  1. Yes you are a perfect fit for Lexus 😉
  2. Supermarkets are fine as you can usually park well away from the people dashing in for a quick shop or just use a different supermarket. My local Lexus dealership has terrible parking, last time I was there the lady on reception had to squeeze into a 6 inch gap to pull my car out of the supposed space, not a premium experience.
  3. Yes, lots of people due to increased level of theft due to the Can Bus security issue.
  4. When I had a no fault accident I was offered an upgraded hire car rather than a basic courtesy car, didn't need to go through a CMC company.
  5. It may have been a Can Bus theft, but yes you do need to either shield your keys or deactivate them.
  6. The codes need to be read from the OBD port otherwise it's just guess work.
  7. That's a lot of damage for a car park scrape, sounds like he needs to hang his licence up.
  8. I think from those results the car is running too rich for some reason, I think unlikely to be the spark plugs unless you have misfire symptoms, most likely one of the sensors.
  9. I had the plates fitted early on and have had no issues. I believe the front bumper has to be removed, but it should be largely a mechanical job, there is no work required on the electrics other than maybe unplugging some connectors, so I would think the risk of major electrical problems is pretty low. Disconnecting the battery is often standard practice for when working on a car, which may explain the Hybrid Health Check which requires a certain mileage / time period for data to be collected.
  10. Yes, seems entirely logical and all the additional complexity of having both an ICE and Electric Motors, but the reliability surveys say otherwise with Lexus Hybrids coming out as some of the most reliable vehicles on the market.
  11. It may be referring to the Geo-fencing device that is also offered in addition to the Tracker.
  12. Some of these MOT Advisories seem to mysteriously fix themselves like the Starship enterprise. To be honest everything on a 2007 car is going to be slightly worn, it's a pretty meaningless statement.
  13. I would have thought the MOT regs would also specify the bulb type / brightness etc as you need to be able to differentiate between Position Lights, Brake Lights & Fog Lights.
  14. I'd suggest checking the 12v battery in the first instance, a poor battery is known to throw various spurious fault codes.
  15. If it's the one with the LED it automatically applies the parking brake (hand brake) when the transmission is set to Park, I can't see any reason not to leave it in Auto mode all the time.
  16. If getting the wheels refurbished, I think powder coating is a better option than the diamond cut finish, which inevitably corrodes leaving unsightly white marks.
  17. I'd suggest get the MOT done first and hence get a second opinion and should also be covered by the Relax warranty if that is in place.
  18. You can try Lexus Customer Relations at cr@lexus.co.uk or contact the UK senior managers directly.
  19. I do think the prices of new cars has way outpaced inflation over the past few years. Just look at the luxury car tax stuck at £40k, even a top spec Mini now falls into that category.
  20. Surely that should be clearly labelled in the car, what if the car is submerged or on fire.
  21. They will also be changed at 6-years if <60,000 miles, mine were done at the last service and there is no additional charge over the price of a full service.
  22. Or even 99p start price with no reserve on ebay, if nothing else saves you the trouble of disposing them.
  23. Looks like you are due an oil change as well, should be no worse than brown / tea colour not black (unless a diesel).
  24. It would seem a sensible design feature as the vehicle is likely to be damaged and will not have the requisite safety features.
  25. Depends on their price relative to current market values as to which is the best buy. The RX is certainly the better car and 2018 is still pretty new for a Lexus, check what options are fitted as well though Panoramic Roof, Mark Levison Stereo, 360 cameras etc were all options.
