately may restrict the viability of keeping one on the road in the long term.
  9. You need to specify the tyre make and model. I have had no problem with Michelin Cross-Climates.
  10. Quite a few insurance companies offer breakdown cover as an option which is what I do. I used to be in the AA and had occasion to use them 3/4 times and always had good service, but fortunately not in this millennium.
  11. If you are buying a used bumper I would assume it's going to be scuffed / scratched so will probably need repainting anyway.
  12. Definitely not oil, most likely condensation from the air-con, otherwise could be coolant or washer fluid.
  13. Just a thought - have you actually refilled the tank since you changed the filter, maybe that would reset things if you brimmed the tank?
  14. But the next service will be cheaper (if you still retain the car), so the overall cost for a major & minor service will be the same (assuming there are no price changes).
  15. Presumably the automated emergency braking would still function in the non-radar mode, so you wouldn't rear end an HGV at 70mph.
  16. Some of the Steven Eagell dealerships are joint Lexus / Toyota dealerships. They have separate showrooms but a shared workshop around the back.
  17. Yes I have that option, includes most things the later Takumi pack has with the exception of rear heated seats and rear electrically adjusted seats. So in summary I don't believe any pre-facelift F-Sport would have heated rear seats, most likely an error in the listing.
  18. Agreed, first car I had with air-con I used it sparingly and sure enough the refrigerant leaked out. Subsequent cars I leave it on all the time and have not had any problems.
  19. I think you would struggle with the MX5 as a do everything car, even if it's just personal transport for yourself what about the odd trip to the dump or getting stuff from the DIY store etc?
  20. First step is you need access to the fault codes, only other thing to check is the 12v battery, anything else would just be a guess.
  21. Yes, they come on if one of the rear doors has been opened, there are no actual detectors for the seat belts being fastened. Most likely one of the doors had been opened before you went on the test drive.
