  1. Maybe they have an offsite contract for getting it washed or maybe they all went to the local cafe for lunch. Personally I would not worry about 6-miles as long as the service has been done and the car is undamaged.
  2. I believe technically you should always notify your insurance company of any incident..... In practice depends on your excess and future impact on your policy, I think the wheel arch trims are reasonably cheap, but if the bumper is damaged that will be expensive.
  3. I believe the ones without the panoramic roof have slightly more headroom.
  4. So I think better to go for a higher excess to reduce the premium and just accept minor issues you will have to pay for yourself.
  5. Agreed, it would not make sense for Lexus to directly participate in the Forum, but I do hope they are lurkers and take note of some of the discussions.
  6. So longer range would require more capacity, so likely to be physically bigger, never heard of this being done on a Lexus hybrid. Even if possible you'd probably have to drive around 10 million miles to recoup any costs from fuel saving.
  7. That's below average mileage for age, should be fine as long as the service history is up to date and you get a full warranty. Check the tyres as if original they will be due for a change.
  8. Lexus do have their own forums, but I agree independent is better. I doubt the RX Can Bus issue would have had the same focus on a Lexus managed forum.
  9. Yes always good practice to downshift for engine braking on a hill, riding the brakes is probably the worst option, cadence braking is a better option ie brake hard, speed up a bit then brake hard again. I have read that putting into neutral actually causes more wear on the transmission than leaving in drive, personally I have always just left in drive unless at a complete standstill.
  10. Personally I think darker wheels look better, plus I would not consider doing this to a new car, I doubt the finish would be as good as the factory originals.
  11. Just to be aware when loading to the max, in previous cars I have crammed stuff into the rear seat foot wells, but with a Lexus hybrid you need to ensure you don't fully block the cooling vents for the hybrid battery.
  12. If your car is a 2004 RX300 as per your profile you don't need to worry as the problem is with the 4th Gen (2016 onwards) only.
  13. If they are original they are likely cracked due to ageing so would be wise to change them.
  14. cr@lexus.co.uk Shouldn't need a template, just say you would like to have the modification.
  15. Pretty certain it's not a car part, looks like a furniture fitting or similar, probably from someone taking a trip to the dump.
  16. On the paperwork there was no part no, just stated parts supplied direct from Lexus. Plus we will need to wait and see if this is a fully effective solution.
  17. Overall long-term average I get is around 35 mpg. All the 4th Gen are keyless, you can either get a Faraday cage or can be disabled. Can Bus theft is a different issue, plenty of posts on the forum.
  18. Premier was the top of the range so will have every option, FSport was available with a wide range of options so check the exact spec carefully. Last week I did a 500 mile round trip (mainly motorway cruise set to 70) and averaged 43 mpg which I think is pretty impressive. Maintenance is reasonable, 10,000 / 1-year service plus you get the Relax warranty thrown in, I have had zero issues with mine. Be aware of the Can Bus theft issue, but there is a modification for this available from Lexus.
  19. Yes the ride is choppy, AVS is more of a sports feature ie should be less body roll when cornering hard and less front dipping when braking hard. I don't believe it makes much difference in terms of ride comfort and there are only two user settings you can choose.
  20. I've experienced these symptoms with a vacuum leak (not a Lexus though).
  21. Unless you are driving to the moon a couple of mpg either way is largely irrelevant in the overall running costs of a luxury car.
  22. Not really, you may be able to negotiate a discount too, 10% should be achievable.
  23. Service prices are standardised across dealers and listed on the Lexus website.
  24. Mine was fitted today and there was no charge, took 1.5 hours whilst I waited. I had previously contacted Lexus Customer Relations and just got the stock response that has been posted on this thread, then got an unprompted call from my local dealer to have the plates fitted
  25. You should be covered if the last Lexus service was before the car was 10-years old and was within the last 12-months / 10,000 miles.
