    No offence intended, but if they don't even know where the ECU is I would not have any confidence they know what they are doing, messing about with the ECU is not for the faint hearted.

    The rolling circumference is almost identical, so I would not expect there to be a huge difference in handling other than the smaller wheels giving a softer ride.

    If you require a replacement bumper I would expect that to be an insurance claim with a pretty hefty bill. If paying yourself many bodyshops should be able to repair a bumper if the damage is not too great.

    Some insurers include key cover as an option for a relatively small charge, worth considering.

    Plus the Lexus service includes the Hybrid Health Check which gives you a 15-year unlimited mileage warranty on the Hybrid battery.

    I was going to say surely £3,000 for a head gasket replacement is way over the top, but this thread confirms the diagnosis.

    Wheel balancing would be the first thing to check.

    I'd suggest using a multimeter to see if power is being applied to the pump, if you need a replacement I think an aftermarket part will be fine. Autodoc are fine in my experience, but take about a week or so as they ship from Germany.

    Get a touch up kit from Lexus parts direct, if you are not happy with the result you can always get it done professionally. The touch up kits do tend to apply the paint in a blob, so I let that harden for a few weeks and then gently cut in with polish.

    Would only be invalidated if the immobiliser is the cause of the problem, eg a poor installation could damage the wiring loom and cause other issues.

    The warranty doesn't cover diagnosing the problem (that's standard practice), but in my experience 1-hour labour is about the norm for diagnosis, so £750 seems ridiculous. If the fault is found to be covered by warranty the diagnosis fee should then be waived (gets charged to Lexus as part of the repair cost).

    I believe it was no increase in income tax, but the point I made re the freezing of personal allowances for a prolonged period of course applies to both the previous and current governments.

    I think it's way more that that, the personal allowance of £12,570 was set in 2021, using the Bank of England inflation calculator that would now equate to around £15,100 and by 2028 who knows what. So the average basic rate tax payer will have lost out by several thousand pounds over that period.
